Combo 1: jab, cross ,liver hook, low kick Combo2: jab, left hook, cross, inside low kick Combo 3: left body kick, cross, left hook, low kick Combo 4: cross, left body kick, cross, left hook, right knee Combo 5: body cross, left hook, left body hook, right headkick
What an awesome episode. I must admit that I’m very biased given how much I like the effectiveness of Dutch kickboxing. As a guy with mixed training in various martial arts, I found Dutch boxing to be Occam’s razor of martial arts. Fusion of western boxing and low kicks from karate, with focus on body conditioning, body shots and low kicks.. it’s magnificent
@@KeyserSoze23 as much as I love Muay Thai, Dutch Style flows really well. However look how Damien Trainor blends Muay Thai with the Dutch Style. He makes those two flow as one so well.
You and MMA shredded are the most helpful mma channels to me. You make everything so easy to digest and you get to the details that I miss. Appreciate you brother
123 low kick comes straight from kyokushin, although in kyokushin the body hook is often instead a shovel uppercut to the sternum (shita zuki). either way the principle of slamming three punches and ending with a hard low kick was and still is a very fundamental kyokushin thing
I watch a couple of these MMA trainer youtubers but you really break down stuff explain why they work, and reinforce fundamental stuff that I don't hear other MMA youtubers mention. I really appreciate the content.
That first combo I saw Henri Hooft throw and thought woah this hits all levels. I shall be stealing that. Basically my variants of this are all my best strike combos
Funny, how this guy explains kickboxing combo's are eerily similar to how my drum teacher taught me drumming rudiments. Know the basics and train them until they become second nature.
Dutch kickboxing is quite expensive especially in mikes gym netherlands since that is were the very best kickboxers of glory like rico verhoeven badr hari and gokhan saki train in the past plus dutch kb is the only thing that could rival a martial art like muaythai since other kickboxing are trash also if you practice dutch kickboxing i suggest you should practice some boxing punchess aswell so that it could supplement your dutch style kickboxing
Great detail I love the explanation of why we are throwing each strike and what to expect from your sparring partner thanks I got hard sparring Saturday I'm going to add a few of these
So awesome Gabriel, I will be sure to try the rest of the 4 combos in sparring, and let you know how it goes, the first combo I recognized it because I used to use it a lot, so I will be sure to add it back to my arsenal of combos too and I will keep in mind to preplan my combos! 🎉
Thank you so much for your teaching abilities and knowledge. I box and find your videos so informative Bless you my Brother. Love you technical communication and to see your tallent while explaning helps allot. Two thumbs up
massive thanks for the videos been subscribed for a while and love these follow along training and combos they come in handy to train at home when i can't make kickboxing class due to work
How about some Japanese Kickboxing combos? Stuff with non-clinch knees back to hands etc. Or fast boxing hands into close range karate kicks. Thinking Noiri or Akimoto
Great. I like the combo videos modt. Helps me at teaching, nice and interesting thoughts. But to find own combos, i love to free flow shadow boxing. Do u do that ? Hours of dancing/fighting your shadows ?
Gabriel, when practicing on the heavy bag, do you start your combos at close distance, or is it better to start out a bit farther and "step in" to the combo? I ask because typically you won't be standing close enough to your opponent to throw a combo unless you first step in, or at least step in with your jab.
Hey Gabriel love the content I've learned a lot from your channel. I was wondering if you could do a video on how to defend intercepting counters for examples a intercepting cross that counters a low kick, or a low kick that intercepts your opponents high kick, or a cross thrown with a slipping movent that intercepts the opponents cross and many others. I know a lot of these intercepting counters and love to use them but I'm wondering how to defend or avoid these types of counters when there being used against me.
Hey Gabriel, one thing I struggle with is when I get hit I put my guard up and guard everything. However after they hit a combo or they keep going, I kinda don't know what to do after and just go for a shot that I think I'd hit then I get countered. That invites even MORE shots knowing I don't look confident in my own technique. It seems every time the pressure is on me I always seem to almost freeze up while I guard especially when they're bigger than me. It is very frustrating and demotivating because I've been doing this for a year and I'm getting caught easily by some of the newest guys. Maybe I'm not built for it I don't know
This is hard stuff to dial in. You can get there but proper drilling is required. I'll try to get some more video up for that. And my upcoming defense course is going to have a section dedicated to that.
I got pretty far in amateur boxing when I was younger. I did MMA years later after I got out of the military. I broke my back and it ended my boxing career. Also natural Talent has a lot to do with it. Some people just don't want to spar and fight as well. It really depends on the person, in my opinion. Also it depends on what gym you're at. You need to be at a good gym.

Kickboxing styles blend together so well. It's like an MMA within MMA.
The flow of the Dutch style is what I love most
more than Muay Thai?

As a beginner kickboxer in Amsterdam, these are the exact combinations we learn in the gym! Nice to see!

Same for me but from ernesto hoost
I’ve always liked how active their hands are like no disrespect to boxers but the 3 rounds really push 100% peak performance
Funny, how this guy explains kickboxing combo's are eerily similar to how my drum teacher taught me drumming rudiments.

Moved to the netherlands to study and started kickboxing...did not know they are famous for their style in that combat sport. Nice! :)

Dutch Kickboxing is awesome, and No. 1 is the classic Dutch combo
I appreciate you explaining why the combinations work, especially with the body kick leaving the cross-line open in combo #3.
As always, thanks for the awesome video and its always amazing timing with what I need to work on
I have some dutch ancestry and love the dutch fighting style. I feel honored to have the opportunity, to learn it from such a great fighter like you.
Vargas, just watched your old fights and I can see every combo here applied on your style.

great combos I will try them on my next sparing session, thanks for sharing!
Awesome Gabriel - great reminder & good go to combo's to train for sparring. Thanks!
Do you think you could break down yuki yoza? Hes a k1 fighter and he uses so many interesting techniques. Great work!
I would love to see more of these combos!
I've only started learning dutch kickboxing within the last 6 months and your content has been invaluable Gabriel - thank you so much!
Great combos and explanation. These combos also flow really well.
Glad you like them!

Yeah I wanna see that too as Dutch Kickboxing derives from Japanese Kickboxing.

Duch kickboxing and Japanise kickboxing originate from Kyokushin (full contact) karate, OSU
Heavily influenced by, yes but also Muay Thai influences (for example clinch, knees).

There are so many factors to make into account aside from time in the gym...but that sounds like a great start.
