The difference between the UK scene and the Irish scene is that the UK’s artists are organic. UK Drill / Grime evolved over a number of years from the streets, to pirate radio, to underground battles, then onto UA-cam and mainstream audiences. It was built from the ground up by our olders and the youngers have carried the torch. Its generational and has evolved and adapted continuously over the years.
The Irish can and will obviously take inspiration from that, (just as the UK did from America) but they need their own beats, bars and flows etc. something that represents Ireland. So far, all I see is Irish artists just blatantly copying the UK. From the visuals, to the bars, to the slang, to even the artists names. Nothing about it is authentic. The talent is there, but until the Irish create something original and new, the scene is never gonna blow.
irish accent sounds so dead on rap haahaaa
