Good old school gospel music never dies. The Barrett sisters are the most underrated yet highly anointed singers of our time. God bless these mothers in gospel music!
Like many anointed Gospel singers, they refused to go commercial, refused to sing secular music. Didn't care about Hollywood, TV. Didn't care about big money or world fame.
This is the very best version I have ever heard; I agree with my white sister (yes, I am white); no one does this song like the Barrett Sisters! God bless you! It is your heart I am hearing. Gospel has to be sung from the heart! Thanks for your labors in the Lord!
I love listening to the Barrett sisters....such amazing voices. Truly, it's nothing like hearing good gospel music and the sincerity that's there. What a blessing given by GOD. Thanks!
This is what I grew up with this is what I know this is what I know thank you ladies you sound so pretty I feel my mama and my grandma rest in peace and be with our God
First heard of them in the 1983 film "Say Amen Somebody" about the history of gospel music...a fascinating film! If you're a lover of gospel, it shouldn't be missed.
Songs of my child hood. When I first felt the presence of God in a little baptist church in Mississippi, I never dreamed of the impact it would have on my entire life, from me getting saved at Nine, while listening to songs like this, learning the word and then my falling away as a twelve year old, and coming back around at nineteen and then falling back away again and both times due to lack of understanding. I've been living for God for a little over a year now and the wonderful things he's done in my life within that little time, the understanding and the growth he's brought me too, has been unbelievable. I want to always trust him and believe he knows what he's doing. I want to lean not on my own understanding. Walk this walk on a daily basis. The best thing the created can do is turn to our creator with joy
This selection truly reminds me of my late mother. She loved and lived for traditional gospel music and was a huge find of the Barrett Sisters, Mahalia, The Clara Ward Singers and the like. These ladies can SANG yall!!! Truly Blessed : ) And yes they are very under rated but that does not matter it your "truly" singing for God!
This is so nice! They remind me of church when I was a kid. So much heart and spirit in the voices. The musicians are great, too. I wonder who's the organist? He and the piano player are never in the way. The drummer is so in the pocket, too. Never over playing. This is great!! God Bless This Group and all of you here on UA-cam, too!! :-)
It looks so moving and uplifting to see families (sisters in this regard) praising God and having been doing it for most of their lives. Most families these days turn away from God with some members continuing. I wish God's blessings on the Barrett sisters for their ministry, to those families that are continuing in the Lord, keep up and I wish all others God's strength to return to the cause as God is nigh.
@forhishonorandglory I totally agree with you. It must be sung from the heart. This is the best version I have heard. God certainly dwell in those sisters. May they continue to bless the world with their songs.
This is my cry tonight oh gentle saviour pass me not praise God for this beautiful song

Legends in the singing with the spirit!
Bring back the days of Yea and Nae. When musicians didn’t compete with choirs or singers but accompanied!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Barrett Sisters are underrated here in this world, but they'll be highly rewarded in Heavens.

Delois was not only one of the best gospel singers, but she could hold a revival meeting and preach for an hour.
This selection truly reminds me of my late mother. She loved and lived for traditional gospel music and was a huge find of the Barrett Sisters, Mahalia, The Clara Ward Singers and the like.
