The national instrument of Puerto Rico "El Cuatro" (a four-string instrument) was played at the beginning of the song, and throughout the song. The artists are both Puerto Rican. Luis Fonsi is a Latino POP singer, and Daddy Yankee is the undisputed king of Reggeaton (he is also a rapper, and does trap, and Pop). This is one of those songs that is good but was ruined by being OVERPLAYED!!!! Especially when the Justin Bieber version came out.
