@@nevininni2709 There seems to plenty of people buying huge, crap Chinese '4WD' vehicles with hideous front grilles. Maybe a lot of people these days have no taste?

It would be madness if KIA didn't read the room and have a TD V6 in the line up when this gets released. A 140Kw/440Nm 4 banger is not going to give many a reason to leave the current market leaders and buy the Tasman.
Totally, like, wasn't the hype of this was the potential of a TD V6 and potential for a Stinger twin turbo petrol engine? Like, without these potential options, this thing will be comfortably middle of the pack, with no edge in the market

I think the presumption that Kia will simply lift and shift the Sorrento 2.2 TDi is selling them short. They have several options such as twin turbo setup like Mitsubishi just did with Triton, mild hybrid with an electric compressor or even a good old bore and stroke to find extra capacity. I seriously can’t see them going to all the effort of building a new platform costing millions and not spending a cent on the drivetrain. Kia don’t seem to be that stupid
Honestly, it looks pretty ripper, I reckon. A bit like a road train, almost, but smaller, and I hope they do it justice as such by giving it a 6 cylinder turbo diesel and manual transmission, because that would truly make it like a miniature road train, which sounds quite choice, to me, at least.
