Had the Office of the Inspector General not got involved, DHS would have tried to sweep this under the rug. She should sue them for the unlawful termination and slander. DHS made it seem as if she closed the case (which resulted in no further investigation of the violent, sick parents) when the SUPERVISOR was the one who closed the case. I would have a lawsuit served so quick. That type of termination could not only ruin her livelihood with future employment, but her personal reputation too!
I don’t think it works like that. Georgia law allows you to fire an employee for anything you want as long as it’s not one of the few protected things like a medical issue or race or something like that. So they could fire her just because they don’t like the coffee that she drinks.
Working for cps/dfcs is a VERY HARD job....you are damnned if you do , damned if you dont....in texas the states #1 aim is reunification with the bio parents. They will give them chance after chance after chance to get themselves together and reunite with the kids. How can you effectively safeguard children when your employer is pressuring you to close cases, work as fast as you can, reunite kids and families, or get get kids adopted quickly. There are more cases than there are workers. Pay is low and pressure is high. My hats off to anyone who sacrifices to try to care about these kids. You're more likely to get blamed and fired than anything. And these workers aren't psychic, they cant predict the future....if and when a parent is gonna snap🙄
People have no clue how hard social work jobs are. You literally can get killed or fired FOLLOWING POLICIES. Each state is different, but I’ve learned no matter how tired and overworked DOCUMENT ALL CONVERSATIONS WITH SUPERVISORS INSTRUCTIONS (even copy and paste emails/ voicemails)!!! Always COVER YOU OWN ASS AS A SOCIAL WORKER because they will throw you under the bus. I’m so glad she fought to clear her name publicly, despite some damage that may remain.
They have to fire and blame a lower level employee bc if they admit it’s a supervisor or higher level employee than the department has to be looked into and more cases have to also be reviewed. So blame it on this woman and they think it can be swept under the rug and they can just move on.
It shouldn’t take a child’s death for y’all to do your job!!!!
Reporter, please check your compassion. Just a dead child is a phrase no one should utter.
I don’t think you understand the reason he said that phrase.
Rest in peace sweet angel You're in God's loving arms now!

They get bonuses for taking children , adopting children out and most rarely returning kids I could go further but .... I know the inner workings
Wrongfully fired. Sue the government sis

This is great journalism. My heart breaks for this child. I can’t even imagine, she didn’t even get a fair chance at life 💔

“ no love lost just a dead child and…”🥴. I’m hoping that just didn’t come out right.
He was being sarcastic. DFACS seems more interested in saving face than over the loss of that poor child.
😢😢😢❤😡😡Lord have mercy on.. rot in prison …!!!
Coa is exactly what it was can't have supervisor being to blame cause that will bring into question whole department
DFCS is evil
People who abuse children are evil.
Just a dead child and a lot of questions??? Poorly said.
I hated working for dfcs. It’s not the field you wanna go into
That's good. Those people don't get held accountable enough for their roles in the disservice of children.
Business as usual in Georgia. They close cases just to look good on paper. They do the same with other government programs in GA.
Horrible. They all should go to prison. Not just firing.
@@julielouque1992 all cases should be investigated
She got bonuses for closing cases. Tell me I'm wrong. Do your research
Finally
Sane thing wi with probation
