If his mom had custody of Bennett.. how did Stephen have him that day? I understand the concept of visitation, but Bennett was removed because of Stephen’s sexual misconduct so, I wouldn’t think unsupervised visitation was an option. If it was.. shame on whomever made that decision. If it wasn’t, she should have been arrested.. but maybe officials felt she’d suffered enough.

The enabled Steven to take advantage of his young daughter instead of taking a stand for what they knew was right!! They should have clearly stated that this was unacceptable and illegal and that they were not going to support it in any way. Same with Alyssa - she should have called the police the minute she knew there was a sexual relationship between them. Katie needed an adult to step in and stop this abuse.
She was their pregnant daughter and she probably begged them to come. I'm sure they hated the situation, but didn't want to completely lose contact with their daughter.

There's *supposedly* a thing called Genetic Sexual Attraction. I think it usually occurs when 2 people who are related to each other and apart for a long period of time and become attracted to each other bc they didn't form the right kind of bond or something? I'm not 100% sure with all the details but I read about it a few months or so ago.

For whatever reason, alot of adoptive parents will be extra with their "love & support" when it comes to standing by their childs side.... most cases are criminal like robbery, some even murder, but I'm not sure about incestuous relationships with their biological children and murder suicide as well... that's a doozy.. this case is so sad. Theres some weird thing about chemicals and connection with people who have no idea they're actually related, and then becoming romantically involved.

However, the OP is correct that some adoptive parents will support their kid regardless of what horrible things they do/decisions they make/etc. My father was adopted and my grandparents literally act like he walks on water. He went to prison for abusing me - which they never believed - and when he got out, they bought him a house. Obviously some biological parents also think their children can do no wrong, but I think it's even more common when you feel that you've chosen that kid..
I normally try not to criticize the victims families in these types of cases because obviously hindsight is 20/20 but how in the hell do you go to the wedding of your adopted daughter and her BIOLOGICAL FATHER... I’m all for supporting your kids but there’s certain areas where you draw the line and THIS is one of those areas.

This is called GSA (genetic sexual attraction) and she was failed by her adoptive parents, before meeting your biological family you are meant to have GSA counselling of some kind to prevent these feelings. I had to go through it before meeting my biological family. This is an awful case and she should never have been allowed to move in with them so quickly especially as he was obviously so evil and had previously abused Katie.
Yeah, I knew about cases like this from Law and order SVU and somehow thought GSA was nog a real thing just on the show. But this case is an example of it and its so tragic that no one intervened.
gsa is complete bullshit anyways. There is no evidence for genetic sexual attraction being an actual phenomenon, and the hypothesis is regarded as pseudoscience. Stop trying to explain incest and make it seem less bad than what it really is.

The biological mother is the only person that did do something. Wasn't she the one that reported them for incest and had them arrested? I think she was ththe one who called police. After the arrest is when Katie came to her senses and tried to leave him. This case is unbelievable.. I can't blame Alyssa really, I think she tried to stop it. I feel terrible for her younger daughters though, it had to be so messed up to have such a big shift in life. Everybody around Katie made stupid mistakes with her. She didn't have one responsible adult to guide her and ultimately take her away from a psycho father and so she ended up dead. So sad.
Her adoptive "real" dad, never liked the idea of Katie being with Steven and even was the reason why Katie separated from Steven, as he convinced her enough to finally break it off but by then it was too late. The only reason why adoptive dad, Tony Fusco, went along with the wedding was because he saw there was no changing his daughter's mind and wanted to make her happy, seeing how in love she was.
I've heard this case before and it's absolutely horrific. This should NOT have happened and had both of Katie's sets of parents, biological and adoptive, had a backbone we would not be here. I am not victim shaming. I am speaking from a mother's heart and perspective. In all honesty Katie would not have been conceived at all, because if a grown ass man wanted to come into MY home to sleep with my underage daughter, it would be the last trip he ever took. She needed to relay the most relevant (at the moment) info to police. Had she said "my son killed his son who is also his grandson and his wife who is also his daughter and her father who adopted her...." that phone call would have been hard for 911 to understand. They only need to know who what where when and if possible why. They don't need the personal details in a 911 call. The call just needs to be fast and informative but doesn't need all the gross details. Of course she knew it would all come out soon.

@@joditorkelson8649 It's not her fault because when she'd come into the bedroom to find Steven in Katie's room, and Alyssa would question it, her daughter would shush her away, saying that it's best for the mother to remain in her bedroom separate from Steven for the sake of peace as they were bickering during those days, and basically just to let things cool down in the house BUT really, was a lie to get her alone time w/her biological dad and that's how she got pregnant fast and easy, during those nights.... since he'd sneak into her bed and Katie would welcome it while the mom was trusting her daughter's words and sleeping peacefully in her bedroom. Of course the dad groomed/ manipulated the daughter, but also she didn't "respect" her mother either. Regardless, it's sad that she had to die so young and in such a horrible way, sucks for the adoptive father, the real father who genuinely loved Katie and felt forced to support his daughter's decision to marry her bio dad, but even after the marriage he convinced Katie to end things with Steven and when she finally DID, it got them both killed. Adoptive dad was a good family man w/a big heart.

The crazy thing is that this isn't even that uncommon. In a pych class we went over some stories where children who were adopted or raised by only 1 parent met their bio parent and "fell in love." There is a lot of research involved in these cases but it was hard to pay attention to anything other than my roiling stomach

The most infuriating thing to me is the grandma being handed custody because neither parent was fit but then she gave him the baby after he told her the “relationship” had ended, with no second thoughts, no call to the babies mother. That baby could have been saved if it wasn’t for out right negligence.
I have a six and a half month old baby boy. The joy he finds in absolutely everything is literally the most beautiful thing on the earth. I can not imagine. Truly can not even imagine. Some people are so disturbed. I feel incredibly sad for all the victims of this sick monster- and do have sympathy for Katie to some extent- but that poor baby boy. He really made none of these choices- pressured or not. Nothing was his fault and my heart is broken for him (I know his life may have been difficult with the circumstances in which he was conceived, But dying isn’t better) and all those who loved him.
Cases like this have always fascinated me. There are several where parent and child are separated then years later meet and have romantic attraction. Siblings too. Is it a trauma response only? Do these people just have something in their brain that just is easily triggered to this scenario?
I have heard in some of the adoption groups I’m in of fb, you have strong feelings when you find a family member and those feelings get very confusing and the attraction and excitement of it all can get confusing.

Some people can be so insecure! This Steven guy didn't have any backbone. A friend of mine once told me that he and a first cousin were in love. Months later she called and told him that she wanted to end the relationship because it wasn't right. Though heartbroken, he understood and accepted that wise decision like a man. I mean he didn't go out and take some lives and then his own.

This case is making me mad. 15 yo Alyssa leaves home with an adult man and no ones cares. I would call a police on him if I were her parents. And when he abused little Denise (Katie)! Again, CPS or police should have been called and arrested him on the spot. And marrying and impregnating his daughter and noone calls police again. The families, both biological and adoptive, are absolutely abnormal. Poor Bennett. He was the only innocent one in all of this.

The enabled Steven to take advantage of his young daughter instead of taking a stand for what they knew was right!! They should have clearly stated that this was unacceptable and illegal and that they were not going to support it in any way. Same with Alyssa - she should have called the police the minute she knew there was a sexual relationship between them. Katie needed an adult to step in and stop this abuse.
She was their pregnant daughter and she probably begged them to come. I'm sure they hated the situation, but didn't want to completely lose contact with their daughter.

There's *supposedly* a thing called Genetic Sexual Attraction. I think it usually occurs when 2 people who are related to each other and apart for a long period of time and become attracted to each other bc they didn't form the right kind of bond or something? I'm not 100% sure with all the details but I read about it a few months or so ago.

For whatever reason, alot of adoptive parents will be extra with their "love & support" when it comes to standing by their childs side.... most cases are criminal like robbery, some even murder, but I'm not sure about incestuous relationships with their biological children and murder suicide as well... that's a doozy.. this case is so sad. Theres some weird thing about chemicals and connection with people who have no idea they're actually related, and then becoming romantically involved.

However, the OP is correct that some adoptive parents will support their kid regardless of what horrible things they do/decisions they make/etc. My father was adopted and my grandparents literally act like he walks on water. He went to prison for abusing me - which they never believed - and when he got out, they bought him a house. Obviously some biological parents also think their children can do no wrong, but I think it's even more common when you feel that you've chosen that kid..
I normally try not to criticize the victims families in these types of cases because obviously hindsight is 20/20 but how in the hell do you go to the wedding of your adopted daughter and her BIOLOGICAL FATHER... I’m all for supporting your kids but there’s certain areas where you draw the line and THIS is one of those areas.

This is called GSA (genetic sexual attraction) and she was failed by her adoptive parents, before meeting your biological family you are meant to have GSA counselling of some kind to prevent these feelings. I had to go through it before meeting my biological family. This is an awful case and she should never have been allowed to move in with them so quickly especially as he was obviously so evil and had previously abused Katie.
Yeah, I knew about cases like this from Law and order SVU and somehow thought GSA was nog a real thing just on the show. But this case is an example of it and its so tragic that no one intervened.

I realize she was an adult but I would have refused to have condoned this relationship in any way and certainly would NOT have attended the wedding and smiled at that! Her adoptive "real" dad, never liked the idea of Katie being with Steven and even was the reason why Katie separated from Steven, as he convinced her enough to finally break it off but by then it was too late.
The only reason why adoptive dad, Tony Fusco, went along with the wedding was because he saw there was no changing his daughter's mind and wanted to make her happy, seeing how in love she was.
I've heard this case before and it's absolutely horrific. This should NOT have happened and had both of Katie's sets of parents, biological and adoptive, had a backbone we would not be here. I am not victim shaming. I am speaking from a mother's heart and perspective. In all honesty Katie would not have been conceived at all, because if a grown ass man wanted to come into MY home to sleep with my underage daughter, it would be the last trip he ever took. She needed to relay the most relevant (at the moment) info to police. Had she said "my son killed his son who is also his grandson and his wife who is also his daughter and her father who adopted her...." that phone call would have been hard for 911 to understand. They only need to know who what where when and if possible why. They don't need the personal details in a 911 call. The call just needs to be fast and informative but doesn't need all the gross details. Of course she knew it would all come out soon.

@@joditorkelson8649 It's not her fault because when she'd come into the bedroom to find Steven in Katie's room, and Alyssa would question it, her daughter would shush her away, saying that it's best for the mother to remain in her bedroom separate from Steven for the sake of peace as they were bickering during those days, and basically just to let things cool down in the house BUT really, was a lie to get her alone time w/her biological dad and that's how she got pregnant fast and easy, during those nights.... since he'd sneak into her bed and Katie would welcome it while the mom was trusting her daughter's words and sleeping peacefully in her bedroom.
Of course the dad groomed/ manipulated the daughter, but also she didn't "respect" her mother either. Regardless, it's sad that she had to die so young and in such a horrible way, sucks for the adoptive father, the real father who genuinely loved Katie and felt forced to support his daughter's decision to marry her bio dad, but even after the marriage he convinced Katie to end things with Steven and when she finally DID, it got them both killed. Adoptive dad was a good family man w/a big heart.

The crazy thing is that this isn't even that uncommon. In a pych class we went over some stories where children who were adopted or raised by only 1 parent met their bio parent and "fell in love." There is a lot of research involved in these cases but it was hard to pay attention to anything other than my roiling stomach

I have a six and a half month old baby boy. The joy he finds in absolutely everything is literally the most beautiful thing on the earth. I can not imagine. Truly can not even imagine. Some people are so disturbed. I feel incredibly sad for all the victims of this sick monster- and do have sympathy for Katie to some extent- but that poor baby boy. Cases like this have always fascinated me. There are several where parent and child are separated then years later meet and have romantic attraction. Siblings too. Is it a trauma response only? Do these people just have something in their brain that just is easily triggered to this scenario?
I have heard in some of the adoption groups I’m in of fb, you have strong feelings when you find a family member and those feelings get very confusing and the attraction and excitement of it all can get confusing.

This case is... I don’t even know what to say, this is ABSURD. How can it be that this guy, who KNOWS full well that this young lady is his BIOLOGICAL daughter, just enter this very disturbing relationship with her??!! His actions make me sick to my stomach!!🤢🤮

it was wrong but this is not a reason to blame them, if you read the story, police was called several times, katie was in jail, and adoptive parents persuade her to leave steven that is why steven killed them

I love watching ur videos bc ur like the only crime youtuber I watch that does more unknown cases. Usually they all do the same cases literally seems like at the same time as well. They're all cases I've already seen on tv n know well. So I always enjoy coming to u bc it's something new each time.
I am also curious as to why Alyssa’s family allowed her to move to NY as a minor with a grown man! This was the catalyst for this tragedy combined with a psychopathic abusive individual.

I’ve heard this case a couple times before and i keep watching each one regardless because it’s still so hard to comprehend that this is REAL and it’s really happening... could be happening at your neighbors house right now. Some people can be so insecure! This Steven guy didn't have any backbone. A friend of mine once told me that he and a first cousin were in love. Months later she called and told him that she wanted to end the relationship because it wasn't right. Though heartbroken, he understood and accepted that wise decision like a man. I mean he didn't go out and take some lives and then his own.
I have never heard of this case before but suffice it to say, it’s one of the more disturbing stories I have heard. Feel really bad for everyone Steven victimized... what a nightmare.
It leads u to think there is more to the the fact the adoptive parents were so ok with it and how quickly katie was groomed... how was Katie raised in the adoptive home??? How was everything so normalised for so many people?

They lived in my hometown. I remember this case unfold from the time of the incest charges to the bitter end.

This case is making me mad. 15 yo Alyssa leaves home with an adult man and no ones cares. I would call a police on him if I were her parents. And when he abused little Denise (Katie)! Again, CPS or police should have been called and arrested him on the spot. And marrying and impregnating his daughter and noone calls police again. The families, both biological and adoptive, are absolutely abnormal. Poor Bennett. He was the only innocent one in all of this.
