At 1"36 you showed my Freightshaker. That was the day I picked it up. No authority decals on it yet. I had just finished putting the cb antennas on it when someone walked by and took a couple photos. No idea who it was. 450 horses and a 15 speed, the top two overdrive. Not the best mileage, but in over 2 million miles I did not have anything unexpected go wrong. Thanks for the video and the song that I was unaware of. Thanks again, memories come flooding back. Power steering and air conditioning! I was in high cotton!!!
I startedout as a runaway from home when I was 14 and was taught to drive a cabover Marmon with a 325 hp.caterpiller engine with a 13 speed Roadranger transmission. If the owner operator seen me mess up he'd smack my hand. It was a great learning experience!!!
I started with a 66 Mack, then to a GMC Astro ( junk) then to a 75 4300 Transtar IHC. Lost it to the bank. I was done owning trucks. just no way to make a living.
Retired now but I started out on a White Freightliner cabover without power steering. Drove about everything and the last truck I drove was a Freightliner conventional. Obviously I was a company driver.
This song made freightliner today the single largest brand semi in America!!!-- it was a visionary song long before freightliner is what it is today!!!!
Had an 1981 conventional it was black with the yellow orange and red stripes. Lot of people called it the Halloween paint job 👍it had all the polished aluminum wheels big fuel tanks stainless breather’s I put a big Texas bumper on it stainless visor 👍it stood out for sure had 400 Cummins with a 15 speed and big single gangster headlights had it for about 20 years when I finally sold it and it was in excellent condition I did all maintenance and rebuilt the motor and what ever in our shop 🥵crazy how little they were worth used back then though 🙈😎Rickster.
I lost everything I had. We lived in a truck camper. I had to sell tools, parts whatever to feed my family. This not a good field for any man to be in. Dont go there.
