Nah that's the Illuminati's fault for rewinding time. Alexander himself is a pretty cool guy, only freezing time in bursts rather than rewinding like a cheating bastard.
As old as this fight is now still has one of the best OSTs especially the dam freaking time stop. First time I saw that mechanic and hearing the timestop segment I could not help but bop my head to the beat
Same here Rise itself is 10/10 and the time stop section just adds so much to it (the song and the fight). I loved being in the middle of an attack and the game just pausing your pose resulting in some funny looking poses
My favorite part is it seems to match the song 1:1 from when time gets paused, it's like they took out the key parts of the song and only left a small metronome that counts down before time stop ends.
A boss freezing time to get in free hits on you should feel like the most unfair and awful feeling in boss fights. But I always get hyped during the time stops. The way they do it is just so smart, I gotta respect the free hits.

Also can we just mention how the first thing we hear when we start Phase two. is "Sonic Boom." I have stared down many primals the size of skyscrapers, but this one one legit scared me.
Pretty sure Alexander is canonically the strongest thing in the game so far, including the WoL. But this final battle, where you try not to overpower the beast but to prove yourself worthy of inheriting the future from it, staring down this impossibly powerful Utopian Primal while it judges you worthy, it's so damn good. And that's to say nothing of how well the story as a whole ended.
There are many things stronger than the WoL. The elder primal Bahamut, I am talking about the big ass dragon not that thing called Bahamut "prime" which is technically his soul or something. The Warring Triad, when you face them it is stated either by them or the npcs around you that you must "strike them down now before they regain their full power" meaning you fight a watered down version of them. The extreme versions do not count because they are technically non-cannon. Alexander, the same example as Bahamut. There is no way in hell the WoL take down the Alexander you see outside Iddleshyre. You just can't. Any of the midgarsorm child. For instance, to battle Nidhogg you need the power of one of the great Wyrm's eyes to protect yourself, otherwise you are fucked. Cloud of Darkness. Even if you destroy her physical form she is inmortal so she can fuck you up anyways and the WoL had to run since there is no means to kill her.. As for the Allagans, the WoL could NOT take down Ultima Weapon by himself he had the need to have Hydaleyn herself helping him. I am pretty sure he won't be able to take down the Allagan super weapon, Omega. He'd probably face Omega's soul or some shit like they did with Alex and Bahamut. The WoL is really powerful right now but he has his limits, he is stronger than your regular primals which are gods nonetheless, stronger than a god-king Thordan but weaker than many others. Including Allagan creations.
This vid gives a good view of the DRK's LB3. I mean I knew the dark knight cuts open a fissure above the party, but I didn't know that darkness literally spills out like a liquid to bathe the party in protection. Best tank LB by far.
@Joker you shoot your shots into the air and make a giant shield. I'm sorry but nothing beats ripping the literal fabric of reality to let darkness onto the battle and use it to shield your entire party
this is my fav primal music to date. the time stop just sync up so well with the flow of the son and just adds so much to the fight. what is also cool, is they mixed ff11 alexander with ff9 alexander and added the time paradox theory story. I was extremely happy.
I also like that if your a dps you see a part of this fight that no one else experiences. It's not super important but the whole future look part always is like fuck yeah - we did it guys.

Yeah, it's pretty much impossible to know until the official lyrics are released. Getting flashbacks from when Metal was being transcribed and pretty much everyone got it wrong.
With this Primal it almost felt like that was super on-purpose; remember how Locus had that one line 'Delirium unsuspected'? I think Alexander's been deliberately screwing with us from the start. Like, some of the lyrics in Locus in particular sound deliberately obtuse, said in a way that you wouldn't think them to be what they are unless you read the actual lines.

Those countdowns to Teraflare/Divine Judgement are some of the coolest/most intimidating things I've experienced in gaming.
The cool thing about the timestops is that your buffs/debuffs and cooldown timers freeze as well.
Kinda wish that applied to cast bars as well...

God damn this is going to go down as my favorite primal fight ever. The design and lore was a+, Square gave Alex the love he deserved.
the whole alexander backstory and progression was well done. The conclusion we came to was also heartwarming and gave us a sense of achievement too.
