That was pretty difficult but seemed to work. Wouldn’t recommend unless you have a couple hours. FYI for my particular iPad the correct file was ota_iPad2,3.Ipsw. My iPad is iPad 2 wifi + cellular. Also there is problem with the routine around the 12 minute mark where you have to go download this file, the file that he has us download at the beginning is incorrect (you will see this as you go through). Overall I’m mad at Apple. I knew immediately when I downloaded iOS 7 that it had slowed my old iPad down so much it was almost unusable. I’m sure Apple did that on purpose so that everyone would be forced to buy a new machine, which I did. They tried to slow down their phones too but got caught. Overall this was good but I would rate it as difficult.
Same here. iOS 7 doesn’t support some older apps, but iOS 6 doesn’t support some newer apps. It’s dumb, but I like the older apps better than the newer.

For some of those who got stuck at Flash: The Phoenix app is a tethered jailbreak and thus needs re-jailbreak every time the system restarts (mine happened when I re-did DFU mode, maybe restarted the ipad instead by accident). Re-jailbreaking, Re-enable KDFUApp, and then Flashing worked for my case.
Did anyone get it??? I downloaded version 2.52 as suggested in the chat and gave an error in “Connecting with restore mode”. Using the current version is in an infinite loop loading the IBCE, any solution please ??

13 Mar 2022 Just a massive thank you. My old iPad 2 was completely non functional, and now runs like it did when it was new! Just a heads up that (for some reason) I had to get to the Jail Break using 2.58 then had to roll 3u back to 2.52 to run the reflash. Took about 10 attempts but running sweet now!
@@kolya18m the only thing I’d really like now is to put a decent ebook reader on it. Books was not included in native 6.1.3 and App Store doesn’t function any more. I’ve used 3U to jailbreak but can’t find an eBook reader in Cydia How are you getting apps on yours? 😊
@@kolya18m sadly I couldn’t find anything in Cydia either In the end I did manage a workaround. I put “Calibre” on my Mac and saved my books in there. Converted them to PDF and then use the “read in browser” function in Calibre to read them from the iPad in Safari 😊
I remember apple supported a lot more A5 devices for ota iOS 6. Now I believe they’re only supporting iPhone 4s and iPad 2. So the only way to get to iOS 6 on something like the iPad 4 is through coolbooter or nightshade possibly idk?

My iPad gets stuck on a black (but still on) screen, 3uTools stops doing stuff at "Sending iBEC componet" (its green) and I am kinda stuck. Found out the fix, after hours and hours of trying the same thing over and over, the trick is to simply use 3uTools V2.25 that instantly fixed my issue! (I was watching this and 1 hour in (I keep messing up) I noticed we have the same keyboard and same iPad lmao.) (Edit: formatted the text so the important bit is first.)
When I go to jailbreak it, it says "Due to driver compatibility issues, the classic device jailbreak tool only supports operations on Windows 7 and Windows XP!" I had to go to jailbreak through the tools tab because from the iDevice tab where you were, there was no "jailbreak now" option next to "no"

I did this and after I hit enter KDFU my ipad shut off completely. This might have been a mistake because my power button is not working for some reason. I unplugged the ipad from my computer on accident and now it wont detect the ipad when I plug it back in. so right now my ipad is completely black and non-functional and right now im ordering parts to replace the power button. if there is anything else I can do to fix it just let me know. I tried entering flash on 3utools and it didnt work because it needs to detect the ipad for it to work.

Ah, got it to work! - Two things - use 3uTools version 2.56. Also, when you download the ipsw file, go to the properties of it and tick the 'unprotect' check at the bottom.

It keeps saying “flash failed” I’ve tried on both an iPhone 4S and iPad 2. Used two different MacBook Pros both running windows 10 Bootcamp.
Works on 3U 2.38 vision, not with 2.58 vision

Let the battery die for a while, and then try charging it. I had the same problem and it worked.

You have to restore it, then jailbreak it. You cannot delete a jailbreak by hard resetting the device though settings.

Careful 3uTools is known to be pretty sketchy software, made in China rings some major alarm bells.

So if the iPad Is in recovery mode plug it into to iTunes and select update and restore

Try skipping the internet connection thing, this should work.
