    I'll give it to Carouselambra and All of My Love. Carouselambra has so much energy and going through all the different sections is kind of a journey. All of My Love is just beautiful.

    Simple Minds - Sparkle in the Rain. I hated it so much I actually took it back to the shop to swap for Eurhythmics- Touch. For some reason they let me do it! Then I spoke to my friend at school and he said he felt the same way before really giving it a listen. As a result of this I got it again and went through their back catalogue and they become my fave 80s band. This was their last great album though. I also have this album above in the original paper bag. .

      Thanks!! I need to explore Simple Minds. I only know the radio hits. Good call.

      @@StrangeDevice Their best album is called New Gold Dream from 1982. What stands out about them is an improvisational way of writing songs and some beautiful Bass lines by Mr Derek Forbes. After he left in 1984, they lost their way to commercialism.

    WTF....?
    How would you make a "greatest hits" style collection without "all of my love", "fool in the rain" and "in the evening".....?
    Plus it was their last record--- it's a snapshot of what they were doing at that time.......

  • @racegts
    @racegts 10 місяців тому +1

    Agreed!!! Fool in the Rain is One of the most difficult and intricate drum parts to play, ask any Drummer. And yes, Roberts ode to his son Karak in All Of my Love is a tearjerking ballad straight from his heart. RIP Karak

    I agree...... I bought the album as soon as it was released. Rolled a tight one, Stuck it on the record player and kicked back to study the album cover. I was very disappointed! What happened to my beloved Zeppelin? But as time went on I ended up loving this album. I still play it every now and then. By the way.............Rock n Roll is dead!

      To quote Monty Python…. “I’m not dead yet!” Rock is still alive, but not so much in the mainstream shitshow of talentless auto tuned can’t write my own songs so called artists. Ya gotta dig to find it !!🎶🎶🎶🎶

    It's not "great". It's the last gasp of a dying dinosaur. Most of the album is based on keyboards, because Page was too strung out on heroin to be arsed to create anything.

    "All of My Love" is the worst Led Zeppelin song, ever. The rest of the album is fine, but that song … absolutely horrid, unlistenable shit.

      @@keithbutler2222 Yep. That and “Heart of the Sunrise” (which is otherwise a great song) taught me the laziness of key changes to signify the end of a song. It’s like nobody could come up with a good ending so the band said, “Aw, fuck it, let’s just change the key.”

    1979 was the year of Of The Wall, Breakfast in America, Tusk, Joe's Garage, The Wall, Damn the Torpedoes. Except for a couple of tunes, the album, In Through the Out Door was a waste of vinyl and not worthy of Zeppelin's catalogue. IMHO.

    1. Garbage album by a creatively bankrupt band
    2. Terrible video. There's no actual analysis here. it's just 2 and ahalf minutes of "AcKtCheWaLlY It'S gUd".
    3. Nothing is worse than JPJ thinking he has any business behind any other instrument besides the bass. Every time he played keys is was pure cringe.
