This explanation is so clear, thank you! Not only do you say how to do it but also all about the tension and what it looks like when its gone wrong and I really appreciate that information :-)
This technique - with your tutorial - worked just fine for me as a beginner. It looks fancy, but you make it simple, so thank you. Your videos are great for showing techniques in an accessible way, and this one is within my grasp. Other videos you've made will perhaps be more relevant for me when I get better - but I will keep watching and learning. Thank you.
@@mundillolace201 You're a great help, and since I have only UA-cam to teach me it's wonderful to have videos like yours. My great-grandmothers used to make lace this way - and now I am learning how to do it through the internet, so it is an interesting development from these women doing it by the sunniest windows of their small cottages to me doing it in front of my laptop. You're preserving and teaching an old craft, and I'm happy to learn what my grandmothers knew, even if they can't teach me themselves.
Thank you so much for this video! I am absolutely new in this and you are the first person really showed a nice looking slim lace I was looking for and make by myself. I do' NT know why all others make a bigsecret about making bobbin laces because for crochet there are lots of videos available. THANK YOU✌️
Bobbin lace is so time consuming that many people give up because is not profitable. My purpose is to make it as easy as possible so people wants to make it for the love of art. 😍
@@mundillolace201 Yes, with larger projects and very fine yarn it is very time consuming. But old crafts and techniques from the past should always be preserved and knowledge passed on. If only because today we often don't use the quality in this times and high quality and natural materials, as was common in the past. I imitate historical clothing (handsewing or on antique mashines) and miss filigree borders without polyester etc. Something like that is hard to come by and so I have to make it myself. I'm also happy when I can always learn something new. Thank you very much, best regards from austria!
@@mundillolace201 Thank you for having such a love of this art. It shows in your teaching. I haven't started my first project yet I want to study first. I have to say I only speak English but with your teaching skills I enjoy watching your videos that aren't in English also. My husband and I are talking about learning Spanish this winter. Back to Bobbin Lace you do such beautiful things and keep me excited about learning. Also I joined a beginners group and no one knew about your way of holding the bobbins and doing the twist and cross. I told them I practice your way and feel most comfortable instead of picking them up and moving to me that's not comfortable. I hope you continue to get more subscribers and continue to make videos.
The reason I don't make knots at the beginning nor at the end of a leaf or tally is that if by any reason you have to undo your work (maybe your are not please with the output) its hard to take that knot out plus the thread gets worn (separates from undoing a knot) specially when using fine thread. Try it both ways and you will see no difference.
Me encanta esa forma de hacer las hojas de guipur. Como han dicho en otro comentario, me parece una forma ideal para principiantes (como yo). Tengo que ponerla en práctica.
Marvellous tuition,so clear and straight forward, I never thought I would attempt a tally again. It’s amazing that Anne Marie is in Porto Rico and I thought I might be able to attend one of her classes?
Question - when you put more than two sets of bobbins on a pin (like 3 sets on the pin for the leaf edging) how do you know which two sets of bobbins to use to start the edge?
The far last pair is always the edge, so I take the previous two pairs to do the full stitch, pin. I will recommend to view my video of “Lesson 5: Claritos and edge” Hope this answers your question 😊
Hi Daniel! You control the width of the leaf with the external two bobbins. However, this is easier to do in a big leaf where you can “build it up”, meaning you you have space to start thin then wider in the center and thin again at the end. Thin is easier. Keep the other bobbins that are not the leader straight down and do not pull them to the sides when “collect” the tread of the leader. Hope this explanation is clear
Saludos. Mi hija quiere un panuelo tejido en mundillo por Mi. Como puedo comprar un patron que no sea muy complicado pues soy principiante. Intente en Etsy pero no vi ninguno.Gracias.
Verify the settings in your computer and check the speed set up. I intensionally go very slow. Remember, this is an advance technique and the movement is the same as for the twist and cross.

Salut! Ce n'est qu'un échantillon pour enseigner la technique.
Hi! It is only a sample to teach the technique.
