I haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh for like 10+ years and with master duel i finally got back to it. I watched your Sky Striker Vid and it really helped me get back to learning. Im also looking forward to learning dragonmaids thanks for the vids keep it up man.

But a rough explanation on the thing with dragonmaids is nowadays there is always activity on the other side of the board during your turn, negate with sheou to swap to house before the battle phase. Houses second effect is along the lines of when another face-up Dragon monster you control returns to hand destroy one monster, combine that with tidying and downtime and i can destroy monsters or return them to hand (although i mostly save that for extra deck stuff) and screw with your backrow and thats not considering the non dragonmaid cards in the deck, although its mostly shit like ash, orge or maxx
You're tone and knowledge about the game and cards carry over so well and I really love the facts that you didn't give us a precise deck list but gave us insight on how the decks works allowing us to decide how we would build the deck.
Funny enough, a lot of the cards that normally aren’t that good in Dragonmaids ended up being pretty stellar additions in the N/R rarity event- due to the much slower pace of it where removal is at a slightly tighter premium, Laundry repeatedly dumping a ton of stuff in the GY for Welcome and Downtime to keep recycling stuff made them pretty hardy, and any dragons you popped would be back next turn to swing over your 3k atk beatsticks with the tiny buff from Welcome. It’s part of why I’d love for these event formats to stick around as for-fun options- they let different decks get a day in the spotlight.
Apparently laundry was a particularly popular pairing with eldlich in Japan (I don't really see the combo very often tho), you should see how much artwork there's with laundry and the golden lord as her master.

I have been so lost in what was happening in Duel Masters. I haven't played Yu-Gi-Oh! since Battle City was airing on the anime and me and my friends thought Dark Magician actually sucked. I'm still struggling to understand all the Xyz, Link, and Pendulum stuff happening. It's hard not to just give up when your opponent just floods your screen with Link animations. I picked up the 'Maids with the structure deck. This video helped a lot with really understanding what the game is like these days. Thank you!
Coming from a current dark magician player, that has been playing it since I got back in in 2012, dark magicians are okay. They don't suck but they're not great unless you open with a cracked hand, and get to go first. If I play enough duels, I can get in a diamond teir but a lot of things have to go right.

Hell yeah! Thanks for your kind words. Phantazmay is more or less a brick in this meta so while I have considered it, I don't think it's very good to have right now.
A niche trick DMaid has is that House fulfills the high level dragon requirement for Sheou. Combined with Changeover's GY effect, this means you can fuse House, use Changeover's GY effect, then fuse House into Sheou and revive House during either Standby Phase with Sheou's effect, with Chamber on either Battle Phase, or with Hospitality or REDMD during your turn. Situational, but it has its uses. Paleozoic Dinomischus is a decent budget removal card for DMaid, giving you a non-bounce removal that also gets around destruction protection, and is EXTREMELY useful in the Eldlich matchup as it lets you banish Golden Boi or one of his many floodgates, including Imperial Order. The discard also lets you set up plays with Tidying or Nurse.
@@insane3216 Yeah, just as randomperson said. Pro tip, if it's properly fusion summoned you can get it back even with Chamber Dragonmaid's battle phase effect since she summons any level 7 up.

Personally, I added Noctovision Dragon and Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay. What do you think about those cards? Just a preference to run more hand traps for you? I think the other hand traps are better. Phantazmay is a good tech card but not for this meta I think. I usually don't like topdecking Noctovision so I opted not to play it.
In my dragonmaid (i'm plat3 atm, so still long way to go to reach the top :P) i really like cross sheep for some special summons from grave, but i'll for sure want fo try the dragon ravine strat you pointed out
Putting aside everything else, this guide taught me 2 new general things about yugioh: bouncing or destroying continuous spell or trap cards and field spells negate their effect in a chain, and trap cards can activate their effects in the graveyard at quick spell speed. Thanks for the lesson!

Honestly I am new to this game and i dont know alot about yu-gi-oh and decided to get dragonmaid deck because they look cute, but i didn't understand their mechanics so thank you for making this video
I wanna make a dragonmaid deck but the end boards seems so weak with mostly 2 disruptions only. My opponents in diamond are so good they can even break my board of VFD + 3 negates + droplet protection and they can still play through it 😱. I can't see dragonmaid being successful in diamond unless I see a deck that can make 6+ disruptions.
The game just went to 💩 (at least on Master Duel). The higher up in rank u climb, the more omni-negates players use and set up on their board. The TCG is MUCH better (ESPECIALLY with the ban list). Only downsides to TCG of course is finding ppl to play with (unless u go to ur local areas or have friends that play) and spending a LOT more money on cards and travel (if ur area is fairly far).

Awesome video you made, dragonmaids was the first deck I've built when I first started playing master duel. So far it's my favorite deck to play and recently I've reached platinum one with my own dragonmaids deck. Even though the built I use is different.

Since I don't like running Prosperity in this, I run the Tempest package instead, which means running 1 copy of each Tempest and Gold Sarcophagus. Tempest by itself can be used as material for the Dragonmaid fusions, you can summon in if you're in a pinch, or if you need to. Banishing it with Gold Sarc also allows you to add a copy of Parlor from the deck to your hand. And considering how important she is, that makes it worth running imo.

This deck helped me a lot while learning how to play yugioh, yeah sure at first I was coming back to this video to remember how to normally pilot the deck but after hours of playing with it I managed to get the hang of it, I even played a variation of this deck in the fusion event and it did pretty well. (Without dpe and added Laundry for fun), now the maids are legit one of my fav archtypes. Once I get back (since I sadly lost my account) I'll try this deck out again, but I'll change/add some cards to check the meta (example dimensional barrier/solemn/evenly and set up turn 3 disrupts with sheou + seal)

After using a Deck Made up with Just the Dragonmaids having 3 of each cards and with their respected Spells/Traps Cards including the Cards "Laundry Trap" and "Sweet Roommaid" just to see how it works and how it can hold up in a match.. well they kinda seems like a pretty okay group of Cards but it still needs in my opinion aleast 3 new Dragonmaid cards to be complete which to me would be... 1# A Dragon Form Dark type Card of the Chamber Dragonmaid Card with the Card Effects of the following 8 or 9 star - 2800 ATK and 1800 DEF (Because the Maids ATK and DEF are based off of their Human Forms DEF) Cannot be destoryed by card effects while you control a Fusion Monster you can only use each of the following effects of "Dragonmaid" (Whatever the name) once per turn Effect 1 : you can Discard this card to the GY (aka Graveyard) and can Bring back 1 Banished or Graveyard Dragon Type Monster or 1 Banished or Graveyard Spell/Trap Card back into your Hand, Deck or Field. (Basically its a Dragoncarnation Normal Trap Card) Effect 2 : At the end of the Battle Phase: You can return this card to the hand and if you do Special Summon 1 level 4 "Dragonmaid" Monster from your hand. 2# A New Field Spell Card for the Dragonmaids/Dragon Type monsters (Which does) All Effect Dragon Types you Control Gain 500 Def Once Per Turn at the Start of the Players Main Phase you can Discard a Level 7 or 8 "Dragonmaid" from your Hand or Deck and Special Summon a Level 2 to 3 "Dragonmaid" Monster from your Deck to the Field if you Control no Monsters on the Field. I always try to keep my decks as pure as possible, so the thought of adding cards like Apollousa or Accesscode Talker kind of annoys me tbh. But considering decks like Drytron and the endless negates they can set up, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet. Great video btw, really helped me figure out how to play maids

It's always a pain when I wanna play a specific archetype deck but the people recommend me decks that just end using or relying too much on random or the same universal extra deck monsters you see on every deck instead of as pure as possible which I know is a necessary evil but still. Especially since I only play decks I like
Unfortunately, since Pot of Generosity is limited to 1, I had to replace it with a Monster Reborn. Still a very fun deck to use! Anytime I start to get a combo going, the opponent almost always surrenders. Dragonmaid Sheou is such a lifesaver XD
This is a majorly helpful video. I haven't played since 2005. This game is vastly different. Got back into it, due to the free to play aspect, and dragonmaid just vibed with me. I love the detail in teaching how this works. So many new mechanics.
I hope you take this as constructive criticism: have you considered analyzing deck archetypes more fully rather than in a focused manner specific to your decklist? For example, although you don't play Dragonmaid Downtime for a very good reason, some people play it because aside from the card advantage it can slowly generate, it can help dodge effects and synergizes with House Dragonmaid. A better example would probably be Noctovision Dragon, which some people use as a Link play extender (and the card draw doesn't hurt either). TLDR: I think it would be nice if you explained card choices in a manner that is like "I don't play it for reason X, but maybe you might play it for reason Y, and something that is not the greatest choice but is a consideration is card Z".
Yes, this is very fair. The reason why I don't include every supporting card is because the video is already so long. I did have a section on Noctovision but I scrapped it because I did not play it. If I included every supporting card or possibility of different archetype combinations, it would be a very very long video and require way more production time in research and playtesting since I have to learn and understand them myself to explain it correctly. The goal with these videos is simply to showcase a deck using the archetype that can reach Platinum or in my other videos Plat 1, and to give my understanding of it that I use to reach these ranks. I agree Noctovision is pretty popular, and I think I can try to include things that are as popular as it to a deck next time.

I’m surprised that dragonmaid welcome is not considered to be all that useful. It has saved me a couple of times with the all monsters you control gain 100 atk/def for every dragonmaid monster you control part. It helped me get the power boost I needed to get my opponents strong monsters out of the way.
In worst cases the archetype of the "Dragonmaids" suck more than ass cuz the effects of the "Level 7 Monster" should've been just like the effects of the "Level 8 Monsters" that can be activated during either player's turn. And the effect of either "Dragonmaid Hospitality" or "House Dragonmaid" should be to special summon in "Attack Position" instead of "Defense Position".
Just got back into Yugioh and downloaded Master Duel. Purchased 3 of the Dragon Maids starters decks and this video is so helpful to learn the ins and outs as well as updating the starter deck lists..
I usually run 3 of the on theme fusions. Always thought of the deck as a fusion archtype anyhow. I also tend to run 1 FHD for when tiy just need 5k+, it happens more often then you think.
Would you happen to know why the game would sometimes not like Guardragon Pitsy not special summon cards from the banish zone? It would always give me the option to do so for only my graveyard dragons.
I made a dragonmaid deck for the memes. My main decks switched between phantom knights and sky strikers. I really underestimated this archetype. I started sweeping decks I used to struggle against. It's almost impossible to stop this deck from snowballing.

I've came back today and tried out the deck ive won 13 games in a row cause most of the time they would surrounder I got 1 fully win but it ended because I sent the wrong card to the graveyard

Is there a lore reason there is no chamber dragon form? I ask because she is my favorite design and the one I would often summon over others for the reason of getting those very good spells and traps and would love to see her dragon form.

A niche trick DMaid has is that House fulfills the high level dragon requirement for Sheou. Combined with Changeover's GY effect, this means you can fuse House, use Changeover's GY effect, then fuse House into Sheou and revive House during either Standby Phase with Sheou's effect, with Chamber on either Battle Phase, or with Hospitality or REDMD during your turn. Situational, but it has its uses.
Paleozoic Dinomischus is a decent budget removal card for DMaid, giving you a non-bounce removal that also gets around destruction protection, and is EXTREMELY useful in the Eldlich matchup as it lets you banish Golden Boi or one of his many floodgates, including Imperial Order. The discard also lets you set up plays with Tidying or Nurse.
Wait u can summon house back from the GY? I thought u wouldn’t be able to when house gets summoned through the effect of sheou

This video is absolutely insane. The amount of care you put into this video makes it so easy and approachable to learn Dragonmaids. Those combos are awesome, and I love your tech cards. Personally, I added Noctovision Dragon and Fantastical Dragon Phantazmay. What do you think about those cards? Just a preference to run more hand traps for you? This video is so great, thank you for all the work you put into it!
I think the other hand traps are better. Phantazmay is a good tech card but not for this meta I think. I usually don't like topdecking Noctovision so I opted not to play it.
In my dragonmaid (i'm plat3 atm, so still long way to go to reach the top :P) i really like cross sheep for some special summons from grave, but i'll for sure want fo try the dragon ravine strat you pointed out

Putting aside everything else, this guide taught me 2 new general things about yugioh: bouncing or destroying continuous spell or trap cards and field spells negate their effect in a chain, and trap cards can activate their effects in the graveyard at quick spell speed. Thanks for the lesson!

Honestly I am new to this game and i dont know alot about yu-gi-oh and decided to get dragonmaid deck because they look cute, but i didn't understand their mechanics so thank you for making this video
I wanna make a dragonmaid deck but the end boards seems so weak with mostly 2 disruptions only. My opponents in diamond are so good they can even break my board of VFD + 3 negates + droplet protection and they can still play through it 😱. I can't see dragonmaid being successful in diamond unless I see a deck that can make 6+ disruptions.
The game just went to 💩 (at least on Master Duel). The higher up in rank u climb, the more omni-negates players use and set up on their board. The TCG is MUCH better (ESPECIALLY with the ban list). Only downsides to TCG of course is finding ppl to play with (unless u go to ur local areas or have friends that play) and spending a LOT more money on cards and travel (if ur area is fairly far).

Awesome video you made, dragonmaids was the first deck I've built when I first started playing master duel. So far it's my favorite deck to play and recently I've reached platinum one with my own dragonmaids deck. Even though the built I use is different.

Since I don't like running Prosperity in this, I run the Tempest package instead, which means running 1 copy of each Tempest and Gold Sarcophagus. Tempest by itself can be used as material for the Dragonmaid fusions, you can summon in if you're in a pinch, or if you need to. Banishing it with Gold Sarc also allows you to add a copy of Parlor from the deck to your hand. And considering how important she is, that makes it worth running imo.

This deck helped me a lot while learning how to play yugioh, yeah sure at first I was coming back to this video to remember how to normally pilot the deck but after hours of playing with it I managed to get the hang of it, I even played a variation of this deck in the fusion event and it did pretty well. (Without dpe and added Laundry for fun), now the maids are legit one of my fav archtypes.
Once I get back (since I sadly lost my account) I'll try this deck out again, but I'll change/add some cards to check the meta (example dimensional barrier/solemn/evenly and set up turn 3 disrupts with sheou + seal)
Your guides are so detailed. I didn't even think of playing dragonmaids but after seeing this guide I feel confident playing this deck

Heyy I didn t quiet get what he said at the beginning like 5:00 with the proper fusion summon...I understood what he said about what a proper summon is but not how it effects the card if she s not poperly summoned. Can someone help me?
Extra Deck monsters that were not properly summoned cannot be revived by any means. I hope this explains it!

After using a Deck Made up with Just the Dragonmaids having 3 of each cards and with their respected Spells/Traps Cards including the Cards "Laundry Trap" and "Sweet Roommaid" just to see how it works and how it can hold up in a match..
well they kinda seems like a pretty okay group of Cards but it still needs in my opinion aleast 3 new Dragonmaid cards to be complete which to me would be...
1# A Dragon Form Dark type Card of the Chamber Dragonmaid Card with the Card Effects of the following
8 or 9 star - 2800 ATK and 1800 DEF (Because the Maids ATK and DEF are based off of their Human Forms DEF)
Cannot be destoryed by card effects while you control a Fusion Monster you can only use each of the following effects of "Dragonmaid" (Whatever the name) once per turn
Effect 1 : you can Discard this card to the GY (aka Graveyard) and can Bring back 1 Banished or Graveyard Dragon Type Monster or 1 Banished or Graveyard Spell/Trap Card back into your Hand, Deck or Field.
(Basically its a Dragoncarnation Normal Trap Card)
Effect 2 : At the end of the Battle Phase: You can return this card to the hand and if you do Special Summon 1 level 4 "Dragonmaid" Monster from your hand.
2# A New Field Spell Card for the Dragonmaids/Dragon Type monsters
(Which does)
All Effect Dragon Types you Control Gain 500 Def
Once Per Turn at the Start of the Players Main Phase you can Discard a Level 7 or 8 "Dragonmaid" from your Hand or Deck and Special Summon a Level 2 to 3 "Dragonmaid" Monster from your Deck to the Field if you Control no Monsters on the Field.
(Can Edit to Discard Level 7 to 9 and Summon Level 2 to 4 if the Chamber Dragonmaid's dragon form is 9 star)

Also Increase your Life Points by 250 Points every time a "Dragonmaid" Spell Card is Activated and When a "Dragonmaid" Monster has return from the Field to the Owner's Hand

If this card is Destoryed and sent to the Graveyard you can Discard 1 "Laundry Trap" from your Deck to your Graveyard
(Side Note they should have "Sweet Roommaid" and "Laundry Trap" be treated as Dragonmaid Cards and "Dragonmaid Welcome" should be able to select it from the GY when activated)
3# A New Spell or Trap Card with the effects

I wouldn't use Pot of Extravagance in this deck. You typically use it for decks that don't care about their Extra Deck.

I always try to keep my decks as pure as possible, so the thought of adding cards like Apollousa or Accesscode Talker kind of annoys me tbh. But considering decks like Drytron and the endless negates they can set up, I guess I'll have to bite the bullet.

It's always a pain when I wanna play a specific archetype deck but the people recommend me decks that just end using or relying too much on random or the same universal extra deck monsters you see on every deck instead of as pure as possible which I know is a necessary evil but still. Especially since I only play decks I like
Unfortunately, since Pot of Generosity is limited to 1, I had to replace it with a Monster Reborn.
Still a very fun deck to use! Anytime I start to get a combo going, the opponent almost always surrenders.

This is a majorly helpful video. I haven't played since 2005. This game is vastly different. Got back into it, due to the free to play aspect, and dragonmaid just vibed with me. I love the detail in teaching how this works. So many new mechanics.

I hope you take this as constructive criticism: have you considered analyzing deck archetypes more fully rather than in a focused manner specific to your decklist? For example, although you don't play Dragonmaid Downtime for a very good reason, some people play it because aside from the card advantage it can slowly generate, it can help dodge effects and synergizes with House Dragonmaid.
A better example would probably be Noctovision Dragon, which some people use as a Link play extender (and the card draw doesn't hurt either).
TLDR: I think it would be nice if you explained card choices in a manner that is like "I don't play it for reason X, but maybe you might play it for reason Y, and something that is not the greatest choice but is a consideration is card Z".
Yes, this is very fair. The reason why I don't include every supporting card is because the video is already so long. I did have a section on Noctovision but I scrapped it because I did not play it. If I included every supporting card or possibility of different archetype combinations, it would be a very very long video and require way more production time in research and playtesting since I have to learn and understand them myself to explain it correctly. The goal with these videos is simply to showcase a deck using the archetype that can reach Platinum or in my other videos Plat 1, and to give my understanding of it that I use to reach these ranks. I agree Noctovision is pretty popular, and I think I can try to include things that are as popular as it to a deck next time.
The search effect on Downtime makes House miss timing.

I’m surprised that dragonmaid welcome is not considered to be all that useful. It has saved me a couple of times with the all monsters you control gain 100 atk/def for every dragonmaid monster you control part. It helped me get the power boost I needed to get my opponents strong monsters out of the way.
In worst cases the archetype of the "Dragonmaids" suck more than ass cuz the effects of the "Level 7 Monster" should've been just like the effects of the "Level 8 Monsters" that can be activated during either player's turn. And the effect of either "Dragonmaid Hospitality" or "House Dragonmaid" should be to special summon in "Attack Position" instead of "Defense Position".
Just got back into Yugioh and downloaded Master Duel. Purchased 3 of the Dragon Maids starters decks and this video is so helpful to learn the ins and outs as well as updating the starter deck lists..

I usually run 3 of the on theme fusions. Always thought of the deck as a fusion archtype anyhow. I also tend to run 1 FHD for when tiy just need 5k+, it happens more often then you think.

I made a dragonmaid deck for the memes. My main decks switched between phantom knights and sky strikers. I really underestimated this archetype. I started sweeping decks I used to struggle against. It's almost impossible to stop this deck from snowballing.

This deck doesn’t feel like it keeps up in the current meta. If the other player interrupts you it kind of feels like you can’t do anything anymore.
In the combo with kitchen, parlor and guardragon is there a reason why you summon apollousa over accesscode?

I've came back today and tried out the deck ive won 13 games in a row cause most of the time they would surrounder I got 1 fully win but it ended because I sent the wrong card to the graveyard

Is there a lore reason there is no chamber dragon form? I ask because she is my favorite design and the one I would often summon over others for the reason of getting those very good spells and traps and would love to see her dragon form.
