    You've done a wonderful job, not easy at ALL working so small. I can't believe you didn't work to at least double that scale to make life easier for yourself. Just respect for your sticking at it right through. Well well done. A huge achievement. Why do you work so tiny it's got to be so much harder!

I don't know but there is something connections whenever i see Titanic, maybe i was fascinating with the history of the ship or what that I couldn't explain. I was once built a model using recycled materials such as matchbox as the body and the pipe owhere you can find thread rolled as her funnels but sad to say it was washed out by strong typhoon.

      Hello. First of all, thank you for your interest. I mainly used popsicle sticks and a stick for testing the throat for the hull and the floors, leftover electrical wires, telephone wires, mosquito netting, toothpicks, ear charms, Photo paper for the chimneys and anything from the environment that suited. You should watch the clip to the end and 4 more clips of other ships.

      Hello Fidel, En el libro sobre la construcción del Titanic, la escala es 1: 600 y 1: 384, así que tuve que calcular las medidas a una escala de 1: 300, esta es la escala del modelo.

      Joseph Ringler no problem I actually was thinking of building a titanic model my self but it looks very difficult

  • @MFKR696
    @MFKR696 6 років тому

    Using balsa for the keel is just asking for trouble. Should have used a piece of steel or aluminum flat-stock.

    • @yosiringler
      @yosiringler  6 років тому

      Hello, for your information. There is no use of the Balsa in this Titanic model, In addition, the model should not be in water at all only for display.

    • @MFKR696
      @MFKR696 6 років тому

      What type of wood did you use? I mentioned using metal for the keel for structural peace-of-mind when you have to move the model, not water-worthiness. I used to build balsa airplanes, and just looking at that entirely-wood structure makes my palms sweat lol. I quit doing that for a reason : )'
      BTW, you should check out the model of the Titanic that Fine Art Models did as an extremely limited run. Fine Art Models makes museum-quality stuff. I guarantee you'll get a kick out of it. I heard that the first one sold for $40 000. You should check out their website. They've got quite a few other types of models you'll get a kick out of as well. For example, they make museum quality model classic cars from scratch, using mostly brass. fineartmodels.com/Welcome.html

      No need to be a prick. "Recycled materials" tells me nothing. You could at least be man enough to tell me you don't know what kind of wood it is.

      Hello Beia Lysa, First of all you have to decide on the size of the model and according to that the scale, for example, I chose a scale of 1: 300 so that the length of the model is 94 cm (36 inches). You can purchase the book by Peter Davies - Garner. There are all the drawings of the Titanic and also pictures. This is the link to purchase the book. www.amazon.com/-/he/dp/1526737337/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=peter+davies+garner&qid=1620745004&sr=8-2. Good luck.
