- Hi, welcome to my sewing space and thank you so much for joining me.
Just a quick Vlog today to let you know about the Busy Bee Sewing Challenge that I’m taking part in.
Thanks to Sam - @sequingirlie and Christine - @the_gemini_stitcher for thinking up and bringing this fun challenge together. Both have created an introductory vlog so please head over to their channels to watch. • BUSY BEE SEWING CHALLE...
• Meet the Busy Bees - S...
The challenge is loosely inspired by The Great British Sewing Bee with 3 challenges but we have a month for each one….phew!
July- Pattern Challenge, we are all sent a surprise pattern to make up this month.
August - refashion, using the current series as inspiration.
September- Make a garment/outfit suitable for a Mediterranean holiday.
The other vloggers taking part are
• Claire - @lovesredsews
• Janine- @janinesews
• Kate - @ripperseams
• Laura - @sewverylaura
• Stet - @knotsandneedlescrafts
I was sent my pattern by the lovely Laura. After watching my previous vlogs she decide on the Wren Blouse/Dress by Chalk & Notch Patterns and I’m really excited to try it. Let me know which option & fabric you would choose?
Thanks for taking the time to listen to me today & please subscribe if you would like to know each time I’m back for a chat!
Happy Sewing😊

The black n gold would be stunning 🦖
I love the feathers!!! Please choose that one. ❤
@@georginagowland6084 Thanks. It’s lovely isn’t it. I haven’t seen with double gauze before so it would be a good extra bit to the challenge!
Love, love, love the chambray! Good luck with your make
@@deniseblake6214 Thank you. Yes definitely need to make it up even if it’s not for this make!
So glad you like the pattern, Nicky, and can’t wait to see the finished product! X
@@SewVeryLaura Fabrics are washed, pattern is printed, just need to make my final fabric decision!
The chambray is gorgeous as is the blue viscose. Can’t wait to see what you make
@@angelalysandrou4830 thanks ☺️
Such a lovely pattern, the black double gauze with the feathers would make a lovely blouse and the chambray a gorgeous dress ❤. Looking forward to seeing what you make 😊
@@pinkderdlesews I’m going to make sure I use both of them soon if not for this make!
I love number 4 fabric Clare from NZ 🥝🇬🇸
@@clarethompson1934 Hi Claire. Thanks, yes I like that one too & definitely think I need to use this year even if I don’t decide to use for this
Ooh that blue viscose would be gorg as a wren dress xxx
@@The_Gemini_Stitcher 😊 It’s such a gorgeous colour isn’t it, I may end up making a blouse & a dress if I can’t decide!
Love the chambray! I used that same fabric to make a myosotis dress (a few years ago now, sadly it no longer fits me). The embroidery anglaise would be lovely for a wren blouse 😍
@@lovesredsews thanks, I definitely need to use it!
Have you considered blocking the black fabrics so that you have the front bodice in, say for example, the black and gold and the rest in the black broidery anglais? Being as this is a challenge it might be nice to push it a little bit further than you normally would.. and a little black dress type of garment will always be nice to have, and of course during cooler days popping a jacket over it would change the look and you’d never know it was blocked. Just a thought. Can’t wait to see what you decide 😁 x
@@clairerosey9921 yes love the idea of blocking, unfortunately the weights of these fabrics are so different that I’m not sure they are suitable but I definitely am keeping that idea in mind. I may see if I can get a bit of the Broderie Anglaise in the other colour way the shop had, if it’s still in stock
