I could play with any QB archetype as long as they have ideal sense of pressure and/or ideal forcing passes trait. But ideal sense of pressure is a must. I change the receiving back position to WR and use him as my slot WR I must have at least 2 coverage linebackers on my roster And I also find that having slot corners and hybrid safeties are a must because the safeties can cover Slot receivers, TEs and RBs our the back field. That gives you so much flexibility on defense.
You should upgrade player archtypes evenly... but make sure that the main archtype for any given player is always higher... At the end of the day, all archtypes are tied together in someway in regards to attributes..
There are some caveats that are not mentioned because he mostly focuses on players being balanced outside of archetypes that do not make a huge difference in play. Things like Power and Agile for OL are both balanced between Pass and Run Blocking with Power focused on Power Blocking and Agile focused on Finesse Blocking. Or the correlation between Receiving and Elusive Back Archetypes where a high level in 1 usually has a high level in the other as a Secondary Archetype and if you run a pass heavy offense your HB will often be your 4th or 5th receiver making Receiving an important Archetype. Or Possession TE being the balance between Receiving and Blocking while Vertical Threat and Blocking are specialist Archetypes. And so on. Realistically how you value each position should be solely based upon your Scheme and Strategy because there is no right or wrong Archetypes as long as they fit what you do.
Great video, I did not manage to find this information searching the net. If I may make another request: Is there any tangible difference (in game) between the following positons. SS/FS, LOLB/ROLB, LG/RG, LT/RT and LE/RE, or can I just draft a SS and play him as FS (for example). Edit: Just wanted to say that, so far, I play (Franchise mode) only offense and controlling the QB. So every other player is AI controlled.
Another thing that I find confusing/hard is how to match up the schemes with the playbooks. Since the schemes decide the archetypes that are most important for every position, then I assume I can't just select a playbook with passing plays that I like, since those plays may utilize different archetypes..? How am I supposed to know which scheme works with any given playbook?
@@johanharma2936 Scheme fits gets the most XP for that matching player! If a player does not fit scheme it doesn't mean he wont perform/sim any different!
When u are picking ur system look at the other teams system first. Like I like vertical power run system. I Pick the system then looked for teams that had that system to find what playbooks fit my system. I picked steeler. Think it was only two teams that had my system as their main system with their play book. That's the best way I know how.
Year old comment, but there is a guide you can look up that breaks down every scheme and the playbooks that best fit them. With that said there are 1 offs that do not make sense when seeing them, but work with the archetypes of a certain scheme. For instance SF playbook works best with Base 3-4 scheme even though it's a Base 4-3 playbook. Also as your scrolling through Playbooks the game gives a short description that includes the Scheme it is based around. Another scheme example being 3-4 storm which does not have a matching Playbook, but a Playbook that is heavy zone rush works best with the Scheme as you will constantly be rushing 5 to 6 while dropping 5 to 6 in coverage with the goal being get to the QB before WRs find holes in the Zone.
With Montez Sweat if you draft him and you run a 4-3 all you do is edit his position to a defensive end i edit alot of players 3-4 DEs to DTs even SS to OLB there ovr will go up and down though depending on the pos.
@@ciofloyd886 ive downloaded this years draft class obviously Isaiah Simmons is always good but hes a freak even Duggar but really any of your bigger SS will work like 6'0" 215 or bigger also if there a "run support" saftey attribute helps if you dont down load the draft class ive used Landon Collins (Giants) Sua Cravens (Redskins or F/A) Cam Chancler , Eric Reed Ect....works really good if your needing a Cover LB in certain situations

You can play SS all over if you want you can also edit them and change them to FS or even LB
Have you ever heard of Mike Evans?? 🤦🏾♂️
Did you change Jordan Willis to a star or did he get a dev upgrade? I run him as a LE in my fantasy as well.

Scheme fit mainly helps with getting players upgraded. Basically great players are great players regardless of scheme
But, still, does not the different plays in a playbook cater to different archetypes? And not all players in a franchise will be great.

Mr. Reid, another great video. For defensive players, what specifically does the Field General Archetype mean?
If I'm running a power back like henry. I would snag a rec RB for 3rd down

Do ROLB/LOLB really need (if playing 4-3) to have both speed and power rush?
Good video 👍🏻
My Rb Singletary only a 87 speed (94 ovr) 24
I have to disagree with you on the physical for WR. Those guys are beasts, great for RAC and clutch at hauking in 5050 balls and saving your bacon.
Ive actually found in my experience a physical receiver is the most reliable in clutch moments so i always try to keep one on my teams
That's how I've always done it when I think of physical wr I of Dhop or Julio Jones maybe Michael Thomas they outmuscle you for the ball
I went to high school with Jalen Hurd! lol I washed my hands next to him in the bathroom one time
What HS?and what at?

the fullback gets no love? lol Love the video and your channel! so informational
