We cannot understate Trina Trine’s impact on musicians. John Peter’s technicality and placement has always stood out and the Glenn Gibson Jr’s taste is out of this world
Wow! I haven’t seen Trina Trine in a long time. Probably cause I’m out the loop. I remember watching her a lot back in the day in the early days of UA-cam - if not before
as a self taught piano /organist i love how the newer generation use the bigger chords like 12 and 13/but i grew up in the baptist churches in the early eightes and the pianist and organist in the old baptist churches played 3or 4 note triads
You are correct, but some of them could bring the Holy Spirit through on Sunday morning. Mr Jessie Hammond Julliard train could make a pipe organ talk and we would shout for joy.
THat "Great is thy faithfulness" OMG! wow! Glenn...... I wish I could have gotten some of that vocal on the Blood Will Never Lose Its Power. That is my hymn I love that hymn... Trina Trine Yes on keys MY GOD!
Thanks for all your comments. I had a musical Showcase for my birthday (8/27/18), in Chesapeake Va. I'm Definitely not a "singer", but hey, they were my guess, so I took a liberty.....or 2 ...or 3...lol. thanks tho!
(She gotta stop workin' that Leslie switch! :D :D ) The first note I EVER heard of ANY musical instrument in my life - because my family didn't believe in listening to radio or TV at home - was a Hammond C3 at the church I was raised in. Along with a Hammond E-100 / 122 and an A-100 / 122, I now on THAT SAME Hammond C3 / 122 that I first heard when I was 2 WEEKS old - 51 years ago, he first musical instrument that I EVER heard, and I listened to Bishop Philip Willis play it from the time he was 9 until he was 16. I now have 34 keyboard instruments in my home music studio. Trina was PHENOMENAL, but, like MOST Gospel players (and, as I said, I have heard Gospel Hammond organ for over half a century), there WERE times where she would leave that poor, worried Leslie switch alone and "just play that organ!" :D.... but, there were MANY, MANY times where she wouldn't even get her left hand back on the keys before she flipped that damned switch again! I had to turn my head! :D Ya can't tell me that that BOTTOM drum on that Leslie even had time to know what was going on before she changed speeds again! And, the TOP rotor was getting whiplash! :D :D As I said, I have nothing against her playing style - a class act. And SOMETIMES, she stopped worrying that switch (when she played the second time), but during the first time, that switch was having a melt down! :D Y'all Gospel players gotta put your hands on the KEYS and play, not on that switch! No bother, however! I even yelled at the man - my Hammond Super Star, Phil Willis, for working that switch, and, had it not been for that fantastic man's presence in my life, I would have *NO* musical heritage in my life at all - I would have never touched a musical instrument. And I love that man, most likely, more than anybody on this PLANET! :D Love, Peace and **PLAY!!**
bphilbac Sorry but no one is on John Peters level. When he goes off you won’t believe what your seeing. He’s the MJ Of Organ Players. On another level playing for Space Jam and all those crazy combinations he puts together.
@@jerometaylor4243 Let other folks have their shine without bringing up irrelevant ppl into the mix. Wherever Cory was is right where he needed to be. He can't be in every video and honestly, no disrespect to Cory and his talent but I'm glad he's not in this video. Waaaaay overrated for the Gospel sector. Funk Music and anything else, ok, but I would actually like to hear him stick with (or as close to) the traditional arrangement of a Gospel song for once. Glenn Gibson Jr. gave a great mixture of traditional and freestyle. When you can't or have to strain to recognize the original song like hide and go seek, it's too much! I will give it to him during his Revival Project "He Has Made Me Glad" in the first couple of minutes but in the 3-minute mark, uh uh...lost it until the closing in the 6-minute mark. Cory competes with himself and the song and dead artist...gathered this from his personal interview.
John cuttin up with them fat chords, and it was so tight that the dude singing, could not even focus on the song then forgot what he was singing, then stopped singing, and said ahhh play sir. Go ahead play John 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
All of the musicians are incredible! Their playing is very balanced, as some musicians’ playing gets too busy with runs to the point where a vocalist doesn’t know where a song is going.
Great video all three have mastered "their " style and I'm sure each one can mimic the other chord structure. Learn the boring stuff and practice . Learn the hymns it's a great foundation to build on. Play from your heart not for attention. Fancy chords sound good but are built off basic theory. Sorry for such a long post. My mother song all the time but she's gone father gone. I promise my mom I would use my talent for God and Him alone. Hand grips and proper finger help to focus on playing and less thinking . Ar, mem, spi wat up. Atl
All of them were great! All very talented and blessed by God however, y'all could've found a better vocalist that was just as talented. He has potential but needs some work. Overall everyone did a awesome job!
All I can say is y’all play to much. I almost threw my phone across the room. Soon as that young man opened his mouth, I liked of went out. And miss lady has that organ talking. Thank you Jesus. Bless you all, give us more

Head on the nail
Trina really didn't act up like she can
Very fair assessment
Like James Brown says, John was playing drums but on the piano. 🎹
OMG looovvveeee that old school sound from the piano. Many churches nowadays don't have a traditional pianos. Now it's keyboards.
the hammond is becoming existent

3 great musicians 3 great approaches to classic songs

Yes. Yes. Yes. This music fills me with Joy, and gives me Hope for humankind.
Thank you for sharing these gifts. Blessings

How in the world did you pull this off????? Awesome!
Man Glenn is life I love him😭😭
Glen is on another planet. All are nice musicians but Glen is just plain ridiculous. Thanks for posting.
If you know the history, Glenn got a lot of what he knows today from these two amongst others but definitely John.
Bacardi Jr. Well Glen has definitely taken what he learned from them and taken it to a whole new level. That brother is a beast.

John peters gave about 60 percent if u ask me
Melvin Stapleton Glenn is definitely better in my opinion
WHAT?!?! No fingerwork shown for John Peters on the B3? Do over!
John definitely holding back bruh! btw...... where was Cory?! just sayin

Tidewater VA??? If so it doesn’t surprise me! Some of the best keys player in that area for sure all day!!!
Que bien suena eso Cuanta armonia Me gusta ...La verdad

6:26-6:27 just BLESSED ME!!!! 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂😂😂🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣😂🤣🤣😭😭😭
The release on that keyboard is ridiculous that mug is at like -100 lolol
John Peters left hand though

Tidewater, Ima need you not to cuss, lol!!!
Lol....gotta tell satan to get thee behind him.
Really
So 80s? That sound at the beginning was 40s and 50s. LOL

The singer was a distraction. I noticed it when John Peters was looking at him. The musician has to go with the flow.
Hey 3deeguy. This was INTENTIONALLY done, to show the listners how to flow regardless of the singer. And John was looking to see where i was going....

I didn't think so
Yeah ...was singing the hymns properly....jacking up words & tempo lol
wow. love the musicians, but I absolutely hate an out of tune piano
They're playing a lot of chord progressions that don't make any sense. These guys are horrible.
