This fits so well because the bell tower is similar to an Eva unit in that it's a tremendously large thing which one person controls, but nobody can see that person while they are at the controls.
What kills me most isnt how surreal it sounds to have an anime opening being played on such an ancient instrument, but that the performer is named PETER PAN. And looking at how Eva deals with growing up (especially in the Rebuilds), this coincidence is mind-boggling

I've always loved the Rockefeller Chapel carillon, since I first discovered it over 50 years ago. The only thing I didn't like was the climb up to the playing cabin. The 200-odd steps weren't as much of a problem as trying to fold my 6' 3" frame under the ductwork while crossing above the chapel ceiling.
I love this piece!!!! My most sincere Kudos for just barely reproducing this piece's rhythm, because this looks Goddamn Hard to control! I hope you were not in pain after this performance. As a pianist, I know the risks of tendinitis and other repetitive strain injuries that come from overusing the wrong muscles, and this looks more physically demanding than piano!
First of all playing this type of instrument is not easy, it would be nice if you had a sliding chair or a chair with wheels, anyway good job, what you did here is amazing.
Wonderfully played. Well done. Would imagine that a pianist or organist after playing the carillon would feel like ankle weights had been taken off. Makes me appreciate the genius of piano and other keyboard instrument key mechanics and technology.
I don't know squat about this thing, except when you push levers, they attach to ropes goes up to the tower and rings bells maybe? Maybe, with some engineering, it could be updated to use electric solenoids to pull the ropes, and then use a modified piano keyboard where the keys are connected to switches that actuate the appropriate solenoid for the bell that matches the key note. Coming from someone that knows only enough to find middle C on a piano.
Interesting instrument. Watching the player she has to be very fit to move around & strong arm muscles. Have subscribed as I must watch more of this instrument.

Well that looks like a hard darn instrument to play. Hell of a job considering the slow reaction speed of the instrument and the upbeat pace of the song.
The pedals play the same notes that the keyboard does. Since these are mechanical bells it takes quite a bit of strength to move the bigger(lower) bells. Which is why she uses her feet to play the lower notes at each octave.

This reminds me of all those videos of people playing their piano covers of songs on out of tune pianos, as though it sounds better out of tune and not horrendous.
My first experience on a carillon was during the spring of 1994 when I met with a Dutch organist in Leiden: I tried to play "¿Cómo puedo yo biuir?", the first villancico of the "Cancionero de Uppsala". Usually I play it on the piano or organ.
"Oh hey, the bell tower's going off. Stick your head out side and see what time it is." Man returns, visibly shaking. "I... I don't know what time it is..."
