Unboxing Gift from a Subscriber

Subscriber sent a Gift to me for my 35KW Briggs and Stratton Generator.
Item Requires a Can Bus Adapter such as one from Kvaser, Yale or IFAK.

Wow, that’s and amazing gift! You deserve it Jacob, you put so much time, effort and energy into your videos. It’s a shame you can’t just use a regular serial to USB adapter to make it work. I guess the proprietary adapter does something before it gets to the computer. Keep up the great work!

Thanks! My whole goal is to help people do work on their own without having to hire an expert. Yes, I am not sure why you need a computer in between to buffer the data, but that's the way it is. It really made me feel so appreciated to get that gift. I always appreciate your support. Thanks!

1. It is almost certainly a commercial product.
2. The reason proprietary connectors are used is so that it is less likely to make mistakes and plug in the wrong cable. The 9 pin connector is a standard which is used for many things. One is for serial port communication, but many other devices use this connector and it may damage equipment plugged incorrectly.
