Perfect video! I have a wheelhub that needs replaced, do not ask ... DUMB mistake on my side :) This video should help me a lot. I ordered the hub, seal and a puller. Like you said I found the transaxle is $700+, for a $75 part replacement. I am hoping mine comes off easier than yours did. "I heated it up with my torch, and it laughed" Classic!
So true Adam. I don't know if the dealers don't want to take a part, are too lazy, or don't know how to break down certain components but they always want to do the most expensive way. I had the transaxle start leaking on my old Rayco rg20 where the housing bolts together and they told me that the only way to fix it was to replace the whole transaxle because they don't manufacture replacement gaskets for that part and said that the new transaxle was around $250] just for the part. I separated the housing , used a micrometer measure the thickness of the gasket and went to my local parts store got gasket making materials and made the gasket for under $30 and about 5 hours of labor.
i had the same wheel seal issue. done this twice now. put a 2 or 3 jaw puller on it get some pressure built up on the puller heat it with a torch and then once its hot tap it from the back with a hammer it will pop right off. be careful when it pops off there is a lot of force it basically shoots off violently so dont be in front of it.
Thanks for always informative content. How do you like the bad boy mower? They are getting more popular around me and seem to be a cheaper alternative to the name brands we are used to.
Great video and advice! Any chance you know the part number on that seal? I have googled several sites but I just can’t seem to find the part number for the seal on this particular mower.

Mine popped off after a rapid cool and a side tap
Thank You!!!!!!!!
Exactly my problem after wrapping wire around the axle. You are wealth of knowledge-more than just stump grinding. Cheers
Glad to help
Got it off. It looked pretty much like yours. Even after heating, pulling, tapping heating ending up cutting it into three pieces to get it off.
Thanks for info. I've owned this brand mower since 2016 with no issues. Cut about 2 acres every 5 days. Nice machine. Appreciate all your videos.
Good to hear!
Adam, great video as always. Proves you need patience to be a mechanic. Keep’m coming brother. Fran
Thanks 👍
