Great point about overdrive/distortion. I think this is especially important with single coils that can get blown out/cracked sounding and obviously have sometimes unwanted feedback. It has taken me many years to realize this, and your videos have helped me focus my playing a bit more! Thanks again
One very important thing too is to play barrechords and not powerchords with just two or three fingers. Minor Threat, Black Flag and Ramones all did it, its a huge difference 😊
Great insights as usual here! It's not even just for punk but all heavy distorted guitars really that you wanna make sure your use of gain isn't smoothing your sound too much. Tons of gain can be good for some types of lead work but for chords and rhythm playing that are distorted, as you imply, one needs to be carefull not to make a mess of things so learning where exactly that point is that your distortion becomes too unfocused and begins losing the ability to still have good definition and staying below that is key.
Great stuff, thanks. I've realised I often fall into the trap of over distorting the guitar - I need to remember "less is more"!

secret? ....dont ever practice your intrument, there ya go....punk. if you want to be a musician, practice
Simple, just play and "sing" out of tune and swear a lot
At first I was like a les Paul and a fender ,real punks don't have that kind of money. This guy is the shit. That was good
