New York created Hip Hop. LA took it in another direction and the South redefined Hip Hop more than once. Stop Snitching T shirts came after the Snowman Shirts .Jeezy& , Gucci Mane's beef is the turning point in Hip Hop where street cred and street morals became the most important topic. He's capping. There's no way he personally pressed up 500 thousand CD's at one small facility for streets is watching. 50-100K is more reasonable .
This nigga full of shit and tryna stay good with Jeezy
@@rotweilerscholar1181 Definitely not cap. If you can press up 100K, then you can press up 500K. I’ve seen it done before. You are just rewriting the CD’s using machines that had 5-10 drives each. He just said June had about 100 of the machines. That’s 5 hundred to a thousand copies in a matter of minutes. Taking the cd’s out and putting blanks in is the longest part in the process, but after doing it a dozen or so times, you would naturally be faster at doing it because of the repetition process of doing the exact same thing. I believe it because Slim Thug and Swisha House was doing the same thing, but they were selling them to the cd shops at wholesale prices and the shops would have 3 for 25 deals. It was a ton of money in that era of the mixtape hustle because hard copies were the standard and norm. Had to switch up for the digital age but that was for the better. It’s the reason why labels are pouring out way more money now than they ever had to artists. Saving all that money from not having to press up a million copies of a album or the shipping involved in getting them to the music stores all over the nation and worldwide.
@@cryile78222Slim Thug and da house wasn't pressing up no damn 500k of CD's at any point during the mixtape era in Texas... Yes they was big af out here but it was more like 100k to 250k when they was really pumping like that... Da only mf from that era doing 500k independent was SPM although that was an album... Boyz was definitely going platinum n gold in da streets tho...100k - 250k💪🏾🤘🏾💯
@@cryile78222 No way bruh. E40 went Ghetto Gold slinging 100K independently and he had fans in California , The Midwest and the South. There's no way They pressed up 500,000 units just to pass out locally in the ATL. Those are Cash Money type units and they had a distribution deal with Universal and fans in more Southern States than Jeezy when he first started. We aren't even talking about the height of Jeezy's career when he supposedly pressed up all of those units. That's physically impossible doing it in house. That would take months and he would have had carpatunnel from repetitive motion😁 As of 2020, There's only 247,000 Black people living in Atlanta and they all don't like rap. 500K is enough cd's to give everyone 2 copies.

So Icy was not cheesy and they did want that to make it the single. The label would have pushed that to even further heights if the machine was behind it
T.I. lost first deal and then got another one on the strength of his mixtapes so. He is slighting T.I. on that
He right about T.I. talking about trapping dimes and Jeezy talking units

Jeezy had da whole world wearing snowman shirts 🤣🤣🤣 n wanting to sell dope or hustle hard
@@khambrelmathis6101 that's a label thing. The song was hot and getting a lot of radio play organically. The label wanted to put the machine behind it and turbo charge it. It just would have been an easy radio single for them. I think things worked out for both parties tho
@@Taedat he did..... But he didn't leverage that. Most of them shirts were bootlegged. T.I. had much more charting success and still had a foothold in the streets. He knew how to play the game as well
@@TheRealBigManHarris I agree it was a hood and club hit and it got a lot of spins on the radio ( even here in South Florida) back then… but this is where the Labels only looked at the numbers and nothing else.
