Don't Get Excited For Dragon Age: Dreadwolf

- Dragon Age: Dreadwolf doesn't just look like a disaster because it's modern day Bioware making it, the actual game itself has gone through development hell.
How many games out there that were built as a live service and had some of it stripped away late in development actually turn out to be good? I can't think of any as games built as live services are built with very different priorities to a traditional single player game.
Ignoring all that, the actual people making this game appear to be the poor man's version of those who actually made the better titles (Dragon Age: Origins etc.). Most competent people appear to have fled the studio when they were in the middle of Anthem & Live Service Version of Dragon Age 4.
I guess we'll find out in a week or so if rumours are true and we get the gameplay reveal... - Ігри
Dragon age lost its identity after origins, it was supposed to be dark fantasy rpg series but dragon age 2 was more of an arpg and inquisition was a pseudo mmo,
God only knows what dreadwolf is going to be but I have zero expectations for it I would be very surprised if it turns out to be good.
Don't worry. I'm not excited. Once upon a time sure, but I know modern Bioware.
If you like medieval games and don’t care about the fantasy portion so much, I think KingdomeComeDeliverace2 will be to your liking.
I loved the first game and the second one looks extremely good. 👍
DA4 after a ten year wait is going to be humiliated by a game already released that was everything I would have hoped Dragon Age 2 could have been and more. Baldur's Gate 3 is Bioware's nemesis.
Yeah I did love DAO but I'm not really expecting much with dreadwolf. If it doesn't turn out to be terrible I'll probably pick it up at some point but I'm not getting it day one or anything, we'll see what happens I guess.
@@K.R.98 KCD is my favorite game so indeed that is the one game I'm properly looking forward to.
@@distantthunder12ck55 BG 3 does a lot right, but filled with too much woke nonsense drowning the story for my liking. Didn't help that I played on release to a buggy mess with large portions missing from the final acts.
You are right about DragonAge. Dr Ray Mayzurka I think his name is who was GM and one of the owners /creators of Bioware after BG2 decided not to try to make another one. Allegedly Wizards of the Coast was difficult to work with back then. Instead one of their employees a graphic artist named David Gaider came to the owners/leadership and pitched a game he developed called DragonAge. Gaider became lead writer and the rest is history.
Bioware wanted to make DA4 an SP game, EA overruled them and wanted a live service and cancelled the game. They forced the next DA to be alive service. Then after setbacks with Anthem and Starwars Battlefront EA relented and the game was remade into a SP game.
Patrick Weekes worked on Mass Effect but had a falling out with the game director Casey Hudson over Hudson's bad decisions on ME3 and so to smooth things over I believe he transferred to DragonAge and worked with Gaider. When Gaider left Patrick was appointed lead writer. However I am unsure he still holds that title.
There is a nice discussion online I forget where Weekes and Josh Sawyer of Obsidian debated the value of having romances in video games. Weekes is for them Sawyer is against them. It's quite entertaining .I expect we will see romances in Dreadwolf.
Off topic but I remember the Bioware Social Network. Gaider use to moderate it at times and would get into arguments with the fans. Some fans were against romances in Inquisition and wanted Bioware to not have romances /remove them or make them dlc only. Gaider of course refused and got into arguments with the fans. And the fans constantly argued with each other. It became so toxic Bioware shut it down.
I was a member of the BSN. smile. Those were the days.
I probably won't buy the game unless it gets stellar reviews. I would hope it is a success. If it flops EA could very well pull the plug. and close the studio.
I never liked Bioware. Not even in the Infinity Engine days. Vapid dating sim trash with ever increasingly dumbed down combat. SSI's D&D games were better relative to what could be achieved with the technology of the time. However, I do recall Gaider constantly getting into arguments on RPG forums back in the day. He was near univeraslly moked and disliked by the harcore RPG crowd.
@@doomedrpgproject4473agree romances is cringe, and draws in weirdos into the community, go try to read a bg3 groups ...lots of freaks, sexually obsessed with the characters and taking about In detail
Trusting EA (any AAA dev really) to make a good game that isnt full of garbage mtx and dei checkboxes is just idiotic at this point. Paying $70 for it is even moreso. I wait til most games are $20 til i go in on them. Got fooled by ff16, never again, im done payin full price
I'm dreading this game.
You'd have to be a fool to still be excited for Bioware content. More "AAA" Hollywood ESG slop.
Dragon age origins is UTTERLY amazing to this VERY DAY! The BEST in the series. I am NOT getting dragon age dreadwolf day one. I will wait about a year+ after the disappointment of ME3 and Andromeda(That is on a whole another level)
I was a hardcore bioware fan since the beginning. Inquisition made me go huh. Andromeda broke me and anthem was a confirmation that I was no longer going to get old bioware gold or even bronze. I loved Inquisition at start, then took off the rose tinted glasses and now I can't touch it or andromeda.
No thanks, got lectured enough by the character that was supposed to Sten. Life is strange.
I not excited for it, but I`m looking for reviews once it gets released, you know, one of those "Okay I`ll look into it once it`s available and not priced at +100$ USD".
Dragon Age 2 was my first dragon age game. I still have a soft spot for it. Shame because if Dreadwolf bombs, bioware might actually get shut down. They won't be missed though.
This one is not even on my radar and I loved BG1, 2 and 3, ME 1 and 2. Just not even bothering to follow it.
You were right, unfortunately.
I wasn't... it was worse than I could of ever expected!
its not even called Dreadwolf anymore so, yeah... They cant even figure out a name for the game, imagine the actual game
Thank you for reminding me of Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. I need to put that on my list.
I haven't been excited for BioWare game since Dragon Age: Origins... nothing they've released after was any good ^^
Neither ME 2?
@@geraldballa7219 I'm not a fan - an alright adventure story game, terrible RPG and below average third person shooter. Very dumbed down compared to something like KOTOR before it. This trend is visible in subsequent iterations of Dragon Age. My problem with it is entirely on the gameplay side. I can see why people who weren't into RPGs liked it but I do not have fond memories of it personally, it was an absolute chore to get through. But then again, Mass Effect people aren't exactly lining up to play Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous either.
ofc it will... look at their 2-3 last games, bioware is an f-ing joke for a decade now, even a bit longer... and they own by ea ffs. But I guess some people like to eat s$it., well good job, you people f-ed up industry for all of us, gamers.
Not wasting my money on this. It won't be like the first one.
I'm not hyped for Dreadwolf, but I honestly hope Bioware can rally a bit after hitting bottom with Anthem. One thing in their favor is that they set up a really interesting antagonist and a compelling central conflict.
puting more DEI and making for moden gamer F all that i will watch it FLOP.
Did anyone ever get excited about any new game from the old Bioware franchises since it became 100% EA?
Not even the hardcore fans of Dragon Age have hopes about this project. But probably current day Bioware doesn't care about the old fans, the'll be aiming to the "Modern Audiences" anyways.
A billion red flags.
I mean you are like, two, three years behind for this take, but hey, you got there
Then again who knows, maybe it will blow as all of our chairs, just remember to wait for reviews and uncurated gameplay videos
Playing through all 3 recently, on inquisition again now... I know I shouldnt be but I'm still hyped lol silly me
I'm looking forward to this game. It's certainly had a couple of false starts, but I've never played a BioWare game I didn't enjoy, even the 'average' ones. We'll see gameplay in a couple of days, so we can judge based on hard information then.
Well, I find the entire series to be massively over-rated, including Origins. They're all pretty bad, frankly.
DAO was the only one worth anyone's time. DA2 was basically a poor man's jRPG with copypasted content, and DAI was a boring beyond belief single player MMO.
I totally agree with this.
Tho, in DA2's defense I have to say that it has a great story, great protagonist and companions, cool antagonists, and personally, I liked the fast paced combat.
When they are trying to make the selling points sex, nudity, sexual orientation the selling point. The games storyline and fighting is probably not going to be very good.
I will say looking at a brief history of corinne busche I am confident that she was a good pick. I would be more concerned if she had a mobile gaming or live service back history but she doesn't. Gender doesn't matter here. The thing that is most concerning is the troubled long development time. Something happened and we don't know if that will be visible in the final product. I don't see how it can be worse that inquisition, which had an mmo feel to it even though it was single player.
Its going to be MSA quality with x10 wokery
Inquisition wouldn't let you date the darwf if i remember right 😂
Don't worry. They "fixed" scout harding in veil guard. Now you wouldn't want to.
I'm not excited at all. its been 15 years. no indication at all what its going to be like. we have no in game pics or footage. bioware is not the studio they used to be. their last two games flopped. MEA and Anthem. its not looking good.
15 years ago it was DAO since they release DA2 in 2011 and DAI in 2015
It will probably be less about swords and magic and more about SJW themes
lol, im never excited for these trash games. Welcome to Dragon Age, black and gay edition.
Gay and trans edition, there's no black characters

@@jeice452 theres nothing i find sexier than a busty redhead, with thick thighs, and a 9 inch pole. mmmmmmm

Imagine having a passion for game development and you're put to work on slop why does anyone even spend mony on games these days
I worried to
Its worse, so much worse
You were so right bro😞
who in their right mind would ever be excited about da4? anthem is a failure, andromeda is a joke, inquisition is bs, me3 is controversial, da2 is half baked, me2 is shallow af (i know, right). the studio is effectively dead and have been for 10 years at least.
Hear, hear.
You're wrong! I love ME3! .... You're right about absolutely everything else... actually you didn't say ME3 was 'bad' so maybe you're right there, too.
@@bligh1156 me3 is fine, the ending is horrible, extended cut solves nothing and makes some things even worse imo, leviathan leads nowhere and is a waste of time.
@@EasyGameEhYeah can't argue much with that. The other ~60 hours is great. Fun game, I just love the feel of it.
ME2 didnt advance the story unfortunately and its side quests(not the loyalty missions) sucks
Well, I'm not the kind of person to buy games day one, so I won't have much difficulty waiting.
A once amazing role-playing franchise now being helmed by modern-day DEI cosplayer activists concerned with the "message" more than making a good game???
Yeah, uh......no thanks.
dragon age inquisition was very bad and very gay. so I'm not excited for DA Dreadwolf. they also brought back character's no one likes.
No doubt its gonna be a woke-fest, im especially looking forward to seeing the ugly character models and having a good laugh.
Just re-installed DA:O, Jade Empire, BG 2 and Kotor (no present day BioWare shite). Nothing else worth playing, so may as well, enjoy the nostalgia. Patrick Weekes, hell, he's as camp as f*ck (ESG inbound).
No Mass Effect? The first two were 10/10, and 3 was 8/10.
@@Tamamo-no-Bae
I don't like Mass Effect.
@@SeventhheavenDK Sorry to hear that, I still rank it as one of the Bioware classics with the same soul as the rest.
@Tamamo-no-Bae there's probably too much science and brown people for him to like it lol
The initial plan to make DATV a multiplayer live service game definitely explains the more action-based model we saw in the gameplay reveal, rather than the tactical RPG that its predecessors followed. It really is a jumbled mess of ideas repurposed from a different game entirely.
Bro after Andomeda and Anthem and if you dig aliitle deep on Dreadwolf i have no hope + under EA aka there is no hope.but wait Mass Effect 5 aka 4 sure copium zombies sure
After being completely disappointed 4 times in a row on AAA releases.. im done. I only buy indie games now
Dead Island 2 - shit
Starfield - beyond shit, worse even
Stalker 2 - already talking about loot boxes ...
Inquisition has to be one of the most overated rpg of all time. Awful gameplay, useless open world, the most boring fetch quests I have ever seen. Origins is the only good game in the franchise (and it was amazing, such a waste...)
Unfortunately, with Bioware track record in the last 12 years, it's hard to have any hope for Dreadwolf
I think it was overrated only at first.
Nowadays, most actually see Inquisition as the most flawed game that it is.
A total downgrade from Origins.
@SeventhheavenDK I don't think so. It has gotten more controversial, players are divided about this game, but overall isn't considered trash in the same way as Mass Effect Andromeda or Anthem for example.
And to me, it definitely belongs to that category.
DA 1 was good, deserves a remake and DA 2 could have been better if it had more time, its was made in less than two years
DA1 at least deserves a remaster that gets rid of a lot of it's problems. DA2 on the other hand deserves a remake so it's actually finished in the sense of not being rushed. But honestly wouldn't really trust Bioware with either project these days.
What a vision-less mess bioware is. Don't expect dreadwolf to be good, it's gone through development hell for years and it will be full of DEI
Let's just say I won't be preordering and will be checking out gameplay reviews before purchasing DA Dreadwolf.
But they DO have a singular vision for this project. Bioware's DEI agenda is laser focused and all in. Story? Activists Devs along with Writers of all kinds don't even care about making some original story. It's irrelevant to the message. Sounds incredible and not possible but these type of Devs and Showrunners have said this very thing many many times. This was exactly what happened to The Witcher on Chicflix. The whole concept and story was handed to her, it was a perfect project ready to go out of the box. All the showrunner had to do was convert the books to screen and you're golden. So Ofc that was not her motives to take on the project she admitted "disliked the books" "written by some rich old White man"
THESE are the kinds of people in charge of projects mostly aimed at males. Netflix, Disney, Bioware, etc.. They have zero interest in making the stuff we guys have enjoyed over our lives. It's all about normalizing the new social order to us, the ones they need to get on board to exact real change. Cut the bs, no they are not just that dumb, yes they already know it will flop, You don't just try to brainwash an entire society for a couple of years, flop big, and call it quits, it takes time for brainwashing to really start to set in.
Sincerely - cut the bs and get down to the real truth -
Honestly guys, you already know exactly what Bioware's newest RPG is going to be. I wish everyone would just drop it and let it die unceremoniously instead of all the UA-cam hate watch/talk this game is going to recieve for at least a year after launch.
I played Inquisition, but my mage character always seemed so underpowered. Never strong enough, never enough stuff to upgrade my gear, boring repeating quests, etc. The big decision point felt like it did nothing to the game so why did I waste my time to no effect. Nothing but a damn slog to the end. I only finished it because I spent money on it.
Yeah, every game has become less and less appealing as the series has gone on, for me anyway. The people who were there during Origins and ME1 are long gone. It's bioware in name only now.
I'm keeping my expectations very low. I am absolutely not going to pre-order this and will only consider buying it after I watch some reviews and gameplay footage as I now do with all games.
I am not looking forward to this game at all. (All of these reasons and others)
I'm laying odds that Bioware will not offer significant news (i.e. game play) next week. I don't count release dates as important news, how many titles have been delayed at the last minute?
I always felt Iquisition was off. Unlike in the previous 2 games, there were no good looking datable women characters. Say what you want about DA2, but the girls were hot af. Years later I realized why that was. So yeah... DA Dreadwolf is already a hard pass for me.
I didn't have high hopes, but a blue-hair and a gendermancer? It's screwed.
Ofcourse it will flop. its fucking Dragon Age
Solas was right 'This world is not worth saving'
Series died after origins
It just came from nowhere. Bro give it a chance
I used to be really excited for this game since it's my favorite series/franchise. Not anymore, the writing isn't what it used to be
I keep forgetting this game is still coming.
Great work pal! I always look forward to your reports. Best regards, Chris from Carlisle, UK
Man, if only there was an award winning team that just got cut from WOTC that could colab with Bioware that could make an amazing tactical RPG...
lol, those devs look like an out of season April's Fool's joke. My expectations were low, but damn.
It's so sad to see this decline, I used to be a giant Bioware fan until around ME3. (yeah, I even sorta liked DA2).
I hope EA does the right thing and takes this studio behind the shed.
Jesus, you could play the new Crocodile Dundee...in fact you probably should.
I still remember feeling like i'd taken crazy pills when Dragon Age Inquisition released, It was receiving multiple prizes and and game of the year awards, DA fans also seemed to love it.
I found it repulsive, everything i liked about DA Origins was nowhere to be seen.
The smaller hand crafted locations, the dark fantasy tone, the morally ambiguous characters were all exchanged for massive, bloated open areas, filled with useless collectibles, barely any towns or NPC's to talk to, cartoony and annoying message pushing main characters.
The final drop for me was that damn musical, where everyone suddenly start singing, that's where i deleted it from the hard drive and never looked back.
You deleted it before actually getting to Skyhold and getting your promotion? 😂
Shadows fall
And hope has fled
It's cause of all the alphabet slop and Tumblr bs, between how fugly sera was and how sexualized iron bull was certain communities will ignore every negative aspect of that game
@@DeShawnMcDonald fantasy genre has always been ahead when it comes to as you put it, alphabet slop, so probably why fantasy fans didn't care. You're playing a game with elves and qunari lmao
@ThatGuyThai exactly we didn't care, now the groups I mentioned care about nothing else and it ruins Fandoms and forces lores to be changed to suit modern political narratives
Im just a big fan of the story and the lore. Plenty of us fans are excited for it, but all of us are weary and cautious. We already know it might not be good. But we want a good story, to see our old companions again, and closure.
Look, Bioware never was good. I don't know why people think otherwise. Their main stories boring, and then they are adding up companions with their insufferable crap which you have to solve. And the other RPGs parts like number crunching and actual gameplay basically non existent in Bioware games.
Add increasing levels of wokeness on top with each next game. And I mean first DA/ME is already was diverse enough to feel like tokenism extravaganza.
And then people surprised by dumb ending of ME3. Have you guys played those games or just get save file before completion? It was clear were it's going.
Now same people who was bad at writing gonna write even more woke stuff. No big surprise.
I'm not excited, but I'm pretty much with everyone else asking the big questions; Who are these game made for? Old fans don't like it, new fans who join the hype train after playing DAI are confused by the total mechanic overhaul, casual players snub its existence. So...whose boots they trying to lick off here?
Most glaring critic on the trailers is on the gameplay one, as people goes out saying that you can't be effective mage characters with so little slot for spells compared to previous DA.
Inquisition came out late 2014, then in May 2015, just a year later, Witcher 3 came out. And also Bloodborne in the same year. The world and characters in Witcher 3 make Inquisition look like a shallow puddle that doesn't even reach your ankles.
I didn't know someone makes the call to sell or not for the games for the Companys that make them - that's to bad - GOSH - their should be a way that all Companies should be able to post their games - since games are downloaded these days - all games will sell and keep selling and that's a fact - Curiosity killed the cat - HAAA!
All we can do is hope and wish it’s good. To this day, I never finished inquisition. As said in the video, it felt like an mmo. Without being an mmo. Lots of walk around and collect stuff. Idk. Not great. Really liked origins and 2. All we can do is hope.
Wish they would give origins a remaster like mass effect over a new game like dreadwolf because i know for sure they are making this new dragon age game for modern audience.
I couldn't stand Inquisition, all the large repetitive areas, the combat felt like laser beams as they got rid of the tactics and everything was just different spam button to kill things
RIP to another good franchised, knowing the modern day bioware, we are going to get bugged filled game with the same mainstream message included in it.
As more details come out, the less I care, this game is really staring to sound like a Disney movie, and most of their movies are flopping
Just based off of the title, this video has nothing worth to say beyond it unless they also proclaim to be an oracle inside it.
Only big game I care about this year so far is KCD2. That’ll be the RPG I will play.
I thought inquisition was amazing
Haven't cared since like 2018 lmao

Why are you telling?
Are you kidding, get excited!?
EA = evil arts.
Curious to see if it will appear on Kabrutus's SBInc detector.
And how many live-service "features" (bugs) have carried over into the final release? Also, DreadWoke? I'm copyrighting that one now.
there will be rainbows everywhere, so no i won't be excited lol
MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA IS THE BEST IN THE SERIES! I LOVE THE NEW BIOWARE AND CAN'T WAIT FOR DREADWOLF! IT WILL BE THE HIGHEST RATED GAME ON META CRITIC EVER! ARE YOU HYPED????? IM HYPED TO THE MAX BABY LETS GO!
...Get out, shill.
As on one the people who were introduced to the franchise in Inquisition: as long as Dreadwolf is as good as inquisition and learned from its flaws, I will still be excited for the game. Ironically I liked origins less than 2 and Inquisition. xD
"Single player MMO" is an excellent description of inquisition.
Mark darrah is helping make dragon age dreadwolf he is one of the creators of the whole dragon age series and is there I have faith in Mark darrah making dragon age dreadwolf awesome
I mean, he was there with all the problems that DA2 have (even when I like the game, I am not blind to it's flaws).
And he was also there with Inquisition, mediocre game at best.
Darrah is NOT any kind of guarantee.
so many red flags i thought it was an amusement park ! 😛
ur not the boss of me.
I'm hyped I've love all the dragon ages through out the years and i really believe in the team working on this game
The game is now called Dragon Age: Veilguard and the games director who identifies as a "Queerosexual Gendermancer" has labelled the game "inherently queer"........ over and out.
Can say with upmost confidence that this game is a definitive write off.
🤢
not gonna buy it instead i will go to warhammer if things turned bad
It is really quite idiotic to make this prediction, since you don't know a damn thing about the game. If you're wrong, you are going to look like an absolute fool, aren't you.
But we do know a few things, and those things we know are not in favor of a good gaming experience. So it is a safe bet this will be bad. I think most hope Bioware proves us wrong and produces a fantastic game, I just have very little hope for that given the "modern developers".
This guy just like to shit on things that's like his whole character
Found the EA shill.
There are more than enough red flags to predict this game will be a joke. Now I loved DA:O so I truly hope Bioware proves us all wrong, but we all know this is highly unlikely.
Have you seen the lead writer and game director of dreadwolf? lol there is nothing more to add xD
