I will go with the V50. I noticed saturation with the V60 in the daytime photos. The V40 and V50 take more naturalistic pictures and I like that their audio has less noise, but I choose the V50 because it's the later model.
Great comparison. Thank you very much ! Can you also do a comparison between the LG V30 and V50/V60 ? I'm curious how the video recording technology evolved, because my V30 records amazing in 4K with HDR turned ON and with a gimbal. The footage is really amazing for a phone. Either way thank you for still posting videos with LG phones.
Thanks for the comparison! I actually wanted so bad to upgrade my V40 to V60, but the only upgrade I seen in this video was selfie and low light shoots, and what happened to 7:20? Dunno it's software problem with the V60 or it is what it is.
I've been testing my v60 to my v40 and I've also notice that the v40 can certainly do better than the v60 at times. The v40 can focus close to a subject than the V60. The V60 has to be in manual mode to focus closer
Still one of my best go-to channel for camera reviews. My mind is all set after this video. I'm going to get that V50, sooner or later. It's been months watch reviews and comparison for V50 and it never disappoint, except for the 60hz screen and 4000mah battery. So far how is the battery performance of the V50 until now? Hope you could share it too.
That's the only concern rn for the V50 the battery. What is your unit tho for the V50, did you get it refurbished or bn? Refurbished V50 can go up to 200 USD flat here in the Philippines rn without the dual screen.

I completely agree with your opinion Grant that the V50 shoots best of all. I have it too and I dare say it is so. And this is another great video . Keep the good work. Do you thing to buy LG Wing?
Detailed video dude .. king of patience producing a video with so much important information. In my opinion for a user who wants to make videos for UA-cam the LG V5 WOULD BE PERFECT both in image and in audio capture, the LG V60 presents audio reasonably burst indoors but to record outdoors, I believe it brought the high and medium much better, in terms of video LG V60 leaves the images indoors a little washed, now I found the photos of the flowers with the LG V60 very beautiful, sometimes the impression that the photo was based on the Photoshop aspect. LG V40 is quite equivalent to the LG V50. I was in doubt about buying the LG V60 AND THE V50 .. IN TERMS OF VALUES HERE IN BRAZIL the difference is big so I would be with the Reliable LG V50.
The rear cameras i liked the most was the v50s cameras, but i have to say that the v40 handles better in low light conditions and it don't even have a dedicated night mode. The same from the front facing cameras, the v50 is great when it has good lights condition, but the v60 nails it in low light conditions. And the v60 take the greatest portraits photos, has more depth of fields without losing the natural feeling.
In terms of taking still pictures in my opinion it seems to be a tie between V40 and V50. Some pictures look best on the V40, others look best on V50. In the case of the V60, I don't know if it's the image processing or the sensors itself or w/e but in general the pictures just don't look good. They're either unsharp, lack detail, oversaturated and/or inaccurate colors (which makes it looks unnatural), way off white balance or a combination of any of those factors. The only points i can give it on some pictures over the V40 and V50 is it's HDR performance, but overall the V60's camera performance seems to be very disappointing.
That quad HD display is beautiful but the v60 has bigger sensor which let in more light plus it's got a 64 megapixel shooter which is way more than the other two and it's capable of a lot higher resolution 8K video recording but the v40 which I own has one of the most beautiful displays on any smartphone ever LG pioneered the quad HD displays and they showcased it with these 4/5/6 v-series
The V60's front cam video, looks like it's from 2002...Terrible. I was just about to buy a v60 for $200... Please tell me you have manual control over the front cam... It did pick up the dog hair detail the best though.
Excellent Comparo between the 3 phones.Sound wise , the V50 was clear compare to the V60,Seems that the noise reduction was pumped up in a better way on V50. Clear disadvantage for the lack of Night mode on V40 , but the AI compensated a little bit, we have to see detailed pictures tough. V60 in some shots give a yellowish tint to the flesh even tough it picked up more details. The ultrawide on the V60 created a much visible "barrel" , especially notable on the trees ,that they look about to fall over .Overall I will settle for the middle ground of the V50, not always a newer thing is a better thing,(V60 charging terminal problems)... Bigger size compared to the other 2, but that is a matter of comfort ,everybody has different size hands. With 7.72 oz (218 Grams) is a heavier that the V50 with 6.46 oz ( 183Grams)...Things to consider...Great Job as always ,Grant,,,,Thank You Very much for your time and dedication.
I am so torn right now, I think I need to watch this over again on the bigger screen on my computer to see what's up, how ever the performance on all 3 seem so good the V50 seems to produce some much better photos than the V40 in some shots and it also seems to produce some better contrast and details than the V60 in some shots but I still like how the V60 handle some situations especially with some of the white balance and low light. I want to watch again a few more times on the PC to make sure, but I definitely want to get myself a V50 tho. Good comparisons btw.
I'm thinking now to upgrade my v40 to v60. And strange but in other video comparison I saw better performance of v60 especially it was not oversaturated. Here it looks like samsung ))) I'm very interested in v60 vith Gcam. My v40 with Gcam making magic and I believe that v60 with newer sensor has to make bigger magic though...
Does anyone know why the front camera on the v40 is so laggy? I’ve tried restarting my phone and messing around with settings but haven’t figured out why. The rear camera has no issues at all, and the front camera also lags on Snapchat just like in the actual application.
Definitely not a lot of difference but it seems like the V50 exposes darker than the other 2 but it's pretty consistent. Detail wise they all seem similar. The biggest difference that I can see is that the V60 still has this green tint for some reason 🤔 which is sad it would have been an excellent all rounder if it wasnt for that! Definitely agree that the V50 is the best (bit biased since I did have a V50 before 😂 but it does have great cameras)
V50 takes better photos (except night shots). Auto mode in V60 is a little bit worse but everything changes in manual mode. Video on V60 is way better - less noisy, much smoother and steady. I compared this two and I bought V60 for videos. In manual mode it's the best quality, the most natural smartphone camera out there
why are u lying? V60 has this muffled hollow filter that is present throughout their recordings. I know because i have one. Tried so hard to toy with the settings. Go listen to comparisons of v60 videos too. You will know what i mean. That filter will never go away. Also its picking up so much noise when in windy conditions or when loud cars zoom passes, the noise artefacts are unreal.
It's soooo close, I think I'll stick with my V40. If I were buying a new one right now, I would probably still go with the v40 because it is the best bargain. And - except for my charging port crapping out (I'm too lazy to clean it) - it's still a GREAT phone in 2022!
My V40 is dying and I don't know which phone choose. V40 again ? V50 ? V60 ? Or try some new brand ? There are so many possibilities that sticking to LG makes it easier. Anyway, I prefered the V50, slight upgrade on the V40 on photo sharpness. V60 wtf, seemed worst.
I went with a used Samsung S24 Plus of Back Market. I like it a lot. I thought it was about time to get into the 5G space, and it'll last me a while. Cameras are excellent. I don't regret this choice.
Great video!👏 What is better cameraphone for you? Lg v50 or Xiaomi Mi 10t pro? Mainly considering the videos, the color fidelity and also the audio quality. Do you recommend another smartphone for my needs? Thank you!
Don't have the 10T pro, but the V50 main camera is still very good and no one is matching LG's DAC for audio these days. Unless you want to upgrade to something like a Pixel for camera and get an external portable DAC you might be best by sticking with the V50.
@@GrantLikesTech thank you so much! Do you believe that LG V50 can compete against Iphone 13 pro max in terms of photos, videos and audio? I would very much like to know your opinion!
Absolutely agree! I have now v40 & v60. And I can tell that inside the room without sunlight v60 much better. I compared v60 with iPhone 12 pro max and was surprised that v60 better in colour reproduction and details!
Hi grant. Thanks for the video. Lately I've been watching your videos especially related to LG phones, as im currently using LG V30. I've been thinking to switch either to V40 or V50. So based on your opinion, taking into account camera, battery life performance, audio, which is a better buy, V40 or V50? Thanks for your reply in advance😊😊
Alright, thanks bro for the recommendation. Will be missing the LG brand in the smartphone world. Been using LG phones (G5 & V30) for the past 5 years now. Really loved the phones especially with the camera image quality & no doubt the audio quality, great sound😊😊
What's the best version of the V50 to purchase outside the US, for getting updates and possibly being bootloader unlocked? Sprint Verizon European Korean
I would LOVE to see a video/audio comparison between the Mark III and the LG V50/LG V60. I cant easily find how many mics the Sony device has and, regardless, as a content creator I 'm "dying" to hear the audio differences. Maybe in the future...Stay safe, everyone
By the way, Asus Zenphone 7 was said to have three microphones. As well as Pro grade settings for audio and video. I remember Grant doing a review for suggesting alternative to the Flip Zen. LG V50 vs Zenphone 7 vs Sony X1 Mark III That could be put to the video/audio quality comparison test, in a future video. Longshot, I know but Fingers crossed.
As much as i dont want to demoralize my v60, i have to agree some of the commenters here. I also been having quite a few problems with the performance of it, especially with the oversaturation, that extremely obvious and annoying halo effect (looks like dirty lens) and struggle to autofocus on auto mode. Most of the time, i take pictures on manual mode now, and the fact you cant use 64mp mode on manual just sucks as hell. Oh and am not gonna forget that the v60 front cam IS THE WORST IVE EVER SEEN. My old nokia 6 2017 shoots better front pictures (color balance more specifically) than the v60. Other than that, thank you so much for making this video comparison, i was gonna settle with the v50s but the 5kmah of the v60 is just too good to pass since im a really heavy user. I still love my v60 for sure, its just a bit annoying that i have to compromise a bit to get the best shots.
I have V35 cracked screen. Honestly design is perfect for me. No notch. Screen neither to narrow or tall. Thinking about V50 but it doesn't sound like it's good on Mint Mobile...
Is your v50 on android 11 by chance? I know LG is outta there, but my v50 didnt make the cut of android 11 before their departure. It is on june 1st 2021 patch tho.
Keep coming back to this video... Solely Judging the accoustic clarity using a good pair of headphones, in my ears, V40 does have a slightly more clear, louder sound and able to pick up all the background noise too. V50 seems to capture with a tad bit less volume/intensity/clarity (of course, settings can change this). However, V50 shines in wind-cancelling! V40 also doing a very good job in pictures and video. Two great-value phones for content creation... Thank you, Grant
V40 still rocking images .. v50 and v60 r d newest in terms of chipset and ram size and storage and added 8k video and d camera in front are more higher thn d v40.. But still camera images frm v40 still rockin'
I think the v40 did better than the v50 but overall the V60 did better in the dark without crushing shadows as much as the other 2. I also like the vibrancy of the day colours and colour science seems more stable. The v50 loses too much in the dark for the win IMO.
V60 is better for zooming in daylight condition coz of the big sensor and megapixels. However it struggled to focus at times, so v50 is the most consistent camera phone
Who needs a $1200 Iphone or Galaxy. I Use my LGs camares all the time for pics and video. I have 2 LG phones the V50 and V60 use them all the time.I print 8x10s straight from camera to the printer they look like MirrorLess camera prints.
Agree. I bought two LG V40 and V35 phones two years ago outright instead of financing a latest and greatest phone. LG Quad Dac slays! Paid about $550 for both in new cond. Now will keep the V40 and get V60.
V40 & v50 color science is similar v60 takes it different way.You should have mentioned which one is closer to real life. Front mic v40 is good to me v60 is same as v40 but louder & v50 sound different. Low light images v60 is good only when nightmode is activated. With & without ai v40 pic is almost same.Tell me do v40 takes time to capture during night?how is the ai mode on v40 take time compare to other 2 nightmode? I was really shocked to 10x zoom quality is low on v60 despite large 64mp camera! Overall v40 iamges best to me on my g6. I don't know why did you like the v50.

Have you retested the V60 since latest updates?
Is the v60 mobile better for making very good videos?
Or tell me if you have any other opinion.
yeah it is
2023 still using V30, V40 and V50 they're all good conditions 👍
the V60 has the upperhand when it comes to low light but I'd still for the V50 overall
Hi sir. How do I remove the light glare or flare on photos when taking shots of a subject with led lights? I'm using LG V50 stock cam
Why do you think so many reviews say the V50 is mediocre and cameras are mediocre?
Nice Review Sir 💞
Thanks
Do you have any issue sir on lg v50 amdroid 11? How the battery? How long hours interms of normal usage?
I'm using all the three
And v60 has the best primary camera
But the ultrawide isn't even better than v30
Absolutely agree! I have now v40 & v60. And I can tell that inside the room without sunlight v60 much better. I compared v60 with iPhone 12 pro max and was surprised that v60 better in colour reproduction and details!
Which is the best phone for 4k videoRecod?🇱🇰
Thanks for video of comparation
Im waiting for this
which has better sounding dac between v50 and v60?
is this the v50s version? with (S) series?
I'd go V50. Better cameras despite being the same and longer battery life.
Alright, thanks bro for the recommendation. Will be missing the LG brand in the smartphone world. Been using LG phones (G5 & V30) for the past 5 years now. Really loved the phones especially with the camera image quality & no doubt the audio quality, great sound😊😊
Get a v60. More RAM, bigger screen, bigger battery, better cameras, faster chip
Hi! Any chance to compare Lg V50 vs Lg G8X? Same year but slightly different cameras
What's the best version of the V50 to purchase outside the US, for getting updates and possibly being bootloader unlocked?
Sprint
Verizon
European
Korean
Get the Korean domestic version LG V50 v500N, it updates to Android 12 !!
Is V60 refurbished? Ultrawide is surprisingly worse than in V40
Nope, T-Mobile
I can where LG improved over the year's models but the biggest jump in quality seems to be in the audio recording in the V60 .
It seems like all cameras ar3 equally the same outputs
Cool comparison! LG V40 best sound! )))
Grate comparison
Saqlain from pakistan
Thanks, welcome!
Very good video
Thanks!
I'll go for the v50 but what happens v50 :(.
Does it now have face unlock?
V30 gang where u at !!!
I have V35 cracked screen. Honestly design is perfect for me. No notch. Screen neither to narrow or tall. Thinking about V50 but it doesn't sound like it's good on Mint Mobile...
Besides camera quality, which is the better phone?
V60
As for the photo details v40 is the best🥰
V60 has more pixels... but it looks better (to me) in v50. And I love the "video stabilization" of v60. But I prefer the v50 overall.... thanks man...
how about software updates? or android? should i care if it wont update anymore in 1-2 years?
Personally, I'm not. I use a phone for what it does today, not what it could be in the future.
Hi, Lg v50 vs lg g8x
Nice vid, yay I’m first!
V40 still rocking images .. v50 and v60 r d newest in terms of chipset and ram size and storage and added 8k video and d camera in front are more higher thn d v40.. But still camera images frm v40 still rockin'
excellent review, I would not be upgrading for the sake of a camera
Install Gcam make it better or not?..
I have a video of Gcam on the V50
Very good,👍
Thanks
I have V40 and V60
All great phones
I also want a V50
It has the most comprehensive functions
But V50 is not listed in Taiwan
Please review camera LG G8x
I think the v40 did better than the v50 but overall the V60 did better in the dark without crushing shadows as much as the other 2. I also like the vibrancy of the day colours and colour science seems more stable. The v50 loses too much in the dark for the win IMO.
Appreciate sharing your thoughts on this, which I love hearing since we all have different perspectives on what we like to see.
Incredible the v40 iit's the more older and in some picture is better 🤪
V60 is better for zooming in daylight condition coz of the big sensor and megapixels. However it struggled to focus at times, so v50 is the most consistent camera phone
What about android 11 of lg v50
Don't think it will get it
@@GrantLikesTech but they promised 3 an it should get 12 too thats sad its not getting 11, might be good reason for their shutdown
Bro beats izzz sikk worD!!!
Even though the other phones are newer, after watching this video three times, I think the LGV40 has the best camera.
This video made me sad. I bought V60 last week and main reason is camera. I have v35 & v40 and now v60. In this video I liked the v40 pictures.
Help me decide should I return the v60. I have used the front camera and the dynamic range is very poor and also it crops a lot.
Please help me if I return this and get s20 fe.
Thanks for another video man.
Lol, V60 is still a great phone. Cameras are good and battery life is amazing. I'd stick with it unless you're really unhappy using it day to day.
