  • Bottom Line: Two jets made contact during the 2013 Reno Air Race Pylon Seminar, they landed, and no one was hurt. Whew! Then I returned to my motel, edited the video, and delivered a few DVDs the next morning. I also dropped off DVDs to jet racers during the 2013 Reno Air Races. Yesterday during the 2014 Pylon Seminar two major players, the pilot of L-39 Triple-Seven and a major airport tenant, still had not seen the video - now they have. Oh to hear the story! What a piece of flying! Stills were discovered showing Triple-7s "cobra head" like maneuvers. Per a lesson from Bob Hoover, fly it all the way to a stop. The aircraft would roll at speeds under 200kts. A year has gone by: no one was injured, the races were held, and the pilot of Triple-7 thought posting the video was appropriate to learn from.
The collision took place near Pylon 4. Time stamps on the video are based on the clock in my camera.
    Yowser!
