I have a 2009 diesel xtrail 6 spd manual meant to be 127kw GT model, and I want to know why the diesel xtrail is rated to tow less than the 2.5 petrol xtrail? Braked towing for the petrol 2.5 is 2000kg, braked towing for the diesel is 1350kg, I don't get it, the diesel has way more torque, and I cant find an answer anywhere on the net.
I had use of a Xtrail for about 10 days. Awful car!! The MPG was poor even considering its size, the power was lacking, it had 7000 miles on the clock but I think most of it's horses had already died! Cold starts were noisy and rough, the "on demand" 4x4 tried to kill me, kicking in mid turn on ice. I didnt dare tow my caravan with it, the solo drive did not fill me with confidence, used my '01 Passat instead and got better MPG towing than Xfail could deliver solo!
What a load of waffle. go play with your motorbike, clearly you know zero about proper 4 x 4s. If you really want to moan go and buy yourself a suzuki vitara preferably a petrol version, that i do assure you will give you something justifiable to moan about.

I have the 2.5 petrol and i would not like to tow 2000kg with the cvt , it would probably brake. Also the towing power is not great
