Thanks for the feedback Vijay! There are many 3rd party tools, some of which are shown in the Azure Migrate portal On the native tools side the other tool that could do a migration is Azure Site Recovery Thanks for the question.
Thanks for the feedback! The assessment is 2 part Discovery - get info about the environment Assessment - understand the data and make choices how you want to move into Azure Azure Migrate will give you 3 options to move a VM 1. Use the current size of the vm 2. Use the Azure recommended size 3. Manually pick the size You do not have to choose the nic or disk. You can just let Azure do what it thinks best or you can select manually Does this help?
Thank you sir for sharing very understanding videos , i have a small request, can you upload video of data center migration on azure And also things should know to become azure architect. I will look forward for same. Thank you very much sir
this video covers the process of a data center migration. I don't have a whole data center in my house that I can show 300+ servers getting migrated...but it is the same process 😊 As far as being an Azure Architect...simply know everything in Azure...and how they all work together. 😁😂🤦♂️ Sounds crazy...but if you want to architect ANYTHING in Azure that is what it takes. So instead figure out what areas you want to specialize in and then Master those
Hi There, Does the Azure Migrate have the same limitation as the Azure Migrate Assessment Appliance which the host has to be running at least 2012 R2? I have been having issues due to our hosts running 2012 when trying to run the Assessment.
hello Team - In case we migrate a VM which has a webapp running on it from On-prem to Azure . Will it migrate webapp also on Azure automatically or we have to migrate this webapp separately ? 2) Can we Migrate this VM to an existing VM on Azure which is in a availability set ? Or how do we Migrate a VM in a availability set ?
When you say web app, if you mean IIS or Apache or other web server, YES you can just migrate the VM with the web app on it. The Web App migration feature in Azure Migrate is meant to move just the web app and leave the server alone. Both work...just depends on your use case
@@AzureAcademy - Thanks got it. Also, if On-prim VM has few softwares installed and have some data on it , it will also get automatically migrated to Azure VM after migration. Right?
if you migrate the VM...EVERYTHING on that VM is moved to Azure. If you migrate the web site...then only the site will migrate, the VM would stay in place.
Yes Azure Migrate is a free tool In Azure you pay for data and compute To get a subscription you can go to Azure.Microsoft.com Then sign up for an Azure subscription Once you have a subscription then first thing I would do is run my Blueprints You can find a video on them here to walk you through it ua-cam.com/video/rfPoMVXnBIk/v-deo.html These 2 blueprints will get Azure Migrate setup for you and get you ready to migrate your first 1000 VMs and databases into Azure

vSphere is supported...but you would have to wipe your laptop to install that...also sounds like your laptop doesn't have enough resources... you would need to install vsphere as the OS, then install the Azure Migrate appliance...then also have at least one more VM to migrate...doesn't sound like you have the system resources for all that on a laptop

Great video. I did actually learn new stuff
Awesome, that is why we are here!
Well Explained, why we had to change the Nic\Disk vm sizes, shouldn't assessment choose the correct size automatically?

Yes I believe so
During physical server to Azure migration using Azure migrate.I can only saw the appliance only but the vm is not showing
Not sure what you mean?
