Our cats think they are dogs because our basset/lab mix adopted them when they showed up on our back deck as kittens.
    The smartest is scary smart.
    She knows:
    - sit
    - Come
    - Stay
    - Up (eg get up on the chair, get up on the cat tree, etc.)
    - Down
    - walking on a leash around the yard
    - Ring a bell hanging from a cord on the front door knob to get let out.
    - Alert me when the dog needs to go outside to the bathroom
    - alerts me when my wife with MS needs assistance in another room.
On top of all that, she uses different vocalizations when she wants different things:
    - she makes one noise to indicate she wants to go outside
    - another noise for food
    - another noise if she agrees with what I asked her
    - another noise if she disagrees with what I ask her
(For example if she comes up to me to alert me, and I don't know if it is the dog needing out or the wife needing help, I can ask her "is it Tiffany (dog's name)" and she will respond with a positive noise or a negative noise to indicate if I guessed right about what she wants. I verified this several times and each time the noises matched with what the problem ended up being.
My belief is that it was no coincidence that this cat came into our house as an alley cat/kitten 6 months before my wife's self trained Border Collie/Lab service dog (yes, that dog watched me taking care of my wife and picked up on cues, actions, etc. and taught herself how to be of use to my wife by preventing her from getting near danger (hot stove, staircase, etc.), to come get me if my wife needed help, etc.).
Animals are truly a wonderful gift from God.

So refreshing to hear a different "Easter sermon" if you will. Love the parallel Jase made between Christ's resurrection coinciding with the "new life" spring brings every year. Never looked at it like that but definitely agree its not my coincidence but undoubtedly by design. Keep preaching it boys! (and you too Mr Robertson, sir).

Speaking of dogs watching the ducks, I've got a good one for ya... I was laying on a mud flat duck hunting. The wind shifted directions and started blowing in my face, which is bad, because the ducks land into the wind. So the ducks started coming in from behind me, kinda over my left shoulder and would just fall in the decoys. So instead of picking up all the decoys and moving, I turned my dog around facing behind me and just watched his eyes. He would perk up and focus when ducks started approaching from behind me. It worked like a charm. I could watch his eyes and reaction to the ducks approaching and knew when to be ready to shoot as the ducks came in from behind me over my head and into the decoys. He was a good dog.

Our Labrador / Boarder Collie mix is named Raven, she is two years old.
When my wife has a low sugar episode and is in danger, Raven the super dog will lay at her feet and whine until I come in and help her.
And it happens every time !
She is a mix but yet the very best Lab I've ever owned ! And she points flocks of geese as they fly over our house.
She is Jet black with 100% Lab looking fur and one small white spot on her chest, She has a Labrador tail too.
She was my Birthday present from my wife two years ago.

Just as Christian comedian and speaker Ken Davis says, you can be gone 5 minutes, OR 5 days, OR 5 weeks, ETC., but when you walk in your front door, your dog(s) will be there waiting on you, greeting you, and loving you😊.

God is so precious and so cool. In this. Easter sunday. My soul has renewed I lost my 19 years old labor.God blessed me 8 months old Greman shepherd male prue breed and paper work. I had to test I hunt and fish . He loves woods and creek beds and water. With my heart health he helps me. And he's showing me things I think he could retrieve birds. And. Great on and off the leash. In all training . Dog or horse.
If u can't control them on the leash u wouldn't control them off leash.i thank God . I had a bad though about this breed my dad had one mean.but god said u have one coming. Over one year later today I have one and saved him from the pound.

If anyone close to Phil sees this, suggest that he puts some rocks in the blind for blind retrieves. Throw it at the bird and they'll see or hear the rock splash. It is much, much easier for both of you. Because rocks sink, they don't try to retrieve them like they may with a piece of wood that floats. Get different sized rocks for distance. The further the duck, the bigger the rock. From dime to quarter sized. If he's close to the bird but swimming the wrong way, use a smaller rock just for safety.
    -
Hand signals are not my favorite thing to do. Just throw it in the general direction and they'll find it on their own. Trust me, you'd rather have them rely on their own senses than your whistle and hand directions, but they need to know how to do those too. I use hand signals only when needed.

I lost my Lab "Gizmo" last fall. She had a vocabulary of about 70 words. She would have been a great retriever but I was forced to quit hunting. Hunting aside, she was the best dog that I ever had. She loved people. I never had to worry about her getting in trouble or running away. Jase, when your dog brings you a golf ball ball, throw it for him!!! Throw it 50 times!!! Give him some exercise and he won't have the energy to waste on tennis balls. I don't know how you guys can have dogs and not let them in the house to live with you. They aren't just working dogs, they are companion animals. That's what they were created for.

Reminds me of a story I made up. The farmers son threw up on the path to the school bus. So He stayed home sick and the farmer chained a goat on the path to clean up the puke. The chicken and the pig came by and laughed at the goat saying, why would you lick up that puke, that's disgusting. The goat looked at the two of them said matter of factly, it's because I know what the farmer's son had for breakfast, and you two don't. Bacon and eggs. 🤘😎

Dogs truly are a mans best friend and I know God intended it that way. I have depression and anxiety and my dogs help me every single day. They are there for me no matter what. With that being said, I would highly recommend that Jase not let his pup chew on anything that he is at risk of swallowing. Everything single thing that he eats that isn't food, he risks an obstruction; which can kill him if not caught quickly. I hope he doesn't keep getting access to tennis balls. Just want him to be safe

On the Life Insurance subject, for those of us that aren’t as financially fortunate as you are, the policies that people invest in #1 PAYS for a funeral and #2 helps leave some kind of monetary strength to the beneficiary who may need to survive, leaving the insured a sense of peace knowing before they die that they’ve left something out of love once they’re gone. Please don’t judge people who aren’t as fortunate as your family is. I’m happy for your hard work, but not all hard work pays off like yours in the sense that your survivors are fortunate to have. Im a little disappointed in your view on those trying to be responsible for their loved ones.

Life insurance IS VERY IMPORTANT unless you have a lot of money saved up for burial expenses!! We don’t live in a country that you can just bury people in your back yard LOL !! The cheapest thing to do is cremation which is STILL around 2 grand! You should at least have enough money saved or a small life insurance policy so when you pass on your relatives aren’t looking at each other like, okay, who’s got the money for burial expenses 😳

This might be a silly question but what is a good Bible to buy? Or what Bible do you have? Or what Bible do they use in the podcast? I am new to all of this. I grew up going to church got baptized when I was around 8 but after my parents split up when I was 12 we quit going and now that I’m 27 it’s crazy how much you forget in 15 years. I’ve always believed in god I just haven’t been living a Christian life style and that’s the life I wanna live I want to learn about Jesus Christ then I want to tell everyone I know about him. Life Insurance exists because people do not have the self control to save money. So, somebody created an industry of people giving a company $$ every month for 30 years, then you die and your family gets part of that money back via a life insurance payout. In reality, you could put that money in a savings account and cut out the middle man. My grandparents did that, and left their children over $250,000 (and my grandfather was a simple bricklayer.) The problem is, it takes great discipline.
