Pro Tip #1, Pro tree focus on only the top bulb. When you find yourself straying off looking at all three ambers your not focused enough. Will be more consistent looking at the top bulb only. Also a practice tree will do wonders
I am new to drag racing and appreciate any all tips I can get. I'm not leaving the tree like I should be. What rpm should I be holding for take off with a small block
that was pretty good. i kind of knew everything you went through already. if I stage and anthother car takes to long, is there a time limit where the tree will just go? I thought you could be time out if you dont stage soon after the first guy stages.. thanks
Great tips love your channel watch every upload can't wait for the call out and for you to line up with nick and mike. I think youll have them hands down your quicker on the tree from the video's I've watch of nick and mike run.
oh and im not saying youre wrong but you left out a big fact on reading the tree and launching. the reason you launch before green is more because our reaction time is slower than the time it takes the tree to go from yellow to green. i think you typically launch on the yellow and by the time your brain does its thing the tree is green
All very well saying that you always stage last as you have a street car. So, what happens when up against another street car with the same driver attitude?
John you need to learn how to be the first to stage aswell sometimes the starter will force you to go in a great racer knows every aspect of the game and comfortable in all situations
I actually finally raced for the first time the other day, really wanted to do a dig but they weren't having it. But anticipation on the green has always been my goal. Thanks for the tips. Really helpful

not trying to be a buzz kill but does your shirt say rpm motorsports? because i know of a rpm motorsports thats in my local area thats been around allot longer than you.. might need to clear this one up.
Edward Moon no. No it is not Time starts when that light goes green The entire drivetrain has slack to take up and there’s room in those beams Don’t leave the beams before the green and you’re golden Nothing cheating about it
Is this a serious topic? Don’t waste everybody’s time climbing into an engine bay, where it’s hard to see what you’re writing. Is this just a goofy “comedy out take”?or are you for real?
This is actually the best way to teach people. Consistent wins races! Good job John!
Good shit!! I’ll try it out at my local intersection.
Lmao

rule #1 Consistency in preparation repetition is your friend ...
Some instructors use a podium, others a chair, John Doc from an actual engine bay. Well done!
Just found a ride starting to drive in February for the first time in my life at 57 years old Tucson here
Coming from a bracket raced, these tips are actually pretty solid
How often do you red light anticipating the green?

"It's all in the hips, it's all in the hips" - when you punched Bob Barker though.... that was a classic! 😂😂😂 🖒🖒 good tips man, TY!
Very informative, quick question. U rolled and the one yellow stage light went out. What happened there?
That was deep staging when u roll through the prestage beams
What is the meaning, sorry to ask but I have never raced at a track and am building a car that I might race.
Great tip bro!!!! One of your best vids bro!! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Thank you its really helpful ❤
U should do one on burn outs🏁
Great vid bro!!!
Great advice, "shouldn't see the green light when you leave"

I'm a fan of letting people learn it separates racers from the rest.
You're one of those guys who has to stage last... This is not Pro Stock!
Have you ever come up against another guy who also refuses to stage first? If so what happened?
"More freaking marinara sauce "
Drinking game
Every time you hear the word engine
Take a shot
Can you stick that deal to a tripod or wall or something lol
I actually finally raced for the first time the other day, really wanted to do a dig but they weren't having it. But anticipation on the green has always been my goal. Thanks for the tips. Really helpful
I call u out in the 132... with what ever...
If you learned something from this I pray that you line up next to me in a bracket race.
It's not game over if u have a modified Tesla
I wait for the green light because I don’t want to red light. I’ve done well that way. Great video!

Just jump. Your opponents adrenaline will mean 90% of the time they'll chase you. Unless you're running dqs...
#4 is technically cheating
How
Edward Moon no. No it is not

Don’t leave the beams before the green and you’re golden
Nothing cheating about it
Cheating!? Lol Coming from the guy that prob never lined up on a tree
Lol... so not cheating. You'd get a red if you were doing it wrong.
