In this session of Decoding Gita by Hita, in the second chapter of Sankhya Yoga Shree Hita Ambrish speaks of how this chapter is an awakening call by Shree Krishna towards self-reflection and self realisation. It is the power of thought which enables the journey within towards self actualisation. It is the light of wisdom that illuminates the path towards the absolute truth.
In the middle of the battlefield, there is Arjuna whose mind is at the extremities where on one end he has the potential of a fiercely brave warrior and on the other he wants to desert the battlefield thinking about the consequences of battle. Then there is Shree Krishna, who is the ultimate consciousness, who is guiding Arjuna to perform his deeds in the light of the absolute truth. Motivating him to courageously and wholeheartedly accept the present, as it is, by channelizing his energy towards fulfilling his duty and recognising his true Karma, instead of entangling his thoughts around the anticipated outcomes, on which he has no control.
Don’t you think at times we all fight this battle within, where unpredictability of life overwhelms us. Here in the second chapter, Gita has a message for us about courage, awareness and truthfulness of our actions as a vital force in our lives.
Each breath gives us an opportunity to start over. No matter where we are today, we can start our journey, like Arjuna did by surrendering to Shree Krishna (the absolute truth) and by first conquering the struggle within.
