It also starts in the school system that makes these kids feel incompetent. Kids are coming from households that aren’t healthy( single parents, parents working graveyard shifts or working more than one job, older kids focusing on make sure their siblings are good) so they go to school to feel the same thing. Schools in the hoods don’t even have proper academic programs or teachers willing to foster proper learning!! Deadass these schools set you up to fail, I’m talking from experience, I transferred to a school in a Jewish neighborhood in thronhill and all of a sudden my teachers were talking about post secondary school in grade 10!!!
