Film Synopsis:
Academy Award-winning actor Denzel Washington gives a riveting performance in Spike Lee's breathtaking film on music and love. Talented trumpeter Bleek Gilliam (Washington) is obsessed by his music and indecisiveness about his girlfriends Indigo (Joie Lee) and Clarke (Cynda Williams). But when he is forced to come to the aid of his manager and childhood friend (Spike Lee), Bleek finds his world more fragile that he ever imagined. Stunning cinematography, a rousing score and superlative performances come together in this unforgettable feast for the senses.

We were all young back then, one of my wife and mine favorite movies, 30 then 61 now, life moves on, and still married.
Beautiful
@@Ishbikes Thank you Minister.
Word! I went to see it opening night at 20 years old! Now 53!
I'm 31 and I still love it! 91 Baby!
25 and living in DC back then. Definitely remember seeing with a bunch of friends. Very good times!
we were spoiled with classic black movies in the 90's. if this came out now, it would win 5 oscars, lol!
This movie made me a saxophone player and I can’t never be so grateful to have been 6 years old back in the 90s watching this art
Denzel Washington, Wesley Snipes, Giancarlo Esposito, John Turturro, Bill Nunn (RIP), Charlie Murphy (RIP) ... talk about an all-star cast. This is one of Spike Lee's best.
This scene told me Westley will lead his own band in the future
Robin Harris too
This movie was everything to me when I first saw it, the style the sexiness. Made me the jazz fan I am today. And who didn't want Cynda Williams?
One of my favorite movies from back in the day. Also one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all times.
My favorite, of Spike’s. To me, the movie is perfection. The acting, cinematography, the storyline, and, of course… That music. Oh, that music. Blended so seamlessly…it just has to happen where and when it does. I could go on and on about this one. It definitely lives in a small place in my heart and mind. And of course it brings me back to more innocent times in my life.
Mine too
Denzel even uses the correct fingerings on trumpet.
Não é uma encenação
except for 0:58 he plays C as 2+3 instead of open. But, at least it is an alternate fingering, lol.
I even fell in love with his fingers...😂❤
One of Denzel and Wesley’s finest performances
Yes!❤
I play this song when I need to feel more hope for the world.
One of Spike's best. Great film
I dont saw the movie yet
Malcolm X was a Magnificient Film. Too.
hello how are you doing
Timeless masterpiece.
is 2024.
This tune always brings smile to my face, no matter what situation I’m in.
The song and movie that got me into jazz and jazz history.
New York at its best..Spike Lee captured magic..
mo better blues and HAPPY BLACK HISTORY MONTH black music is a must
My life changed when I saw this as a kid.
Spike is the man. Great performances by all the cast
Ya dig sho nuff
One of my favorite jazz songs
This is how actually love sounds!!
I have never seen a bad performance from this AWESOME ACTOR. GLad too hear he got award, which was wayyyy past due.
This movie helped to make Denzel the man. It put Spike Lee on the map as a movie director. So much flava. I viewed this entertaining film when I was 29 years old on a college campus full of students. Today, I am 61 and reminiscing. 🎥 😍 ♥
Bleek & Shadow = Miles & Trane in a fictional tale
Used to hum this to my kids to sleep..now 20 years later anytime i start humming it they join in.
Me too
LOL Same here
One of my favorite scenes from one of my favorite movies.
This film does not portray real people nor their interactions realistically nor believably, it deals with archetypes. In this regard, it is more like a mythology of jazz, or like a Shakespeare play, then filtered through Spike Lee's urbane perspective and style, his bravura editing and explosions of color.
And all that bebop always bubbling through the background! What a feast.
Can still hum the entire song 😊
I'm doing that now lol yep
This was amazing. I remember this as a little boy playing this over and over.
I grew up to play an electric Gibson bass to this.
Man, life moves and we groove.
Keep grooving yall.
I love, love, love this song!❤
MO' BETTER, MAKES IT MO' BETTER. 😊 the music was amazing throughout thr whole movie. Branford Marsalis & Terrance Blanchard were great composers. 🎼
Sometimes, i just need to come back here & here this.
The music was simply parallel with the movie. A great cast and plot and it was most enjoyable then as it is today. The chemistry between all the actors is love and admiration which makes it genuine. Well done indeed!
You couldn't separate the music from the film
hello how are you doing
@@ignaciopullum9891 You are absolutely correct because it's like peanut butter and jelly...
@@atidepeinnocent Better as each moment develops and how are You???
@@edisonmosleyii1300 i am fine my name is francis what is your name
R.I.P. BILL LEE ❤
And people want to compare Tyler Perry to Spike? Let's be serious. This is a classic
Denzel look dam good right here!
Luv this damn movie wish they still made em like this
I was a Freshman in (H.H.S) in High School when this movie- Mo' Better Blues launched. I played the Alto Saxophone from Middle School to the end of High School. I played Alto Saxophone from 7th Grade through the 12th Grade. Middle School was Band Director Mr. Bonpanni and High School was Band Director Mr. Egerton.
Still play?
I've always loved the saxophone now I'm learning to play this on my tensor saxophone
Always loved this song
Saw the movie back in the day & I’ve loved the soundtrack ever since ❤
Alonzo Harris & Nino Brown Are Playing At A Jazz Club Man.
😂😂😂😂😂
Pure Classic material !!
Who didn't love Denzel because of this movie
This beautiful instant classic, which sounds like it has always existed and it’s hard to believe that somebody made it up, was composed by Bill Lee
It was composed by Branford Marsalis
This movie is why I joined the band in middle school
The Book of Eli: The Beginnings
Aye bruh um still waiting on my payment I really dgaf what y’all tryna do
Write now this willie
Biblical
It coulda been about rappers or rock stars but neither woulda blended with this particular movie so a jazz band did it some justice
Yes Yes Yes 👏👏👏
Most definitely a movie I would watch
You should. It’s sexy and sticks with you long after you watch.
Thank you.
Great film! A classic! Spike at his best. And on drums a true jazz drum master,Jeff Tain Watts in his acting debut.
Also on Piano, Giancarlo Esposito(Gus in Breaking Bad and Moff Gideon in The Mandolorian)
go wesley ★
One of the best songs. And a good movie
MO BETTER BLUES is a really good movie and this song (Mo Better Blues) was the most captivating scene. Terence Blanchard on trumpet and Branford Marsalis on sax...just wonderful...!
✨👍🥴✨
Jeff "Tain" Watts, Wynton's longtime Drummer, played Rhythm Jones the drummer in the movie.
@@mckinleywebb5910 Thanks for the update McKinleyWeb...those guys are some (very) terrific players...!
✨🥴👍✨
You can understand people's love for the Sax but I remain loyal to the Trumpet 🎺
@@mckinleywebb5910 Yep... they felt that the actors could "fake" all the instruments except for drums, so they "cast" him as the drummer to do the beat right.
My favorite movie and my song when i need to feel the world
Uma dessas cenas icônicas do cinema. Momento mágico. Incrível! Pra sempre na minha memória.😌
노홍철 ~~ 너무좋아요~~~ 노홍철~~~~

We loves you boys!
What a good film and music.
hello how are you doing
❤️❤️ toute mon adolescence est dans cette chanson ❤️
Music instantly puts me in the time when i 1st heard it.
Im not a jazz blues kinda guy but i love this song
RIP Bill Lee.
Bravo
🔥🔥🔥✊🏿
Malcom X and Blade
Wesley Snipes needs to be in a Equalizer movie
I was born 1989, and I was looking back on Ms. Tyson career and I didn’t know her and mile Davis was married. I always hear his name but never looked him up; until last night and this was his song, and I was like I have heard this tone somewhere( MO BETTER BLUES)
This was not Miles song. This tune was a original recording composed by Terrence Blanchard who scores many of Spike Lee films.
Whole Soundtrack is FIRE!
RIP Bill Lee
Wow this brings back wonderful memories lots of Beautiful sweet girls but better blues😢
