The most underrated UA-cam channel ever!! The amount of Knowledge and understanding and the inspiration , that all the videos so far have given me for myself and for my future is beyond me. To whoever you are thank you. I will carry on chasing my passions and go as far as i can in Education.
A while back... I found this unusual youtube channel. Exam season was approaching. I had to make a new youtube account to give myself motivation/study content everyday. Then I got recommended a video titled, "Day in the life of a Harvard PhD student". Maybe because I had watched a bunch of college prep videos. I watched it, it was nice. It was his first video, very clear and as perfect as it could be for the first one. I could also feel myself taking in some of his personal information, he provided, like Boston and Dunkinn Donuts that became more relevant in his later uploads. The video ended in a very symbolic way. In the morning he started through the Charles Bridge to campus, (I would hear about his experiences, work, his relationship with the staff, professors, his fav food, places he hung out and more in later videos) then back to his place in the evening, by crossing the same bridge. The video ended. But it gave me a glimpse of what I could expect from his other videos, same time, same place, same cycle but different experiences. It made me feel relieved about life, wherever I was at, even when I'm stuck in a cycle or if one day at my lowest, life could still offer me experiences that could become one of the sweetest experiences in my life. I was thrilled to watch his other videos, I made some time to watch them daily. From what I saw he uploaded weekly. And to my delight they kept getting better. His edits were simple, but had just what was needed to be complete. His music tastes were reflected in his videos as well, very calming, classical. Very differnt from other fast paced edits of other people with a mix of rock, pop and modern music. I grew to love the vibe even more, as each video delivered that feeling consistently, even better than before. He shared his views, his goals, in a way to inspire or document his life perhaps. As proof that these emotions existed then, and he embraced them so they shaped the him today. In his first video and successive ones after that I could tell the gradual change in the tone of his voice in his videos. Maybe he purposely adopts it for the videos. It was different. To see someone change, without them telling me "I changed..." in the thumbnail or title. To just feel the change, instinctively, that's the kind of person I would like to be. Like him. I feel kinda special, to be here, and I hope in 10 years, I would see a large number of people here who came to see his early days and be as mesmerized as I am now. He occasionally tells stories, of his hometown, experiences, his motivation and such. All based on real events, it seems. He is like a storyteller, maybe that is one reason he started this channel. This video is one such story as well, about Mike Tyson, the golden boy. He seems to aspire to be the golden boy, some boy who struggles, works extremely hard, so he can reach his dream. The golden boy is talked about when the topic of dreams and goals arise. He is referred to as one who tried and proved it. I have heard about the golden boy myself at least a dozen of them. It is hard to not notice as an aspiring student in my country where education is a competition. The higher you rise, the more you realise how below you were, and the gap you still have to cover. You can't stop, or you're no longer in competition. Even in my school days, I had a classmate with the potential, he'll definitely make it, and be the boy who is most talked about in town. I am here, so are you, the odds were infinitely low, yet this is reality now. One day, I would be the golden boy, I will get there and tell them they can too. And... If they ask me about my journey... then I would certainly start with *_The Quantum Boy_** .*
