Every airport I’ve gone to has had white door alarms with either clear or white strobes. They lack fire lettering, (except one, which is a big issue) but they still sound in a code 3 pattern, which is puzzling to me. They’re sometimes even Wheelock MTs or Gentex Commander 3s with multiple tones, and they picked the tone thats literally screaming FIRE! It’s super confusing. For a few real life examples, Seattle/Tacoma international airport, my home airport, Has System Sensor horn strobes ranging in age from pre-ADA MASS series to Advance P2W for all their door alarms. The fire voice evac devices were mostly red Wheelock E70s and newer E50s, but parts with no renovation had unknown remote speakers on the ceiling and Federal Signal frosted I strobes (the pointy triangular ones) on flat red panels. I was also at NYC JFK International Airport’s terminal 4 recently. It had Wheelock MT series multi-tone horn strobes in white for the door alarms on the gates. These were a mix of vertical and horizontal strobe versions. There was no voice evac in there for fire, instead a combination of Wheelock NS and Exceder horn/strobes in red. One NS was notably mounted sideways.
Nice! I used to live in Vegas, so I have had a lot of experience hearing and seeing these. They also have them in the main Terminal 1 baggage claim. From 2007-2008, they rebuilt eight of the carousels, doubling the size to 80x60, and all 16 of the carousels there had the display signage upgraded. The old setup had the same tones, and strobe lights, but the beep was a bit higher and longer.
Much better than those ear piercing buzzers in Boston Airport! I still think instead of beeping they should have an announcement such as at Tampa airport.
Oh boy! this airport, when i was 10, I told a young kid thatw as like 4 years old, I pointed to a BG 12 and said that brings a candy man and you get the candy you want. Kid pulled it instantly. Id do it again tbh 💀
@@GaryBeltz It's a Federal Signal SelecTone 50GC with the "Beep" TM7 tone module. It is straight from Federal Signal, FOS didn't rebrand these(to my knowledge).

The door alarms at Philadelphia Airport sound like an AS although they're the DL1

They do make an announcement for when the baggage is coming in the carousel too at the Nashville Airport

No, as the title states it is a federal signal device. This is a speaker strobe with a yellow strobe
