When I was a kid and a teen in the late 70's and into the 80's, a father and son drag team lived on the street over from us. The son had a fiberglass Opal GT with a tube frame that looked like a funny car with a small block Chevy while his Dad had a short wheelbase rail type dragster & a mid 60's Chevy II. Every Sunday, after Saturday race night, they'd be out back of the house tuning and repairing while we were eating Sunday dinner. As they would be revving up those beauties. My Mom and sister would be complaining to me and my Dad about that "racket", while my Dad and I were getting stiffies from the beautiful music those machines were making! Great memories!

No, it is my buddy @VictoryRedColorado doing this one. We were shooting video at the same event, he was just on the other side of the track from me. Mike Lock if it was still 1/4 mile those pat musi engines would destroy those prolines at the top end. Those musi high horsepower engines are amazing at the top end. 1/8 mile is too short for their full potential
Kevin and Meghan Law its a very strong engine and can take abuse. That engine has been around for awhile. The block and heads are made by alan johnson racing for supercharged top alcohol dragster and funny car. Proline had them reconfigure it to their specs. and made it where you could run turbos or prochargers. Strictly race only engine, no water jackets nothing. Why do you think they push them around the pits. They don’t stay turned of for too long or they will overheat

It's weird. Dave alot of success w the Nova 2 Bodie gave him. Bodie has one also seems to have no luck. Dominator has a fast car but only seems to do good out of town or against Monza. Oops was I thinking out loud. No matter what car you put Dave in he's always fast!!!
What's the diff between a Procharger and a blower? I've never seen under the hood of a car with a Procharger? I've had quick glimpes but not enough to know how they work. I know the whole bit about how a blower works so I'll save you time on that one. Thanks.
@@briansauer6695 your classic screw vs centrifugal blower have different power curves and advantages.... call speedmafia in Colorado on a weekend he can explain it. But individuals prefer different setups how power comes on. Procharger have lots of advantages like cfm flow, cooler temps, and easier on parts since power is based on rpm. So traction is applied and power comes on while rpm does up...spinning ain't winning. It's worth the money I think and I've ran turbos, nos and roots....tuning is super easy with a procharger vs turbos. List goes on and on....hope this helps but google speedmafia in Colorado they can help

I wouldn't want to ride for a length of time at high speed (ie: salt flats) but would love a quick rush! I have an '85 Kawasaki 900 Eliminator I bought new in high school (they were built with 900 Ninja motors but look like a drag bike)that I would love to do that to, but it has 50k miles on it and you'd have to beef everything up. For what we can do on the roads up here in Canada, there'd be no point as I'd be looking at $10k! And I've put 105k miles on my '02 Harley Superglide which would REALLY have to be beefed up and an entire rebuild to boot! Sure would look cool though!

The Discovery channel still is part of the races (we say who wins routine) at the strips if it's on their channel. We've had this same crew at strips where I live and they paid many of our area drivers money and purposely told them not to really grudge race the TV racers. Prep or no prep makes no difference if they are involved or have a say so in it. You wasted "smh" at something you didn't comprehend reading.
