Heres a quick question for you as well bud I have had my 501 for around 5 or 6 years now and didn't find this out until recently do you know how to grease your clutch bearing.

@@richardsneddon2976 - yes although I have only recently bought it and haven't run it much yet. theres a hole on the output shaft you can push grease into - I have the grease gun fitting to do it - just not sure how much to put in and what happens to the excess and I don't want it to go into the clutch assembley!

Hi im seriosly looking at getting an echo chainsaw this week ... started oit thinking about a 4510 but the more i read into then the cs510sx would probably be a better bet... only thing is i keep reading and hearing that the echo chainsaws change and run in over the first few tank's if fuel which is fair enough only thing is i wouldn't know nearly enough too tune 1 property... do they all need a retune? Thanks

Every saw needs run in time not just echo saws . The 4310 or 501 are way better than the 4510 as its plastic. My 501 was used for nearly 4 years before I tuned it and it ran fine . Echo saws are held back a bit out of the box and the pro series ones I.e 4310sx , 501sx , 621sx are all pro saws with magnesium crankcase any one of those saws ran the way they come out the box are fine and they don't need to be tuned , only if you want the full potential of it that's all . Keeping them as they are with the proper fuel mix they will last for years . I have 4 echo saws and never had any issues with any of them . Top tip use echo power blend gold 2 stroke oil at 45"1 not 50'1

@richardsneddon2976 thanks Richard...nothing beats experience... see the local echo guys are lloyds farm machinery and their 510sx is around 670 with vat... only other thing is I saw another vid of yours where you thought the 18 inch bar was about pushing it too the max ... and you thought the 16 was a better choice... my current saw a stihl ms 260 just runs a 14 inch bar so either option would be longer .... you recommend the 16 over the 18...its just a general saw bit of firewood ... pointing odd straining posts n hedge laying ...bit of an all rounder 👍

@@alanyoung7655 I have other vids on it as well . I bought an old stihl 038 and done a lot of work on it and I had to buy a tachometer once I had refurbed it . After around 4 or 5 years of running the eco I put the tachometer on the echo and it was only sitting at 11500rpm out of a possible 13800rpm I turned it up a little to 12500 and the difference was incredible it was like a completely different saw . I then removed the restrictor from the exhaust which is very easy to do on that machine but wait for at least 10 tanks of fuel and re tuned it again to 12500rpm because when you remove the restrictor the rpm jumps up again. And again completely a different saw, better throttle response more torque, more power and getting the heat away quicker . I would now say it would run a 20 inch bar easily. But I still run 16 or 18 on it . The ms260 is also a great saw
