Another classic British march. THE KING'S Guard taken from a studio recording from the Beat Retreat CDs that use to be done by Droit Music every year. This version plays the first part of the march over again which is rare to hear but is perhaps how it was intended to be played. J. H. Keith, the composer was in the Band of the Scots Guards many years ago and was inspired by the fact that the Scots Guards provided the last guard for Queen Victoria and the first for King Edward VII. It won first prize in a march composition in 1904 and gained a handsome sum of 10 Pounds for the composer.
One of the finest marches to be played by the Guards Division Massed Bands. Superb

GREAT March.....I loved playing this every time. It has everything you could need from a March....Love it!!!! :)
And today it was the first and only song play at the Changing of the Guard for King Charles.
Great March....What more could you want from a March?
Lovely!
One of the 1st marches I played when I joined the BW in 1972.
To be honest, the parts around 2:00 sound like a typical German march. Dunno man-
