I’m pretty sure it’s mostly up to themselves, though I’m sure the older ones have to work harder to do it.
i think it would really depend on the situation. if it’s something they need to act quickly on, they don’t try to show it off. not in a hostile environment, they take their time (also that they can show off the cgi that still stands to this day)

These Transformations never fail to impress me, even if people didn’t like the movies like Age Of Extinction and The Last Knight you still have to give the Animators credit for how much work they took to create all of these I still love all these Transformations a lot

Fun fact is that this movie basically made the MCU possible. Marvel wanted to make an Ironman movie for awhile but they could never figure out how to get the armor to look real enough until this movie came out and then they hired a bunch of the artists who worked on this to work on the armor scenes for iron man

I think the most underrated transformation is easily Skids and Mudflap at 4:43. Mudflap (the back half) tries to mimic Sideways’ sick transformation jump and instigates it when Skids (the front) isn’t ready for it, sending them both into a wall. You can actually see Skids’ legs fall out of his half of the truck and trail behind him since they probably didn’t need to transform to make a complete truck. The crash bends the plastic ice cream sign on Mudflap and his transformation coincidentally flexes it back into place. My favorite detail of all is how their alternate mode is so decrepit that Skids has to move some of the parts *by hand* if he wants to finish transforming.
Those two were iconic.
It's been 15 years and I never realized that's what he was trying to do. Good eye!

They were nominated. They didn't win. The Golden Compass beat the first Transformers, and Hugo beat Dark of the Moon.

Jazz’s transformation back to car mode was so G1, I love the attention to detail.
Fun fact, apart from the opening scene in revenge of the fallen, we have never seen optimus transform into truck mode once in the bayverse

The first movie really should've won the oscar for best VFX.
Rise of The Beasts is a step on the right direction, it's just that a lot of you guys are lost in nostalgia of the old Bay films and by no means are they bad at all, it's just that the transformers lacked personality, especially the decepticons which they are viewed as just evil animals with an empty soul, and the movies were just made for everyone and barely for Transformers fans. Do we love each Bay film? I can proudly say yes in some ways, but when it boils down to a ton of placed Advertisements, Extremely Sexualized Women, and random Explosions going on, it turns into less of a Sci-fi/Fictional universe and more of a movie about mainly humanity and not much to do with Transformers. You guys can say anything negative about Steven Caple jr's movie but I will tell you one thing, the humans are more useful and fit the plot a lot better, even though they lack some charisma and chemistry like the Shia Labeouf and Megan Fox duo. Bay fans, be grateful and just move on. We're going all G1 purely this time around. And I say that having grew up on the Bay films as an introduction to transformers, that says a lot.
The sad truth is that we will never stand together as transformers fans💔
I just feel like the visual filmmaking of Bay is still leagues ahead. Everything feels SO real. They should go back to this, regardless of story/characters
I say combine them both… but my thing is this, ppl hate the cons for being “grey nothings” when like, the vehicles most of them turn into are like jets and stuff. Our real jets aren’t colorful 😂. Only thing I’ll say is that the new movies need interesting humans, OR don’t put them in. I do love that the Decepticons had personality in the bee movie. But the Terrocons really didn’t…except Scourge.
@@thepaladin4335 Like Shatter in the Bumblebee movie turns into a Harrier Jump Jet and Dropkick an AH-1 SuperCobra Attack Helicopter which are mostly drab greys and blacks but then the bright Paint of the ground vehicle modes they chose first, the Plymouth GTX and AMC Javelin are the ones that match their already bright color schemes in robot mode, triple changers are cool also Blitzwing at the start should have had a reason to turn into a Tank alongside the F-4 Phantom but been left as the main antagonist for later in the film imo
Say what you will about the Bayverse movies, that first transformation scene with the Autobots is iconic. Props to the CGI team for the effects, and to Steve Jablonsky for the soundtrack.

What I love is how Autobots have much slower, smoother transformations, whereas Decepticons are much sharper and more aggressive.
5:37 this transformation was always my favorite growing up. Even though it wasn’t an action sequence I just liked the music.

A lot of people complain that you can’t really see the transformation clearly but that’s kinda the point, your brain just fills in the blanks of the transformation, especially from far away or close up or different lighting. Michael Bay’s cinematography also helps the vfx artists hide the renders well in case of Mass shifting or to help keep the cgi budget down

You forgot arcee and wheeljack transforming when Prime said "i will end you scourge" and another one of arcee transforming after Prime and Primal said "maximals, autobots, rollout"
Man, the Reboot-verse really shows the decline in visual effects quality (though no fault goes to the VFX artists' themselves, you guys rock). Though that has more to do with the visual aspect of the films; love or hate him, Michael Bay has a distinct visual style that has become synonymous with Transformers in live-action, and the two Reboot movies lack that.
Plus, some of the Transformations are inferior to the original series'. Like, even in Prime's famous Arrival to Earth moment in ROTB, his arm doesn't even become the side of his cab, it just rest there and it's replaced by the quick transition.
Everything after 3 sucks. Especially bumblebee and rise

Personality of Optimus and Bee changed between BBM and ROTB. BBM Bee was a shy little boy and Optimus was like Bayverse Prime, a leader and willing to sacrifice. It all changed to being show off Bee and angry Optimus. Also Mirage is now the new Bee where he is the one with the human driver instead. but he ends up dying.
