Always thought it was interesting that Breen decided to give the Overwatch soldiers a dressing-down, and we hear the Overwatch Voice repeatedly tell soldiers that mission failure will result in things like "recall & recycle" and "permanent offworld assignment." Consequences for failure would be wasted on braindead drones who know nothing but their programming. It means Overwatch soldiers retain just enough humanity to be motivated (or intimidated) into performing their duties. I wonder if other cyborganic units, like Striders and Gunships, also have a voice they can understand piped into their heads telling them what will happen if they fail. Or maybe they did fail their previous mission, and now they're serving on a permanent offworld assignment as punishment.
The fact that you can hold a shot for this long and it’s still captivating is awesome. No need for flashy battles or complex animations. Just some guys walking/jogging across the screen and some turret action paired with a good soundscape.
Although it’s *technically* not cannon. The fact that you depict Combine soldiers as leagues above rebels, turns Gordon into something truly awe inspiring. To see the fear and despair of the regular citizens trying to stop a few combine, really makes Freeman seem like an unstoppable force, like the one Freeman.
Beautiful, this could easily be an in-game scene. Also love how you always kept something going on in the background, the Overwatch entering through the gate, the antlions being killed, the walls moving, there was always something minor going on that kept your attention.
OMG. I DIDNT EVEN REALISE GMAN STANDING AND SEEING HIM THROUGH THE WINDOW ON THE TOP LEFT WTF. I'll admit ive watched this too many times because of just how God damn beautiful this is but holy shit
I really love how eerie and dark it feels in HL universe that shit is messed up and you don't want to be the last one to leave with your life. I felt the same in Op4 how Adrian missed his last flight ticket and he went deeper into hell and these Combine soldiers here are carving their way from Exogen breach to get to Freeman, the Combine Walls are desperately trying to block the Antlions and I wonder what would have happened to Nova Prospect if it hadn't been completely destroyed by a portal storm following Gordon and Alyx' teleportation. I think it would turn into a huge Quarantine Zone with goey Xen investation.
The combine walls moving is always so terrifying to me. Its something that should be solid and concrete and suddenly it could move and destroy the building your in, so menacing.

Another great one! I love these scenes you're recreating :DD
Another amaizing piece of work, done right and with passion, keep it up, I'll be waiting impatiently for the next one!
Even tho this is just a speech in-game, you made it so much better with background and the details like breens speech sounding more buzzy and static when the grenade explodes and then it turns normal!
These animations and details are god-like! keep it up :D
I adore this. Probably one of my favourite videos ive ever seen for Half Life, my favourite franchise! Please keep making these!
Dr Breen's VA did stellar work portraying his character, sadly he passed sometime in 2012 but it would have been great to see a cameo in Alyx
Theres is the "Right man in the Right Place can save us all" and "Congratulations, this city has been selected"
Cameos
Amazing, i always loved the atmosphere of locations in hl2.
This is so amazing! Even without moving the camera you get a strong, compelling story and environmental detailing on a whole other level. Seriously great stuff!
How are these so good!? Looks so natural and does justice to the game's story and feel. AMAZING!
Damn it, youtube has failed to notify me.
Either way, the atmosphere, the Combine Wall, and the injured (I assume) Nova Prospekt guard limping onto the safety and his "buddy" guarding before rushing in as well, really adds up to the whole doom-ish mood of the current situation, along with Breen scolding the Combine forces.
Honey, TheParryGod uploaded again! Once again, great stuff. I'm addicted to your animations.
I absolutely love these. Could watch a full length film made with still shots like that, the sound really carries the atmosphere forward. Great job like always!
Hey Parry, great stuff as always. Keep up the good work.
Those moving walls are such a cool idea, it auto-expands crushing anything in its way.
I LOVE the HL2 Combine models with the HLA touch-up. It really brings the mood Half Life 2 made right to the present, such a fucking awesome feeling seeing the Elites too, great job man!
a simple yet stunning scene, great work
Another amazing peace of work! Each one of these is better than the last!
Outstanding job, pal! Love your animations soo much!
There's so much in that speech that here are probably videos dedicated to analysing it alone.
Thanks for the S2FM. Wonderfull as always. I loved these antlions apperenig every few seconds.
I love your attention to lore and detail of Half Life series, one if not the best cinematics I've seen.
I just really really love these videos!!! The atmosphere is so calming yet unnerving. Please keep making them!
As much as I love your longer videos scenarized video, i love your scenes like this almost just as much. You can feel the mood
I've been watching plenty of your half life animations, and all I just wanna say is you are doing a very great job and I love your work. You are filling up my childhood needs when I used to play half life ALOT. Every time I see you upload new half-life animations I always get excited and hyped.
Dude your stuff is flipping nuts dude, please dont stop, or stop to make a movie or something, I cant stop getting over your work, it's amazing
After an hard day, I open up youtube and found a new video from you. Man, you cheered up my day! I truly love your series of the Half Life and episodic ambience videos, simply gorgeous. From one of your subscribers on buymeacoffee, thank you, thank you a lot. :)
i love videos that explore and expand the lore of how the combine operate and well the soldiers look badass as well of course
Great work! Love your videos. Looking forward to see big project.
I believe addiction to your content would be an understatement.
Great work, as always. Keep it up.
Fantastic work as always! Thank you for putting these out :)
COMMUNIST. DETECTED.
The atmosphere in this is incredible! And the model animation is just phenomenal. Such a great video!!
Man, you put this out fast! And it’s so good! Can’t wait to see more.
Love the details, like the soldier with the impaled leg, limping while the Antlion's leg is still stuck in him. Awesome, like always!
Not sure what the grenade was for. Gave me the vibe of "I'm at max grenades, and I know I will be able to pick up a fresh one in the next area, so might as well use one now".
Probably for blasting/closing the Antlion breach in the floor.
he threw it in the antlion hole
@@thebluesavior ☝
Like in the game, block the hole the antlions use to travel to the surface, combine soldiers use nades, you the player use abandoned cars in ep1 to cover the holes
I love how these animations just fit right in with the canonical events of the game. For example, the Combine elites moving into the forcefield near the end lines up perfectly with when Gordon and Alyx are departing from Nova Prospekt through the Combine teleporter in the depot as it is exploding
This series is filling a void I haven’t been able to even remotely attempt to fill since 2005.
I humbly thank you.
dude, you nailed the nova Prospekt vibe awesome the environment the sound affects the realism the soldiers the speech it's outstanding
Another mastpiece as always.
absolutely beautiful. you encapsulate the atmosphere of the half life universe flawlessly. (please make a 7 hour war video)
Google translate might be failing me here but if I understand correctly, you're referring to the Combine soldier model I showcased in the latest community post? Then no, the model used in this video (for the regular NP guards) is found in HL:A's game files and were to be used for the retail game early in development. My custom models will be part of a huge project that is still very much in its infancy.

You tube )))
@@ПуПс-с3й8д я тоже в восторге от его видосов
This is insane! I'd love to see Breen's "Welcome to City 17" speech from the very beginning of the game in this format!
Всегда приятно заценить очередной шедевр по HL2!
Astounding work, I cannot understand how you make these so damn good, one after another!
This is just perfect as always!
I'll just leave it at that.
Beautiful, this could easily be an in-game scene.
Also love how you always kept something going on in the background, the Overwatch entering through the gate, the antlions being killed, the walls moving, there was always something minor going on that kept your attention.
0:24 Reverberation of the explosion completely drowns out the broadcast, LOVE IT
OMG. I DIDNT EVEN REALISE GMAN STANDING AND SEEING HIM THROUGH THE WINDOW ON THE TOP LEFT WTF. I'll admit ive watched this too many times because of just how God damn beautiful this is but holy shit
I still think it's hilarious that Breen roasts Freeman about his PhD to the Overwatch soldiers
I love these! I love how the Combine center at Nova Prospeckt was actively expanding. Literally slowly destroying everything in its path and claiming it
It's amazing how much hype you can generate for such an old game. Astounding work.
Your cinematography really highlights the world and the deep mood of these games. I just watched a whole main menu sequence because I was so enthralled by it.
Breen dances his performative steps as soldiers press on, half knowing how their death prolongs human life.
I was trying to write a comment like this but couldn't put it into words, thank you.
I felt like this video highlights how out of touch Dr. Breen seems with his own soldiers.
Always good to watch of your work mate! excellent video as always
Your work is unbelievable marvellous and breathtaking. So is your advancement that you made I don´t even have words for that...
God your stuff is always so cool, you do a great job with atmosphere
It's like you are a program designed specificially to create works of flawless art. Well almost. The only flaw I or anyone could find in these pieces is that they end. You're incredible and if I were wearing a hat I'd tip it.
Outstanding as always. Thank you for all your hard work.
Dude I REALLY love your half life films - I come back to re-watch them every so often still. Would love to see more!!! Regardless I hope you are doing well in life my friend @TheParryGod !!!
I love your work so much man this is amazing
This an absolute fucking masterpiece, Keep up the good work
These are absolutely stunning, great work!
Thank you for making these videos, they are the best of the best.
Overwatch Elites at the end. Great video.
