I'd forgotten about this song until I was reading Psalm 57, and it came back to me. My mum listened to Maranatha a lot when she first became a Christian in the early 80s.
Also Psalms 108 verse 5, provides a perfect wording for the above song. It says, " Be exalted O God, above the heavens. Let your Glory be over all the earth". Psalms 57 verse 11 same Word. The Word of God is anointed.
Maranatha music was very popular back then and many still use the music. I have one of the songbooks as well. Lots of the psalms are put to music. Brian Doerksen used the psalms as well a few years ago
Yes, me too. I have forgotten this beautiful song. Now all the new worship songs, not one ring in my head at all. It is all these older songs that helps me a lot in my focus on the Lord, when i had so much stress in life.
I’m only 28 but I’m so grateful for older hymns like this! It’s just something especially different with these hymns versus the newer contemporary Christian music. I prefer these 💕 I feel like these are more focused on Christ’s Word and glory versus our feelings.
The songs sung today do not minister because they are focused on man. Songs like this are the word of God and focus on Him. His words are spirit and life-the only words that will meets our needs! This one is Ps 57:9-11.
The hymns of the past had a beautiful annointing on them because they were taken from scripture they stay in you memory they are an aid a comfort in time of need a recognition of who our saviour is and what he means to us
Glory to Christ Jesus, thank you “Lord Jesus “ for 2023 even good or bad awl’s on my side you protect and guide me those trials bring! Now new year and welcome 2024 “Lord Jesus “ Just be with me always and I pray my Family to be in ‘One In Christ “ And believes to have Faith and Hope In “Christ Jesus” .Trust God’s All The Time 🙏🌹♥️❤️💜🇵🇭🌹🙏
Wonderful beautiful Saviour. I bow down & worship You dearest Lord. Thank you my precious brothers & sisters for this truly heart touching song. It is so beautiful. Your singing has blessed my spirit. May the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob & Moses blessings fall upon you as sweet dew! Shalom ❤
Our Lord put part of this song into my heart this morning after I woke up from my sleep. I used to sing this song when I was a new Christian many years ago. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father God who knows my past, present and future and my life is secure in His mighty hands. 🙏👍❤
Just read “Be exhalted oh God above the heavens” In ps 107:5 and knew it was a song…. Thank you Lord that utube only needs a phrase to connect us to praise of you😂❤🎉
My two favorite Scriptue In Song songs are "Father Make Us One" and "The Servant Song". I just really like Maranathas "The Battle Belongs To The Lord ".
I will give thanks to Thee, O Lord, among the peoples. I will sing praises to Thee among the nations. For Thy stead-fast love is great, Is great to the heavens; And Thy faithfulness, Thy faithfulness to the clouds. Be ex-alt-ed, O God, above the heavens; Let Thy glory be over all the earth. Be ex-alt-ed, O God, above the heavens; Let Thy glory be over all the earth. (Repeat once more.)
Psalms 108 verse 5. " Be exalted O God, above the heavens. Let your Glory be over all the earth." Also Psalms 57 verse 11. The Word of the LORD is beautiful and powerful.
Yes, Lord God, You always deserve the praises of all the people. You are worthy of all our praises, adoration, and thanksgiving. Hallelujah to the King of kings and Lord of lords.
I got up with this beautiful song this morning 🌄 19 5/20. Oh my Lord l exalt your Name above all names. Let your Glory fill my heart ❤ Forever Amen 🙏🏾 💖
Also check out Psalms 108 verse 5 and Psalms 57 verse 11. The beautiful repetition of truth in the Word. I guess to stress the point. Like in Isaiah and Revelations we read that the heavenly beings and angels cry Holy,Holy,Holy is the Lord. Day and night.
Try the youtube " Maranatha music 70's and 80's . They are there. Also Scripture in Song have their songs up on the UA-cam. Born in the revival these songs I believe are blessed. They are special, I think.
I was looking for the version I know from many moons ago, but this looks like a copy of the other one I just watched. there are deviations that sound better in the version I knew. Maybe we weren't singing the original as it was written. If I had time I'd give you the version I knew; personally I think it sounded much better This has the ending I knew ua-cam.com/video/PKuiVodIXf0/v-deo.html

That's why it's important to read the word.

Beautiful song. I was saved a long with many many others at the tail end of the Jesus Revolution in 1978. We sang this song often in church.
My good friend Brent Chambers hit a home run with this song from Psalm 57:9-11. It's still top on my list after all these years!

I miss songs like this. These modern "worship" songs from the popular churches which will remain nameless are nothing compared to songs like this.
Very true
Very nice songs and remember to have faith in God and trust in him endlessly

So prophetic of David, a Hebrew, because of Jesus, singing among the gentiles - role on that day when Father God is worshipped by all the earth.
