In the Lesson, I do explain the Chords and the Fingerstyle/ Fingerpicking patterns for the right hand, and a small shortcut for
"Lazy Players" : An Easy way of playing the song. I also give the Chord Diagrams. I am teaching it in the original fingering that Dominic Miller uses.
Shape of My Heart is a song by English musician Sting from his album Ten Summoner's Tales, released in 1993. The song was co-written by guitarist Dominic Miller. Sting explained that through "Shape of My Heart", he wanted to tell the story of a "card player, a gambler who gambles not to win but to try to figure out something; to figure out some kind of mystical logic in luck, or chance; some kind of scientific, almost religious law." The song was used for the end credits of the film Léon with Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.

Best guitar teacher ever!!!!!!! The way you play this sounds like music you might hear in a peaceful Spanish village or something. If I could play this properly (still learning slowly) I'd entertain people by the pool in a hotel or something :)

@@damiendecoune9131 Cordoba and Yamaha have great parlor nylon string guitars...There are other made by Spanish luthiers ( Ramirez, Fernandez ) but in USA, Cordoba and Yamaha are easy to find...

I'm revisiting this song after years of not playing it and it's partially coming back to me. I love the lesson, you're an awesome teacher!
I noticed that somewhere along the lines I picked up using an harmonic on the 7th fret of the 4th string during the D6. Seems to be the same note, and for me that reach was easier than that nasty D6 shape. May be worth a shot for anyone struggling with that specific shape.
Anyone know if Dominic used that harmonic anywhere along the way while performing this song?
Hello! Yes, you can do that...Dominic plays this song in a parlor guitar, so the stretches are not that painful... Cheers!

Just a question of Practice...take in account that Dominic is a superb player sand on top of that he sometimes plays this on a parlor, much shorter scale...

steel strings can be (sometimes) more tense, thus more hard, to play on
Ya know, I actually find them easier! Way lighter tension and the wider spacing makes it easier for me to change chords cleanly! I’m a noob tho.

Damn I wish I could play again.
Broke my index finger (fret hand) just before Christmas. Callus is falling from my fingers right now. haha.
Only able to play slide, and let me tell you, it's fckn boring after 3 weeks.
(Not really, only hard to do) lol.
But as soon as I'm able to play again (hopefully very soon) I'll try to learn this beatyful song.
