I feel your loss I had to put my 14 yr old boy down a couple of days ago same reason as yours I miss his cry lick hugs and just the look they can give you to melt your heart
Grooming is a way that many species socialise/build relationships. And licking is grooming. They also do a sort of gentle nibbling with their front teeth like they are trying to catch/crack fleas. My current staffy also nibbles or maybe gently nips our ears - as well as licking them.
Nibbling 🤣🤣. My uncle had a wart on his elbow. His dog hated it. He constantly wanted to inspect it. One day my uncle fell asleep on the couch. Andy, his dog saw his opportunity to bite the wart off.🤣🤣🤣
I tell my Staffy girl;" Love your momma" and I get lots of loving licks. This is also to help stop the shelter nipping/biting habit. I wake every day to her licking me awake too.
My Staffy pup (one year old this month - May), has taken up the licking of any where on my body only in the past few months. I'm "researching" why - by that I mean, what is she trying to communicate .... either she wants a head scratch, hearing a lovely dovey comment/voice. I have yet to find out what her licks mean - or is it just "kissing". She usually does it out of the blue. When I had my JRT, he used to lick my hand whenever he was hungry, because sometimes he would go on a "fasting binge" for about 2 days. When the binge was over, he would lick my hand. Back to my Staffie - she loves to plonk her heavy weight on our feet, or stand between our legs, or push her weight our legs. She's also VERY inquisitive and pushes her muzzle in just about everything we are doing - even when the electrician came by to check on our electricity - she was all up in his toolbag, standing at the foot of the ladder, following him around, with ears pricked up!! It's like she wanted to be the "assistant"! Staffies - I have found - are too much!! Too much love and affection, too much cuteness, too much intelligence. I had no problem in disciplining her - she did it all on her own. I guess it's from the various sounds of my voice when I "communicate" with her (good, bad and inbetween), and her extensive vocabulary/understanding. "Skittles" is my first Staffordshire Bull Terrier and I am hooked!!
Everytime I go to Tescos , I eat something nice on the way home so that when I arrive home and the dog licks my face because he thinks ive been hunting - I can easily regurgitate a small pile of vomit for my best furry friend.
OHOOHHOOH!!! Y'all are just laying it all out there. Love it. If One stays in ones masterful position one can become two. Learning each other languages helps strengthen the bond and can develop such a wonderful service animal it's mind boggling. Missing my bitch, almost ready for another one. Blessings to you and yours 😊
This is so funny, I now realise I have been scammed by my Angus. Here am thinking I was in charge but no, I've been scammed big time. No more having him wake me at 6am.
Do you have a video on how to train them out of it because sadly I’ve been this owner with my now 6 1/2-year-old Staffordshire terrier cross. I’ve tried ignoring her, tried giving her nose, a small hit etc

Hey Guys, May I please ask two quick questions if possible? I mean absolutely no offence or malice when I say why is it that almost every video you upload about Staffys, Will always seem to interrupt and his employees don’t get to have much time, if any left at all for them to talk about unfortunately for them? I love your Staffy videos but it would be nice for one of the employees to finish a video that they have started, instead of Will interrupting as almost always, just saying guys? Secondly is it realistic for a male blue staffy ideal weight according to your videos to be around 40lbs give or take? Only my boy in my profile pic is almost 26’ kilos and doesn’t have any excess weight on him? He’s not ripped with muscle, just very solid with great chest but he tapers in at the back as he should do for a nice V shape to his body 🤙🤙
He looks like he has AmStaff, or pitbull genetics in him bro, hence the size and strength of the bugger! A purebred English Staffordshire Bull Terrier should be way less big, mine is very pure genetics, male, and 18kg. I think 20kg is about as big as they get if pure bred

Wolf pack dominance/hierarchy theory has been thoroughly debunked and belongs back in the 1970s. The science about both wolves and dogs has moved on. Dogs, having spent many thousands of years around humans, are not wolves, they behave differently. Their physical and mental characteristics are different, highly variable across breeds. And wolves do not behave in the wild in the same way as an artificial "pack" within the confines of a poorly constructed experiment do in the first place.
Just lost my 14 year old Staffy to cancer. She was the best dog ever. Miss her licks 🐕😪
I'm sorry for your loss.
So sorry for your loss, truly the best dogs ever “ Staffies rule”

“Give kisses”
And he will just start licking you

When dogs lick a person's face it makes them smile and laugh (the person). A staffy loves to make people
laugh and smile. It's kinda their thing.
Yep
It’s great to be licked by a Staffy! It’s cut my water use in half! 😂😂😂

Very informative. I don’t mind being wet most of the day….lol
It can get cold 😆🙄

Why do staffies try to sit their bums on your foot? Every male staff I've had does this.
It's not just a breed thing. If a dog likes you, it wants to be close to you.
