Expanding on the idea of some conservatives wanting to victimize children. A lot of conservatives don't like being told 'no.' An early of part of age-appropriate sex-ed is consent, teaching children that they have control and choice over their bodies. I'm not even talking about sex acts or transition in regards to trans kids, I mean being able to say "no, I don't want to hug right now." For a lot of conservatives when they tell their kid to hug grandma, they expect their kid to hug grandma regardless of the child's feelings. While this mindset obviously enables *sexual* abuse, the mindset itself is extremely common and I'd call it abuse in and of itself. Consent is consent is consent, doesn't matter if it's a sex act or a hug and *everyone* is entitled to it.
