I actually really liked the old intro, but I like a recap too. Maybe you could narrate in the style of the old intro with a 'previously in the megabase world' type of thing
Phase 1 and 2 of cc also drop some moonrock, so if you look around you should find some extra. Also damn, that gem tree luck! Two green from three geodes!
As for the animation canceling, I personally prefer to right click and equipment to cancel instead of picking it up and hovering it over my head slot, as it improves inventory management and is just faster start and stop doing for me. For Wortox, I've been learning to stutterstep, because I want my mouse free to teleport, but that technique is a lot harder.
i think it helps if you love building, as there's not much else to do after you fight all the bosses. but i get the same way sometimes. i just take a break, play something else, and then come back to the world whenever i feel like it.

you could farm or try to make all the crockpot dishes. or just keep fighting the bosses. just depends on what you have the most fun doing.
