I really feel like Mr. Rat has been kinda screwed on rewards for these insanely hard ruins and stuff. He's out here randomly finding legendaries in just a normal place. Goes into a site with an absolute wombo combo of enemies his reward..."This shiny rock that vibrates when you shake it and gives you +10 in Happiness when you look at it because it has a drawn smiley face on it".
@EncontheCrow yup, COQ's really only major issue outside the frankly boring and linear main quest, is high tier rewards not being fungible, i.e. you can't take the stats off of certain loot and transfer it to actual usable loot so the best endgame loot is the perfect stat injector and even that's not that great because cloning drops of nector is easier and cheaper
Little-known bit of interesting interaction. If Oboroqoru's strata has a biome modifier (like slimy, rusty, or tarry), He can spawn as web-toed, qudzu-symbiote, kindlethumbed, and the like. The same is true of the cryo-clones, actually.
That silence and pause and then dipping is pretty much exactly my reaction in a situation like that. Also that Gigantic Chassis plate could be amazing to get for your Golem when you make it to equip on its back!

You got the Fist! And yeah, Oboroqoru has a x8 modifier on Reputation changes. Gotta be really careful with that one. For "inaccessible" historic side, you can always just go one tile down from the site, drop a Spiral Borer, and dig your way back in (even if it's just on the artifact floor). A little hard to see where the correct place is without Clairvoyance, though. Eating wild rice without precognition... I know the odds are super low, but still, you do it often enough and it might just happen. Imagine your run ending to rice, of all things.
at this point, you probably have enough ego that you can just proselytize the merchants and take whatever you want from them. I think it becomes possible at around the +7, +8 point. I saw you have a +9 on it. dromads are pretty much impossible to prosecute, but Beppo and Jennifer Tilli in YD Freehold should be able to be prostituted.
Don't worry it can be a tough one to pass but maybe I can make your life easier with a couple of tips: Make sure you have a pickaxe on you, either from the dead body in the hole under Joppa or from buying it from Mafeo in Grit gate. Secondly, search for the body of Argyve's assistant by entering each central map of every Parasang in the salt marsh until a popup says you have found him and collect the "strange tubes" you will find on his body. Take them back to Argyve to identify and use the fix it spray foam you get for finishing the Red Rock quest you get from the village elder in Joppa. Congrats, you now have a set of mechanical wings you can put on your back! I would aim for being around level 15 by the point you actually want to do the next part. Then use the pickaxe to cut a hole in the top central building over Golgotha, equip the wings and toggle flying on when next to the shaft you see going down in there. Pray to Resheph that they don't fail and lower yourself directly down 5 strata deep until you can't lower any more. Also congrats, you just bypassed all the nasty conveyer belt shenanigans and can now either grab the waydroid and run back to the platform at the bottom of the shaft you just descended and hit the button to leave or you can fight Slogg if you are so inclined. Enjoy your victory over that filthy hole and never look back.
last historical site i did wa filled with mirror bugs and gama moths, so i can understand the fear,(i lucky only got albino defect after completeing it, it was HELL)
Also wouldnt it best to equip emp grenades, vibrokopesh, cast fugue, gas then pop up the stairs snd let your clones chisel away at the chrome pyramids? I forget if damage still occurs you leave the zone via stair.

Help me here, wouldn't mirror bugs be easy with Corrosive Gas? or does it not reflect corrosive dmg?
Yeah it does still reflect as acid damage so it's definitely a dangerous way to kill them without super-high resistance

If he pops back up, the clones will come with him sadly, it would be a great plan otherwise.
