60007 Sir Nigel Gresley departs from the Bluebell Railway - 23.10.24

- After a two week stay at the Bluebell Railway in Sussex, appearing at their ‘Giants of Steam’ gala alongside various diner trains and a special train for its members, LNER A4 Pacific No. 60007 Sir Nigel Gresley would depart from the line to return to its base at Crewe.
Starting at Sheffield Park, the A4 is seen entering the station having come off shed for the last time, before taking on water for its journey north, standing alongside Standard Tank No. 80151, which would be hauling the Bluebell’s service trains for the day. After witnessing the A4 depart the station, a dash to Sharpthorne followed, to capture the A4 on Bluebell metals one more time as she exited the tunnel. Finally, having returned to mainline rails, the A4 is seen passing through Hurst Green, whistling to her onlookers who had come to bid her farewell. Hopefully it won’t be too long before an Eastern Pacific visits the line again!

Saw this flash past the window of the office i was in near Northampton today. Fantastic!
Good timing!
Great video of Sir Nigel Gresley leaving the Bluebell on the return journey back to Crewe 👍 I’m sad that this loco have to leave, but hopefully the famous Gresley pacific will return in the near future.
Thanks Joe. Likewise, but it was great to have it visit.
I've said this before but, the heritage line bit of moves like this don't get covered enough. Great job! I did try and see it at Herne Hill but it came too early and I missed it.
Thanks Matty. Moves like this aren't as exciting given it's just loco and coach, but I thought I should go just to see the A4 a final time. Ironically it left SP slightly late but was early by the time it got to Hurst Green!
Great capture - Events have transipred against me this year to see SNG but these videos have kept me entertained instead.
Good video Thomas :)
Thanks Simon
