I'm not a musician (although I like music), but today I got really curious about wind instruments, like, I "lost" a lot of time trying to discover if there are any wind instrument that has only keys ("all covered holes") and that has an easy "head joint" (that is easy to make sound, just by blowing it). Well, I didn't really find something, but then I discovered the fliphead! Which to me was really cool! Besides that I found that exist, like, three specific recorders that has keys (for all notes), which are: the bass recorder (the "biggest one"), nuvo recorder+ and Keyed recorder by Arnfred Strathman. But I still want to discover if there are any other instruments like what I was looking for

Thank you for this. I have wanted to try one for awhile as a polying instrument, but i do find it to be kind of expensive

I've been playing the recorder -- easy to play, but not easy to play well. However, the tone of the flute is very enchanting, so much so that I've considered learning it. However, I am an older adult and have been deterred by the fact it apparently takes a long time to develop proper embouchure. This cross between a recorder and flute might be ideal for me, actually...

Nice! I guess it would be cool if the made a flute head joint in a recorder shape, like, an easier head joint that wouldn't affect the sound

Thanks for posting this review…you manage to make an excellent sound from the fliphead (sadly some of the other reviewers have not been as sonically successful) but I guess that might be down to the fact that you play other wind instruments as well as flute? I’ve ordered mine yesterday so hopefully it will be here by the weekend. Thanks.

I paid $50 for my Selmer Aristocrat off eBay because I wanted to add flute to my own polyinstrumental repertoire (lots of brass from cornet to tuba, clarinets including Eb contra, and double (string) bass). However, I'm not having much success in getting a good sound, and holding the instrument to my right isn't at comfortable for me, so I'm looking for options such as this one. If I master the embouchure, I would consider a curved head joint having a "normal" embouchure hole.

This is a wonderful idea, at 1/10 the price. They're charging as much for this little head joint as a whole Chinese flute.

As a recorder player, I don't think it sounds at all like a recorder. It still sounds like a flute. I alsp play flute butmy emboucher is going so this could prove useful
