People getting triggered in comments need to chill a bit. Like come on it's a "DISHONEST" review for a reason man 😭 the whole point is to roast & pass jokes even if you've liked the film. And she's not a hater, she herself roasted her fav film "Tamasha" once which she also admitted in that video. Even we have to agree that the films we love have their own flaws which we choose to ignore no matter what but the whole point of a film roast is that you have to criticize the film in a joking manner and if you can't handle that then simply choose not to watch such content 💁🏻 IT'S THAT EASY 🤷🏻

Honestly, The only thing that impressed me about Rockstar is A.R.rahman and Mohit Chauhan. I went to this movie only for Ranbir Kapoor. When movie was over i felt like having a bad hangover due to Bad liquor. That "Tute hue dil se hi sangeet nikalti hai" by Kumud Mishra's character was a big turn off.

Both are mahabakwas boring pretentious films. Most RK films are like these only. YJHD was fun and Barfi was brilliant lekin zyadatar films iski pakau hi Rahi hai. Haan I liked Jagga Jasoos too. Animal has made me start hating RK.

2 major things:
1. This is one of the two Ranbir Kapoor films with the deepest endings. Here, the moment Heer chooses to let go of the world and come close to Jordan is also the moment where her journey to be eternally separated from Jordan begins. (As in, that's the time she becomes pregnant.) And that separation is why Jordan sees Heer in the end and the lyrics - inspired by the legendary Rumi, no less - start saying "Kaga Ra Kaga Re Mori Itni Araj Tose..." The second, obviously, is Barfi, where the last scene - before the credits - shows elderly Jhilmil's bangled hand on an aged Barfi's lifeless body: The Shankha and Pola on her hand signify they got married and spent their life together, something Shruti yearned for - with great regret - after rejecting Barfi's love.
2. The songs' visualisations had some great use of bits and pieces of Jordan singing the same tune in different parts of his life, signifying that he indeed had the music in him all along, and that his relationship with the people around him opened only specific outlets. Maybe he would have turned out different had he not been exploited by the likes of Dhingra or wronged by members of his own family, like the tharki bhabhi.

What was the need to highlight the other character, ileana wala, to suffer from regret, etc. Seems narcissistic, tune hero ka kaata, ab bhugat type attitude. Let her be.

Omg my boyfriend and I watched this movie first time like 2 months ago. 30 min in we are like ok too unrealistic but ok. But after second half we went full bonkers like what are they actually trying to preach. I mean definitely how to not follow your passion. Now its just an insider joke between us. @@shrinidhijoshi595 the film is definitely not trying to preach about how to follow your passion nor is it an “inspirational movie”. It’s not necessarily a movie been created to uplift you or inspire you. Despite my personal problems with the film, the message i understand from the film is that money and fame won’t always lead to happiness. He has millions of fans but is still lonely inside. Everything he wanted from the beginning of the film from wanting a “broken heart” to “mera dil nahi tutna chahiye” at the end of the film is what I liked. If you ask me what I liked, I’ll say I liked the irony of the film. But otherwise even I had with problems with its execution, screenplay and nargis acting. Also yes it’s not a very realistic story, there is no scientific evidence that “toothe hue dil se sangeet nikal tha”. So it makes sense why you and your boyfriend found it senseless but all I liked in the movie was the irony of it

Bro me and my friends watched rockstar in kota during our aipmt(now neet) preparation days!The climax was the best part of the movie and music complemented it!I remember the sheer silence in the theatre when heer died and jahaan me jaha pe bhi started playing,all of us felt that loss!!
I still feel that void in my heart when heer and jordan werent together at last. Jordan wasn't happy even though he had all the fame, he always wanted but still he cant be Happy anymore.

One thing....I am a long time subscriber but a honest criticism from my side... Sometimes...If a character doesn't know what did he or she want or actually in the middle point don't understand the goals ...then it's actually a part of nuance that writers love to potray ..There is an external want and internal need which is the core of character writing.On the other hand you sometimes ridicule about this structures but this actually make a character interesting rather than just a card board type one dimensional character.
You realize the channel is based on jokes right? Hence dishonest. Please don't make the mistake of taking me seriously. Even I don't. Sometimes. 🤷♀️

There are only 2 reasons to ever watch Rockstar, 1. Ranbir Kapoor and 2. the songs.
It is a stupid story but it is excellent storytelling. And that's what good cinema should do. Very few Bollywood movies succeed in properly showing negative characters without glorifying them but Rockstar does this brilliantly. You empathize with the protagonist as much as you pity him.
I accept it has some glaring flaws, but It was the product of that time and I guess our generation kind of lived that character (Jordan) and that story.
Songs did the heavy lifting tbh wrna story kuch khas nhi thi, Ranbir was decent and the less said about Nargis the better.
actually if I look at the dishonest review, I do agree it seems a bit of romanticizing depression but but but but it will still be one of my favourite movies ! I think it was mostly because of Ranbir, songs & cinematography. Imtiaz has his way of making the movies look really beautiful

Nargis Fakhri is not a Native hindi speaker. As we can see her lines were all dubbed by someone else in Rockstar. She is actually good when she gets to act in English. She played a cameo in spy but there she didn't have any lines, she also did a film with Rajkumar Rao and I frankly think she was good in that.
The best illustration of how women will never understand men is this roast.The vibe of the film, which only Imtiaz Ali can produce, is the main USP of Rockstar.The plot of Rockstar revolves around a man who has always aspired to be famous. He will stop at nothing to gain popularity in music. Someone tells him that only a heartbroken person can create music and he is ready to have his heart broken. He eventually achieves his fame after lot of efforts and pain. However, he realises the value of true love in life when he achieves the pinnacles of fame. He is prepared to give up the most significant aspect of his life when he realises love, but it is already too late. What a lovely film.What a lovely reminder that nothing in life is so vital that you should devote all of your time and effort to it. Many men experience this. One excellent example is Virat Kohli, who has devoted his whole life to cricket and even played on the day of his father's passing. However, he recently stated that cricket is a part of his life and that his family is the most important thing in his life. Its the best example that nothing is more important than love. Returning to the story, the scene in which Ranbir Kapoor declines to kiss Aditi Rao Hydari demonstrates how devoted he is to "Heer" and how he no longer cares about any other girls, despite their beauty and attraction towards him, because he is in true love now. Rockstar is story of transformation of a man who pursues success but ultimately develops a yearning for love.
Rockstar's storyline reminds me of profoundly moving novels that shake one's heart and spirit. One similar example is Vikramaditya Motwane's 'Lootera'. Unfortunately, Imtiaz Ali is born in India, a nation that only produces cheesy films like "Tees Maar Khan." How much dumb entertainment nonsense do you want to see in movies? Is a Kapil Sharma Show not enough? One day, we will understand Imtiaz Ali's role in depicting men's emotional struggles in Indian cinema, be it 'Tamasha' or 'Rockstar'. One day, we'll realise what a movie magician Imtiaz Ali is and how much emotion he could bring to each of his film scenes.

And while some people do love the movie as it is, for various reasons, the social media generation makes movies like rockstar a thing purely because of nostalgia and aesthetics, no one can deny that. And that doesn't make it a bad movie either, but not everything is a cult classic (but the music definitely is) maybe you're butthurt cause yes, it's your favourite film or maybe because you feel seen & called out

A "careful what you wish for" story disguised as a "love story" . He wanted fame and recognition and was ok to deal with "anything" that would help him get that , not knowing what kind of carnage it would ultimately result in. It was ok up until the girl decided to cheat on her husband.

I've watched the full movie but never in one go, only in bits and pieces because it could never retain my attention for long. The songs were bangers, cinematography was epic, Ranbir's acting was very good, story was fine. But there's something about this movie that I just can't relate to (I've literally watched some of the most mindfucking dark movies in my life so it's not about the psychological aspect). There's something about people who create their own demons then expect others, who are dealing with shit they never asked for, to sympathize with them that just turns me off. I sympathized more with Heer than Jordan, and not because she was dying. Se was dealing with things that were out of her control, having to hide her free nature because of societal norms, falling for a man who used her for a personal project, struggling with a terminal disease, being confronted by an ex again after she'd learned to settle in her new life. But the audience glorifies his pain more, pretending like her struggle was limited to just her disease. It annoys me to no end.
PS: I actually loved that "eco-friendly nature ke rakshak" line the first time. As a person belonging to a minority community that gets demonized and killed without repercussions on almost a daily basis while the so-called elites of society stay quiet, it resonated with me then, as it does now.

When it came out initially, i was obsessed with only the music. But the film took it's hold on me 2 years back ✌️ I would put Nargis's acting as the only take away, but whoever dubbed her made her tolerable ✨

My close friend who plays the guitar once told me that he hates this movie coz Ranbir is not even holding the guitar properly nor playing any of the chords properly even though he’s an ace musician in this movie. Ever since then I can’t unsee how average his acting is in this movie. The visuals and music really elevated this other wise average movie
