They’re great little vans! Just be mindful of the injector issues they commonly have though. I think they’re most common in the 1.6 engines, but I’ve had so many friends with huge garage bills 😭
I've got a great little basic MK4 which I use for work and I'm thinking about going from mobile to unit based and if I do this is the plan for the caddy, I think this sort of thing is so cool and I'd love to have one! Me and my partner love a weekend away so this would be absolutely ideal for a night or 2 👌👌
I absolutely loved it! (I’ve upgraded to a much bigger van now) but me and my partner would do lots of weekends away and I never felt like it was lacking anything
From the inside of the back doors to the back of the seats it's about 170 cm if I measure where the bed is, about 40 cm from the floor. I'm 6′6″ (198 cm) and I have a short wheel base Caddy that is set up similarly to the one in the video. However, I have a 30 cm hinged extension to the bed that I fold forward when the seats are moved and tilted as far forward as they can go. Works great and it only takes a minute or so. I'll be happy to answer if you have more questions!
Hello, I've only just come across and subscribed to your channel. I'm interested in a small van conversion, possibly caddy. Following your previous comments on caddy difficulties, what made you go for another caddy? ☀️
I just loved the size and shape and how it drove. I was tossing up slightly with a Citroen Berlingo (more for your money when it comes to age and miles) but then when this yellow beauty came up, I knew I had to have her. There is a “VW Caddy Campers” group on Facebook and a “small vehicle campers” group which might give you some more to go on. The injectors are the biggest concern with a caddy and parts in general seem to be that little bit more expensive. A lot of people are buying the badge and the image when they buy any VW
You just need a lift on the lockdown and your free to go. I'm in the process of campering my Astra Combo... Do you not want a vent in the roof?? One thing I can't think to be without!
SO ready for lockdown to end! An air vent isn’t something I’ve felt I desperately wanted in this van. I do actually have some Heko wind deflectors which I didn’t show. They do let some air in and I’ve seen some really clever back door latches that allow the doors to lock with an inch or two gap for air flow, so that might be worth looking into too
@@vanvistas I got the impression it might have been to do with the low budgeting style you adopted to fitting out ya camper 😁. I'm not sure how I'm going to vent mine but 12v mini assisted, plus a seperate port hole; or maybe spend £200 on an all in one. I'll create a vid while I'm doing with the GoPro and upload it later. Good work 😉
@@terencebarnett9891 Well, that too 😝 but I also only have standard van insurance on the Caddy, so wary of making irreversible modifications that might void insurance. I’m currently doing out a bigger van in proper tiny home style though and I’ve just fitted a Fiamma turbo roof vent with a fan and it’s brilliant! Less than £100 for the vent and the fan together from JustKampers
@@vanvistas thanks for the advice. I'll be using mine to commute to Germany and back so prepared to pay out a little. I'll check the vent out that you suggested. Thanks again 😁
just converting one myself, fitted seat Ibiza front seats from a 3 door, they move forward easily to allow people to get in the back, ideal for the caddy to give you more space in the back for a longer bed, and easy access to the space behind the seats/under the floor.
i lol'd at that giant waterbottle!
I love your cute, nervous laugh. You are doing great girl. And thanks for the idea of how to add a leg to my fold down table.
I will hopefully get a Fiat Doblo as a Micro Camper next week and this video has so much great inspiration, thank you!
Literally just about to try and convert a VW Caddy and your videos have been so helpful! Subscribed and looking forward to your adventures!
That’s so great to hear!! Good luck with your conversation, you’ll be away in no time! No feeling like it 😊
Love this! Currently looking at purchasing a caddy myself. :)

Thanks for the hot water bottle tip Catherine, I've just ordered one
They’re the best! So snuggly and keep your whole body warm
:O that rear right door insert cupboard is genius! Iv never seen that before, might do it to my caddy
Definitely one of my favourite features!
Very good work! 👍🏻👏🏻

Cool intro
Would love to know the internal length as I’m 6ft 5 and wondered if I’d fit

Very nice. I like the giant hot water bottle. How much water does it take. I might get one.
Thank you 😊 I think it takes 2 litres! But I only ever fill it about three quarters full. It stays warm all night and is sooo snug!
Thanks. Just been on ebay, deffo getting one.
@@afordbabblecampervan7555 It’s been my saviour for winter van camping 🔥 It does take two kettles if you want it full though
sehr gut
great video subbed
