I enjoy the farming videos because your situation is so similar to mine....but you know what's best for yourself and your family. I've also struggled with making tough decisions on old outbuildings, and it's not easy. When it comes to achieving a debt free life, that's a great feeling - I still fondly remember the year I paid off my house, which was my last hurdle.

Make videos that you enjoy, and do work you enjoy. We’ll be along for the ride, and when you start making different videos, you might even capture a different audience. While I wouldn’t pay off a low interest mortgage myself, you have to do what’s right for you. I would refer to what you’re going through as a period of “reflection.”

it would be cool to put the cabin where a pond could be made for fishing, swimming and rowing a little boat…

I was thinking about a pond too, not quite sure what has to happen for that though

If you haven't made it happen yet.
Find a spot where water naturally wants to sit roughly where you'd want your pond.
Get some feeder pigs and some bentonite clay, excavate it out to roughly what you'd want. Let em wallow and pack it down working the clay in. You can get some corn and sorghum in to make silage under a tarp. That'll save you from having to buy a bunch of big rounds and bag feed from a box store.
As far as silage goes don't go totally hog wild with it keep it on a scale that you can haul your corn and sorghum stalks in a pickup bed + landscape trailer I mean if you can find a cheap serviceable dumping chip truck that would be amazing cause you grind it with a wood chipper anyway. Either haul and chip right at you pile. Or if you can find a corn binder that would be awesome as well. But it's such an antiquated machine they haven't made if decades and when they come available the Amish grab them up. Either way an acre or two could net you anywhere between 3-5 maybe even 8-12 tons of more of silage just put it to bed under a tarp till it smells like bread and butter pickles. That and chip truck= mulch compost etcetera.
Feeling the mid life stay at home Dad grind it really kinda sucks at times.

Oh Anne of all trades has some good videos on pig ponds, and there's videos on small scale silage as well. Thing that sux is not having the scale to justify a shredder loader but between tractor shredder wagon it's like pulling a 25+ foot train even on the smaller side,.. doesn't really work for a small holder w a lot you can't turn something like that around on anyway.

I’m on year 3 of a couple acres of wild flowers, we get sooo many flowers we put them out on a road side stand and get steady cash flow. Looking forward to the track!!

Thats awesome! I didn't even think about selling them. Thanks

@@HumbleAcres yea and depending on where you are located the flowers will replant themselves somewhat. I save the Zinnia seeds in the fall and each head gives me about 20 or so seeds to replant. I’ve also talked with a local florist and sell her flowers as well. It’s not a lot of money but it gives me cash to buy ammo with!

You only get one life so do what is best for you and your family and I totally agree about being debt free. As for the mid life crisis I would say no you're just at a fork in the road of life young man. Live long and prosper 😊😊. Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧

You seem like you are down in the dumps. Don't let life's stress interfere with having fun. Your UA-cam channel is yours, it isn't ours, so you do what you want with it. In the end, do what you enjoy and it will all work out. Plant those wildflowers, build that track and campsite, then when you are done you can stop and smell the wildflowers you planted and enjoy racing on your track and relax by a fire at your cabin/campsites. Many times we overthink and overanalyze ideas, if the idea isn't harming someone or yourself just do it. It is your property enjoy it the way you want to.

Jordan...best of luck with your mid-life opportunity! It just dawned on me that you are a mini-farmer version of YTer Millenial Farmer, Zach Johnson, who farms in Minnesota with his dad, but has a couple of dirt track cars he races and also has a son (Onyx) a little older than Cooper who races as well. He and his wife also have a couple of younger girls, iirc. Both of ya'll have put out very entertaining tractor/equipment foibles vids...along with the fixes to same. Once you get your "ship" turned to run with the new flow...I predict many of your viewers would follow you building your track, growing your new pollinators crops, and building that cabin, and watching that tower rise again over Iowa fields of dreams! I have no doubts that you will "find your footing" for your new direction and look forward to following, but understand your need for a break from YT, while regrouping! Be safe, never give up the safety flip flops...and carry on young man!

I'm just a little older than you, been there done that! I also went through the same midlife (changes) If i was a stay at home and had all of the fields you have around me, i would be plowing and planting corn and soybeans. hay is ok, but the real money is in corn and soybeans. you have the place for it and its not that hard to do. keep up the good work man! love the videos.

Why don't you sell that Go Cart to a viewer near you!?

NOT having debt is smart. Just hang-on to 1 Credit Card and let it just sit. Your credit score will STILL climb.

To be honest I won’t need a credit score. I have had all my credit locked for years and never will use it again. Thanks though😉

Jordan that was great enjoyed it your ideas are good to get to get free of your bills is great the cabin also great the tract is nice but with a family not to practical with young kids maybe if they were in there teens a speed tract needs to be strictly maintained or can become dangerous but it is your life also a speed tract to build race car alone is a lot of money ask Zach from millennial farmer he is also a race car driver and Owns a couple of cars trailer a motor home he makes buck and has a million followers and a race car channel also.

You say your wife was going to inherit the land.....then you say you decided not to buy it. If you inherit the land, you wouldn't have to buy it. I'm confused.
